I came here through the Justin Bell talk with Mr. Andretti. It has been very worthwhile, thankyou. And you know there is some crazy affinity between him in those ferocious Sprintcars and Señor Fangio taming the Alfetta. :)
Thanks for watching! So much respect for his versatility. When you look at a year like 1974, when he was jumping from Indy Cars to USAC Championship Dirt Cars then into F5000 and Formula 1 all within days of each other.
Not sure, do you remember anything specific about the documentary? SpeedVision used to show many of the items from the Duke Video catalog. I have several, unfortunately Duke Video does not allow them to be public.
@@HODIUSDUDE i think andretti raced a ferrari sports car. and i know about duke. funny thing is most of the stuff they block they don't sell in the states.
@@SwineBrothers Based on that description, I think you are referring to "The Speed Merchants", which follows Elford and Andretti on the 1972 World Sports Car Championship. It's blocked on YT by Duke Video. There is also a book with the same name.
@@HODIUSDUDE the only reason i asked was searching for mario andretti documentary 70s got no real results, had to jump through hoops to find out it was the speed merchants.
You know idiots like to say oh that andretti luck. Like he never had any. He was a lucky sob. Look at all the racing he did of different types of cars and all the people that got killed. Heck he was testing Michael's in the car well in his 60s where he went and over and could have gone over the catch fencing and landed on all four wheels!
Great video. I had the pleasure of meeting Mario and sharing a glass of wine with him at his winery. He really is a very nice man.
Cherish that memory, been a fan for 54 yrs. Living Legend & rip to his wife,Aldo & John. This family were put on this earth to race cars.

This is great, thanks! Now, all we need is Mario's ESPN Sportscentury. AJ Foyt's and Big Al Unser's are on here, but not Mario's.
I am Proud to be one many of VPJ Race Techs. for Mario during the 1975 Season, Thank you Mario and PJ and Vel for the Memories.

The only good thing about communism is it gave us Mario Andretti
No it's Tony Stewart...
you have a good argument he's won in every car series he's been in!
Tony Stewart never won the Daytona 500!
I don’t recall Stewart driving in F1 much less winning a world championship.
Much respect. ❤
