You can have all of the money in the world and no talent and make it in NASCAR but if you have all of the talent in the world and no money you won't make it in NASCAR.
I came across Mr.Delma back in the day, running at Oglethorpe Speedway in Pooler Georgia right outside Savannah. He was always a good dude good ol fella enjoy the time around him. Old Dalma would race with a shopping cart if you wanted.
Rest in peace, Delma Cowart. He always tried his hardest and gave it his all in a sport he truly loved. Long live the Master's Inn Ford and the man that drove it. The man loved to race and he liked to party too. God speed.
Delma Cowart was a true racer ,his heart was in it strong.God Bless those who try so hard
Delma was a special man. "He may never have won a race, but he never lost a party"
R.I.P Mr. Cowart.

I'm sure there is a hell of a party roaring on tonight at that big racetrack in the sky. RIP to a colorful fella.
That’s a real racer right there!!!
Patton said “I’ll be back and I’ll be stronger” like Col. Sanders said “I’m too drunk to taste this chicken”.
“If you need it and I dont have it then you dont need it.” HAHAHAHA
This is what would happen if I built a nascar in my backyard
He came 4 the party and stayed 4 the party
Just found my favorite NASCAR driver of all time.

Put that dude on Fox as announcer. He would be better than the crew they have now.
Race in peace, Delma. Gonna be one hell of a party at the superspeedway in the sky.
Never won a race, but never lost a party as well.

Now someone stole your comment for their own video
@@TheMW2informer you say that MW2 but that's a quote from the man himself, because who else would come up with a such a phrase? lol
The King Mansplainer where does Delma say that?
@@TheMW2informer His retirement speech.
I remember when he made the field for the 1992 Daytona 500. He told a reporter that if they can make a woman into a man, then anything is possible.
He'd probably get cancelled for saying something like that these days.

Never won a race but never lost a party...he said he ran number 0 because he had 0 chance of winning.
God speed Delma 😔😔🏁🏁
Met him many times and he was always in the middle of fun no doubt
I like that guy.
Nothing fit the template but I'd bet anything he bought another teams old car that happened to pass inspection for earlier races
Rest in Peace, Delma…
Rest in peace Delma 😔
Race in paradise, Delma! We will keep the party going down here 😔🤟🏻
Any races he did well with the green and white car
Hope he didn't have any peanut shells on the floorboard.......
@@NVRAMboi I never asked about peanuts?
@@canadiancatgreen Years ago a friend told me that peanut shells in the race car (like green cars) were supposed to be a bad omen.
Probably just myth.
@@NVRAMboi oh ok thx
Finished 25th in the 1992 Daytona 500
I was totally unaware of this gentleman and this story. I'm so glad it popped up. I really enjoyed it.

That’s what made nascar great
This was awesome. 👍🏻
RIP to my hometown hero
When racing was real reason to race
Looks like it was 95. Ernie Irvan sitting in the pit lane and Jarrett driving the 28.
And Sterling driving the #4 car. In which he won the 500.
Cheat better next time.
But partying is more fun
