You can have all of the money in the world and no talent and make it in NASCAR but if you have all of the talent in the world and no money you won't make it in NASCAR.
@@bradsanders407yea sure can . Grow up with a rich grandpa/ team owner an they'll get a free ride, no talent required. No hard work, no hustle an that's exactly why they have no fans now. Empty seats at tracks that were sold out 5 years in advance should tell you all you need to know

I came across Mr.Delma back in the day, running at Oglethorpe Speedway in Pooler Georgia right outside Savannah. He was always a good dude good ol fella enjoy the time around him. Old Dalma would race with a shopping cart if you wanted.
Rest in peace, Delma Cowart. He always tried his hardest and gave it his all in a sport he truly loved. Long live the Master's Inn Ford and the man that drove it. The man loved to race and he liked to party too. God speed.
I didn’t start watching NASCAR until til 1993. I pulled for Delma to qualify for a cup race every time he attempted! Unfortunately, I only got to see him run a few ARCA races
This is back when NASCAR was true WINSTON CUP racing. Delma made me proud to be from Georgia. This crap they have today is a JOKE. Most of the drivers are a joke. It’s why I quit watching over 20 years ago. RIP NASCAR WINSTON CUP.
Mascar was built in guys just as determined as this man,, they love to tell the history of nascar,, but wouldn't let this man with that kinda guts and courage,, to get a chance ,, money ruined nascar!!!

Delma was a special man. "He may never have won a race, but he never lost a party"
R.I.P Mr. Cowart.
Put that dude on Fox as announcer. He would be better than the crew they have now.
Race in peace, Delma. Gonna be one hell of a party at the superspeedway in the sky.

My dad used to race there and fun fact I’m related to him

I was totally unaware of this gentleman and this story. I'm so glad it popped up. I really enjoyed it.
Never won a race, but never lost a party as well.
best comment here.
Now someone stole your comment for their own video
@@TheMW2informer you say that MW2 but that's a quote from the man himself, because who else would come up with a such a phrase? lol
The King Mansplainer where does Delma say that?

Never won a race but never lost a party...he said he ran number 0 because he had 0 chance of winning.
I remember when he made the field for the 1992 Daytona 500. He told a reporter that if they can make a woman into a man, then anything is possible.
He'd probably get cancelled for saying something like that these days.
But they can't
RIP Delma.
Never won a race, never lost a party.
That’s a real racer right there!!!
I'm sure there is a hell of a party roaring on tonight at that big racetrack in the sky. RIP to a colorful fella.
Met him many times and he was always in the middle of fun no doubt
Delma Cowart was a true racer ,his heart was in it strong.God Bless those who try so hard
That’s what made nascar great
Classic look at NASCAR n 1995. Amazing that he could qualify for the preliminary race.
“If you need it and I dont have it then you dont need it.” HAHAHAHA
I would have loved to been a part of his race team. Down to earth!!!
I never heard of Delma until this video. Seems like a great guy!! 🤘🏼🇺🇸🇺🇸
Patton said “I’ll be back and I’ll be stronger” like Col. Sanders said “I’m too drunk to taste this chicken”.
Race in paradise, Delma! We will keep the party going down here 😔🤟🏻
God speed Delma 😔😔🏁🏁

If I were one of the owners at that time. Id have helped the hell out of that man.
RIP, Clinton “Delma” Cowart. 1941 - 2021
I like that guy.
Good Ol’ Savannah Boy… RIP Ol’ Boy. Would have loved to meet you. From one Savannah boy to another.
Rest in Peace, Delma…
Cool upload man
This is what would happen if I built a nascar in my backyard
He came 4 the party and stayed 4 the party
These are the Drivers that Nascar was meant to be for, sadly it is about nothing but money, The sport has lost where it came from.
"Something would have to happen to all 39 cars in front of me." That's the part I found the funniest. That's classic.
Rest in peace Delma 😔

3 top 20s in cup. Still quite an accomplishment.

Money is why motorsports is thriving stop being so incompetent
I don't see Motorsports "thriving" anywhere across the world....much less NA$¢A®....the only people thriving are the France family.

Bravo! My sentiments exactly.
This was when NASCAR was a great, today you would never see a low-end race team get these chances.
Nothing fit the template but I'd bet anything he bought another teams old car that happened to pass inspection for earlier races
Rip
Any races he did well with the green and white car
Hope he didn't have any peanut shells on the floorboard.......
