Just in case anybody may doubt if these exercises are fertile, they are! My teacher introduced me to this approach in the early 90's. These and other exercises of that kind are in my practice routine ever since. Great stuff Justin! I'm glad someone finally picks up on this subject. 👍

Even muted sounds good! Thanks for this, don't know if I have the amount of stamina required for it, but I'll give it a try!

quite incredible Kiko Lourero has this cool arpeggiated ideas with muted strings where you focus only on right hand🎉

love your videeos Justin! And this one too, even though 5 mins a day is realistically not gonna do much for a developing player....in my opinion if you are putting that little time into guitar or even counting the mins , then brutal truth is you're not committed enough or serious enough to reach your guitar goals. Because average people regardless of profession or living situation have even 30 mins to 1 hour of spare time total in a day....its just a matter of where that goes (netflix and chill, phone, social media, gaming) Phase out the distractions and achieve yourr goals!

Exactly about this, I will release a video tomorrow. Because especially with workouts you have to be a bit carefully when it comes to the learning curve

Awesome exercise, but even better I learned a new Guitar Pro trick -> The "Screen - Horizontal" View. This will save some time when making guitar tab videos :))

This reminds me of the old lined paper exercises in elementary school when we would write the same letters over and over. Also, I can hardly comprehend playing the triplet part at that tempo with that level of cleanliness.

awesome exercise. in the beginning I muted the strings with my picking hand but in the mid section I stuck. So here was the key to mute with the other hand then I was much more relaxed. before that I always turned the wrist of my picking more down and down to the lower strings but to move the whole arm floating over the strings is much better

I think "Goddammit" everytime I grab the guitar, regardless my working day. However, thank you for this very effective workout, I can already notice an improvement in my alternate picking after a couple of weeks.

As a shredder that isn’t good with hybrid picking (or finger picking due to tendinitis) I used this workout with hybrid picking instead of alternate and it has been helpful. It’s intense using either technique

Awesome! No notes, but loved the way it sounded. Reminded me of old school video game music.

This is a great workout! I did not pace myself enough however and the triplets made me tapout early. Will steel my resolve and try again later. Cheers.

Like drum paradiddles for the pick. I use a medium delrin .71 mm pick which catches easier on the thinner strings. I may play the fifth and second strings then sixth and third etc.
As i play left and right the picking hand will be either the left or right depending on the guitar. I mostly play left as idea generation is far easier.

I guess there are musical genres out there where that guitarpro track counts as a legit melody 😁

If you put some synth behind this, you could make an 80's new wave band Justin! The include some pinks and purples and 8 bit graphics.
