- Welcome to Episode 2 of "Modern Cats, Vintage Glass". The second installment of videos featuring random moments the daily lives of our cats Buddy, Puss, and Cheebo. Episode 2 was shot entirely with the Nikon Nikkor-N Auto 24mm, f/2.8 lens which definitely has its quirks but can be a joy to use. Flaring can be harsh, but is very predictable. Distortion is a evident but a really close minimum focus distance makes it worth putting up with.
If you're looking for a fast 24mm vintage lens, the Nikon Nikkor-N Auto 24mm f/2.8 is an affortdable lens that, once you learn its shortcomings, can be a great lens to work with. When buying in person, it's important to examine the glass elements carefully and ensure that the aperture and focus rings work as they should. When I buy online I only buy from sellers with 500+ sales and a 98% or better satisfaction rating.

Great shots of lovely cats- Philip Bloom would be proud!
HA - the highest praise ever! I cannot deny the influence Philip has had on me. I actually sent him the link to this video but sadly got no reply.
Thanks for watching.
I revisited your GH06 Tripod head video and noticed the series of "Modern Cat "videos and thought they were great cheers!@@MattSpaugh
@@pp_motorsportvideo thanks. Those are fun to do. That 24mm Nikon-N surprised me. I've got another one finished that uses the Canon FD 55mm f/1.2. Should drop in a week or so.
I've got another tripod video that's about to hit too. An Innorel carbon fiber that I've been using for a few months. Really loving it.
Thanks for watching!
