Thanks for getting this review out so quickly. I played the ball yesterday, and 100% on the durability. I have a bit of rust to shake off due to lack of playing, but I had some good results when making good contact. These balls I zipped off my PXG 0211 hybrids. Was getting 115-125 with my PW. I’m 69. I shared your experience with the putts. Very quick off the club. My only sub 80 round in my life came earlier this year with the original PXG. Thanks for doing this channel.
I cannot remember the last time I have seen you have fun on a review. It is blast to watch and reminds me why I got addicted to this channel. The pure joy on your face when a golf ball just works for you is why the this silly sport keeps us coming back. But I do have to say that asking buyers to shell out over 100 dollars for golf balls (to get the best price) for a direct to consumer brand is a very big leap of faith. I know PXG is quality, but most consumers do not. Interesting to see what kind of success they have.
Thank you very much. I agree it was fun to test a really good golf ball again. Feels like it had been a hot minute. I agree that bulk pricing can be a dual-edged sword. If you just want to try the golf ball it's really tough.
@@sully-u3f Excellent suggestion. I live in Illinois and intend to golf so long as a course is silly enough to stay open. But yeah, a golf ball that will react a little better in winter time would be really handy.
The store in Charlotte is running a promotion - schedule a putter or other club fitting, you get a free box of the Tours or Tour X, even if you don’t order a club afterwards. No charge for the fitting, either. I tested the new Allan putter.
Again fantastic marketing. Get people into just use your clubs. The more people try them out, the more people that will buy them. Yeah you got to eat some cost on the golf balls, but it's a lot cheaper than online advertisement.
Great review. I've definitely become a convert when it comes to using one ball for putting. When I recently switched to the vice pro plus I fell in love with how the ball stuck the green like a magnet, but putting with it was light years different than what I had been using. Not bad at all, and I really enjoy it now, but it lacked the pop I was used to and there was a learning curve for sure. PXG seems like a cool company and it'll interesting to see how they develop over time, but it would take Vice discontinuing the pro plus for me to switch at the moment. Got to love the honeymoon phase.
That honeymoon phase has lasted a long time for me as well. I reviewed those balls 6 months ago and I still use them on the course and am are amazed at how well they perform
I did hear this. Honestly I'm excited but also dreading it. I hope it's an improvement but at the same time if it's not the Kirkland diehards will come out once again 😞
Wow...I commented on you old video recently because I got the free dozen of their first model. Love seeing this ball feels softer because that is the one thing preventing it from taking over Snell stock, just don't like the hard feel around the greens. I also played a course last weekend with really hard greens and felt like some spin/stopping capability was left on the table. I think I am going to pick these up based on these numbers, really like the Callaway Chrome Tour but not going to over think it. Thanks!
@@GolfBallAddict what shaft is in your Mizuno driver? I've been eyeballing it for a while since they can be had for fairly cheap. Thanks, appreciate all your content!
I went to PXG clubs and recieved the PXG Extreme golf balls for the purchase. Love the clubs and golf balls. The only thing is the heavy feeling. The is excellent on pitch/chipping and putting. The spin was great and I was able to stop it in place at times on the green. The price will turn some off and the heavy feel I believe will turn others off. But it is a great golf ball. PXG is a great company ! Experience during fitting was the best !
Wow another serious ball to consider; Very efficient performance. $33.33/dzn makes sense with B2G1 deal. From season 4 data, - 9i: 2nd fastest ball speed & the FASTEST S/F - 7i: the FASTEST ball speed and 3rd fastest S/F - Driver: the FASTEST ball speed, 3rd longest carry, and 2nd longest total distance
Lazrus has an interesting ball in the market. $20 on Amazon for a dozen urethane golf balls. Would love to see your review. BTW - have been using the Cut Red golf balls for the last 2 years. Like you have mentioned in your review, those balls are long, forgiving and cheap. Just picked up a dozen Wilson Boost balls, can't wait to try them out!
Awesome stuff. Please let me know how you end up liking the boost. I also still love the cut red even though there's some durability issues here and there. I have ordered the Lazarus golf balls and I will be testing them before the season's over
I grabbed a box of the original balls and liked them. Lucky to have a PXG store 5mins from my job in Indy. I game a sugar daddy 52° as well. Great equipment 🤙
Have PXG irons and 3-wood and driver. I really love the fitting process and the reviews of PXG equipment have shown PXG to be on par with most OEMs. Great equipment and my fitting experiences have been stellar...but my gosh, I really intensely dislike PXGs marketing (Heroes discounts aside, of course). I buy their stuff in spite of the PXG bro vibe and lousy marketing...that's a testament to how much I like their gear.
Yeah I suppose not everyone's going to like the golf bro approach. However I do appreciate it more because they support who they support. I see a lot of golf bro brands that are just playing vulgar. I've also heard the fitting process is amazing. I'd love to go try it sometime
I don't know too much about PXG, it just seems that everything they manufacture is top class. Not seen any for sale here in Thailand but I would try. Stick with the Inesis for the time being. Thanks for the video Nick.
@golfballaddict How would your rate your golf swing at this point compared to 6-8 months prior? Do you think an improved swing and strike would impact the ball performance? Just sayin, some of your more recent content shows ball data that would be considered outside your norm. Thanks
That's a good question. Honestly it's a dual-edged sword. I've increased my swing speed and been able to hit the ball a lot farther. However my accuracy has gone down quite a bit. I struggle with two strong of a draw and up left a lot. Sometimes even the occasional hook. I'm getting it worked out slowly but surely.
I play the original PXG ball and like: it. It was really firm. I saw some estimates online between 98-103 compression. It didn’t play quite that hard though. The cover was 7/10 durability on original. I have heard the new Xtreme tour and Tour X are actually softer than original and cover is better. How do you compare this to original PXG ball?
It definitely does feel a tad softer. I don't know about a whole bunch but you can tell there's a significant improvement made. I think the biggest thing for me is the improvement in forgiveness and consistency. They really took a lot of the dispersion away and even increase the ball mile per hour speed quite a bit.
Off the top of my head, that does make sense. I would say the pxg launches maybe a tad higher which I like, and as far as the putting and short game performance I think the pxg has the edge as well. But you are correct in thinking they are close.
We will find out soon enough. You are 100% right about the five piece thing too. It's always felt a little heavier and the X model has always felt like a boulder
@ I meant the new ‘24 TP5 felt so much better and didn’t have the heaviness of the PXG (at least in my course test). I have actually started gaming the new TP5. Incredible spin around the greens and feels soft off of all the clubs.
That's a deal that's going to have a lot of people head turning. The fact that you can get AAA golf brand golf balls for $30 a dozen could sway a few people
@@GolfBallAddict Absolutely! I would say the best route if anyone wants to try anything PXG along with the balls is to go in for a $25 fitting and walk out with a free box of either Tour or Tour X balls. Even better deal if you don't fall in love with the clubs and end up buying them!

Hey Nick. Great review.
The winter is coming (and I live in New England) so any chance to get a cold weather ball suggestion video?

That was what my testing discovered as well. I would love to go do a fitting sometime just to see how the experience is
@@GolfBallAddict it’s the best, in my opinion. Had a fitting at PGA Superstore, Golf Galaxy, and Club Champion. PXG was way better!
Sounds so good of the putter

- 7i: the FASTEST ball speed and 3rd fastest S/F

Those clubs look really sweet.
Great review but too good a ball for me - I am just not good enough. Do they make a ball for the 10-12 handicap?
At 10-12 handicap you are. You are an above average player. 15 is the average us handicap.
At that handicap I think you can get by playing it. Just depends on the course you are playing. Could be worth a shot if you find one on the course
