Maplestory is a great game run by a not so great company, if anyone saw this and wants to play maplestory again I'd suggest you to play at your own pace and don't get caught up with fomo.
Yeah as a maplestory player for almost 18 years at this point, it's literally a casino targeted toward children and was banned in many places in the EU for legally being considered child-gambling.

Nexon is terrible to their players. However maplestory is amazing. I would say as a 12 year long player, play the game at your own pace and don’t spend if you really don’t need to. Especially if you’re on reboot. Even on reg it’s not worth… RIP frenzy funding

You're really hard-pressed to find someone who plays this game that's under 20 since a lot of the playerbase are people who played the game when they were younger in the mid to late 2000s and come back for nostalgia reasons, and even then, the "casino" part doesn't really work either because the majority of the playerbase is condensed into reboot where the only "roulette wheel" you're really spinning is for cosmetic items. Things like CS:GO gambling sites are and were "casinos targeted towards children," Maplestory not so much.
the company basically can't make any money outside gambling, reboot has great potential yet it is going down the toilet to kick players out
I missed MapleStory 2, it was so fun seeing you and your friends play that and show off your cute characters...but MapleStory 1 has always been the goat for me(when playing at my own pace lol).

Especially when, after all this time, my highest character was only 227 😅

@user-pv1nl4qp1g I just never liked the 5 button game with diagonals and a center button, nor the shuffling game lol. Seeing a classic pad like that to me is like seeing an N64 with sm64 or golden eye in it

As someone who worked at NEXON Korea a couple years back, I think the overall office aesthetics looks quite better in the states. Maybe it's because the redid their interiors recently? Idk.
I wish we could get the display arms too, but they didn't give us that by default in korea. Well, the monitors were pretty good enough to have hinges out of the box, so it wasn't a big deal.
The korean branch has pretty dope cafeteria btw. A cup of iced americano was less than a dollar. (1000KRW) And you don't have to pay by cash. You get free 'points' each month, which you can use to buy coffee or bread at the cafeteria. The bread they make was so good, I always emptied my points every month. Ahh good times. good times.
I like that they gave you free in work currency to use.

@@Morisato13 yeah it was cool, but not unlimited. When you hit zero in balance, the more you splurge on coffee and fancy bread, the more will be deducted from your salary. I have seen a couple hundred dollars deducted from colleagues.
so they treated employees like kings but customers like shit. I'm not surprised.
