    I'm really shocked how much of this resonates with my experience. I've never been able to explain or understand why I am bad at things and slower at grasping things. I've always done well at school and work however felt like I've had to work so hard at it and things don't come as quickly as others and I do frustrate some impaitent colleagues. Also incredibly clumsy. I find I walk into furniture or hit things on the wall with arms/hip, spilling food on myself. I have anxiety and have had a ton of phobias from childhood though I have overcome several. I can be quite obsessive about things, especially things I'm anxious about. I'm bad at games that require quick responses like shooting or driving, riding a bike took ages, and I'm a terrible ungraceful dancer and struggle with picking up complicated moves. Never understood how people do it without loads of practice. I am not sure what the benefits of a diagnosis would be however but it's good to read/hear about

    I was diagnosed as an adult, when attempting to (finally!) get my GCSE in Maths. I was tested by student support following a number of tests, diagnosed and given 25 per cent extra time to sit the exams. Pleased to say I passed after years of thinking I was just dim! I am here to find out a bit more and to say thank you for your website and work.

    Im dyspraxic... I never found directions to anything much of an issue. When you showed question no.4 though asking for the left hand... I am a bit confused. My initial thought well... obviously the hand on the left of the screen? However if I look at my own hands with the palms facing my face, the hand which is on the right hand side of the screen corresponds with my left hand (is this the one you meant?). Isnt the question a bit of a trick as it is dependant on the way an individual visualises/ percieves the hands or the question even?

    I was always the last out to recess everytime when i was little because i struggled heavily to tie my shoes. I was always the last to hand in a test. And i am kind of ambidextrous, i play sports (baseball, golf, etc) Lefty, but i write w Right hand, but i kinda use each like 40% L & 60% R hand.
    So this is so crazy accurate for me

      It's fascinating how your experiences resonate with many aspects of neurodiversity, like fine motor skill challenges and ambidexterity. You're not alone; many people with conditions like dyspraxia or ADHD face similar situations. Your adaptability in using both hands for different tasks is actually a unique strength! Thanks for sharing your story; it helps others feel seen and understood. 👍

      I'm sorry to hear your son is having a tough time. It's important to address this issue with the school to ensure he receives the support and understanding he needs. Consider scheduling a meeting with his teachers and school administrators to discuss his dyspraxia and how they can better accommodate his needs. Bringing in documentation from a healthcare professional can also help in advocating for your son. Additionally, exploring local support groups or resources for dyspraxia in Windsor might provide further assistance and community support.

      Ah I feel your pain! Individuals with dyspraxia may benefit from working with occupational therapists or other healthcare professionals to develop strategies for improving coordination and managing any related discomfort or anxiety. It's also important to remember that dyspraxia is a common condition, and seeking support and connecting with others who share similar experiences can be helpful in coping with any challenges that may arise. ^_^

    i came to this video as quite a few people now have said i seem to be austisic or have dyspraxia or have ADHD i thought this was just people trying to be "quirky" but actually looking into it i feel i may be autisic and/or have dyspraxia. i mean i ride a motorbike with ease but my hand eye coordination with things like typing and writing is absolutley horrible. i can stuggle to pick things up litterally and metaphorically. the worst one is really embarrsing for me where i try to drink and can over correct the movement of a bottle being drank and loss of fluid in the container causing me to spill a drink over myself. its like there is a disconnect, which is very annoying as someone who does physical work.
    i have no diagnosis and think i may consider going to the NHS and seeing if it worth trying to get a diagnosis
    Edit:halfway through the video, memery retention is something i have very little of. didn't know this had anything to do with dyspraxia

    • @ExceptionalIndividuals
      @ExceptionalIndividuals  Год назад

      It's understandable to have concerns about whether you may have conditions like autism or dyspraxia, especially if you've noticed difficulties with coordination, memory retention, or other symptoms. It's important to take these concerns seriously and to consider seeking a diagnosis from a qualified healthcare professional.
      A diagnosis can help you better understand your symptoms and identify any potential accommodations or support that could be helpful for you. While seeking a diagnosis can feel overwhelming, the NHS may have resources available to help you navigate the process.
      Remember, having a diagnosis does not define you, but it can provide valuable insights and support that can help you thrive. It takes courage to seek a diagnosis, but it can also be a powerful step towards greater self-awareness and personal growth.

    Hello, my name is Emma (I’m a teenager) and I watched a video on Dyscalculia and realised that I most likely have it. My mum also said that I might be a bit dyspraxic, due to my 9 months of hospital as a premature baby. I couldn’t ride a scooter in the first year of primary school. The school were very worried but my mum said that the reason was my problems at childbirth.
    Coming to my latest pointers, I am not very good at riding my bike, taking ages to tie my shoelaces and genuinely struggle with using my hands to do anything. Of course this done not mean that I am dyspraxic, but I list wanted to say that this video has really helped me, so thank you!!! 💕💕💕💕 Lots of love from Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿
