    I love how they call their "Slide-and-Stow" and heated second row seats industry first. Because it's not like Dodge and Chrysler had their "Stow-and-go" and heated second row seats or anything...

      I also like how say Chrysler only has a 3rd of the market, even though they're planning to replace the Grand Caravan with a "crossover" they still currently have half the market combined.

      Its because its the first MPV to have slide and stow and heated second row seats. It also happens to be the first MPV.

    As good as this "MPV" looks it's still no threat to the honda Odyssey or sienna.

    • @velboone6041
      @velboone6041 9 лет назад

      It's very much competition. The only thing the sienna has over this is AWD an the odyssey a shop vac...

      Vel Boone Not so, gas mileage sucks for a "new" van, not much space then competitors, only thing it has is looks .

      Pedro Pedrosoy My comment was made almost a month ago you're irrelevant to w.e you have to say, and its odyssey not oddisey. Have a nice day.

    Why name it after your previous minivan and compare it to other minivans if it's not a minivan. It's a minivan and a stylish one too, just own it Kia.

  • @MrAnalFace
    @MrAnalFace 10 лет назад +1

    So he's saying it's not a minivan, and it's not a crossover, but somewhere in between. Well that's exactly what a crossover is, a cross between two vehicle classes. Based on what the vehicle is I'd call it a minivan. If it's not a minivan, but something in between two vehicle classes, then it's a crossover.

    • @dchawk81

      Apparently it's a crossover crossover suvivan utility vehicle.

    I think they were wrong about the Nissan Quest being discontinued, because Nissan didn't specifically say they're killing the Quest. Nissan said that they have killed the Cube and Murano CrossCabriolet because of sluggish sales. Plus the 2015 model has better fuel economy with 20 mpg city and 27 mpg highway, close to Honda Odyssey territory. If Kia put a 9 speed automatic transmission, it will have quick, but smoother shifts and better fuel economy.

      We love our new Nissan Quest LE and I hope Nissan stays in the minivan market... The Quest stands out- the Kia Sedona looks nice too...

  • @ellomirza

    Why are minivan seats so heavy? Why not make them removable and much lighter? Surely that'd be good for fuel economy too?

    • @kc5077
      @kc5077 10 лет назад

      The seats are heavy because of more padding, Chrysler seats are lighter (non-removable but foldable) but you can feel how thin they are.

    • @ellomirza
      @ellomirza 10 лет назад

      Kamaka Chang I really doubt it's the padding. In any case if I won the lottery I'd take a minivan to some tuner to make it out of magnesium, aluminium and carbon fiber but keep the stock motor just to see what would happen. The rest would go up my nose :-)

    • @dchawk81
      @dchawk81 10 лет назад

      ellomirza ORRRRRR you could just buy the motor and have a custom chassis made. Because that's exactly what would happen.

    It's still a 200+ inch long bus. It's OK to drive every once in awhile but driving one everyday gets old.

    the transit really isn't a van I don't know why they put that on their slide show it's more like a hybrid station wagon then a mini van since it shares the focus platform. even when you look at a transit you don't think mini van but more of a station wagon with a high top roof.

    This thing is selling like hot cakes over in Korea, where it comes only with a diesel, which they should really offer in North America.

      Leather is optional on higher trim levels of the Sedona. Maybe parents with tweens or teens with a lot of money would buy a minivan with leather seats.

    The standing next to the tailgate and opening feature is dumb. what if you are standing behind it just talking to someone then it will open when you do not want it to. This VAN is no where near innovative.

    • @evidencebased1
      @evidencebased1 9 лет назад

      I was wondering the same thing. How does it know when you don't want to open the tailgate?

    • @1969fordltd
      @1969fordltd 9 лет назад

      I don't think there's a way to have it not open when you are standing behind it. Unless you disable it but, then that defeats the purpose.

    • @evidencebased1
      @evidencebased1 9 лет назад

      Well, I guess we will have to check out the feature at our KIA dealer. That WOULD BE dumb if you found yourself opening the tailgate unwanted while standing there. BTW, pointing out a suspect feature does not make you a hater imho.

    • @1969fordltd
      @1969fordltd 9 лет назад

      Yeah, that a good idea. But it`s not the first time a manufacturer made a feature w/ problems and thank you.

    Wow! This car deserves an award, for being the most useless shit on the market

  • @aaronbehindbars
    @aaronbehindbars 10 лет назад

    Call it what you want, but it's a minivan. Looks like solid competition to the remaining players in that market, but meh. Kia may be making great strides with this and their other cars, but as long as their dealer network is doing everything it can to sabotage Kia's efforts to move up-market, all be be for nothing. A great start would be to knock off the loud-mouth screaming commercials for the $99/month Rios and Souls which might keep from offending potential buyers looking to spend $40-60k on a Cadenza or K900 (that name isn't doing them any favors). Something tells me the upscale customers aren't going to take kindly to waiting in a showroom with the 500 FICO meth head who is trying to roll $10k negative equity into a $13k Soul or sitting in the service department waiting room with screaming, undisciplined kids and their mommy who gives zero fucks.
