Wow... The fact that this gem is buried so deeply in the worldwide chaos that it might just go almost unnoticed certainly proves that the devil is real.
It was hilarious. I saw him play this for the first time live. The audience was partially shocked. "The Devil Us Real"? By our blessed Apostate!! He explained. Don't Recall. I think he wanted a little shock value. Ha! He's so awesome.
Just Wow ! 1. I am so happy to see the date and that Passim was able to pull off a Smither show in late January of this year/2021. 2. the (last time) I saw Chris play was at the 'Me and Thee' in Marblehead a cpl seasons ago. I waited till he did all his 'meet an greet' and hustling of 'merch'. Then I spoke with with him. He said come on back an let's chat while I pack my gear. I had the immense privilege to sit in that same back room as I had from the time was a 10 yr old boy (when the Coffee house first opened my Dad was the door man (cough, security/bouncer) and my mom was volunteering in the kitchen). I told him that I had his music ingrained in me (My dad brought home 'Don't it drag on' when I maybe 11 yrs old). I told him of how both his dark lyrics had sustained me through some of my dark times and his whimsical stuff had always lifted my creative spirit. He asked what 'got me through' ? I started into "...Well Monday seemed seven days long last week ...N Tuesday's only half way there..." he joined in and together, ...Capella we sang "Well noon time crawled past past Tuesday and Wednesday only gently abused me. We just slide on through. Yuh know, The rest don't get to me now... He is a living legend ! He is such a whole human He has influenced my life for half a century. All my Aloha C.S !

November 11, 2023 - Armistice Day
In loving memory of the 20 million killed in WW I - total deaths including civilians
80 million in WW II
2 million 300 thousand in Korea
1 million 363 thousand in Vietnam
all the fallen in the Middle East
Armistice Day
In honor of all who serve
Thank you for the lives you save
and the freedoms your love gave
Warriors for the good
the good of humankind
the kind of courage that would
give their lives for us anytime
they'd do more if they could
'Our' great warriors of America
We are so grateful for all you've done
and we're ready to give back
to every American daughter and son
that braved an enemy attack
to help you heal
till you can celebrate yourselves with us
your courage and your zeal
We worship adore and cherish
each and every one of you
and we'll never forget
all the trauma you went through
the blood the gore
with you we will ask
"what for"
and we'll call them to task
when they're called to answer
the questions they'll ask
will not alter 'Our' course
as we help rebuild your pride
and you'll all get rides
in the parades where freedom
in America and the World resides
safe in the bosom of peace and love
for 'Our' great sisters and brothers
who rise above
that fight for us all
we will accept no others
we celebrate those not afraid of the fall
we will stand with and uphold you all
and you will get your benefits
and those cowards never will prevail
that try to deny what you won with courage
'Our' birthright
'Our' heritage
you all wear the heroes badge
we will fight with you all the way
and we will celebrate you all
on 'Armistice Day'
With love and deep gratitude, The Colvin Family
