Thing that worries me with small lights like this, is theft. Id be so easy for someone at an event to just stick one in their bag while you're djing. Well I guess light does attract attention and it be fairly visible, seeing that a light just went off would be noticeable and no one would really steal at a wedding. But I can still see kids grabbing one of those and playing with them which worries me with a 150$ light.
Sadiquecat, that’s always an issue with kids. My uplights sit on the floor and i added a velcro strap between the legs so they dont crash to the floor when kids, especially unsupervised toddlers push or try to sit on them, plus i added a black label with white lettering that says “Cost of Light, $200.” So, after picking up their kid and moving them away, i get a lot of “oh, im sorry.”
You have to keep them in your performance area where you can keep an eye on them. I would not recommend putting them all over the venue. And once you turn them off they need to go straight into your bag or case. I just learn to that as I had to pick one up from a venue because I forgot it. They're really easy to lose track of once they are turned off.
I did put them to the test at my daughter's wedding last weekend that was at a Mexican restaurant. The tent was in the parking lot & the restaurant was still open to the public, as was the parking lot. Used all 12 of them in the dining tent, which was used for a conversation / chill out area once things moved inside. Lots of people, lots of little kids. Nothing was stolen or damaged. Call it luck or whatever. I do agree that the best place to use these particular fixtures, to be safe, is near your performance area. It did work out for us on Saturday, though.

Great video!! I preferred the frosted lenses in music mode. I have six cans and four coins (that I use under my console). Your video made me think about using the frosted lenses sometimes. Thanks!!

they do that by default, hence the patent: "MusikMode". each listens to a different frequency in the music, and supposedly they do communicate with each other in real time to "plan the show" if i may say so

Thank you Brian! If you have a chance, I'd also love to see the Light Can, Mini, Maxi and Light Stick compared side by side, specifically for light output and degree. It would be very useful to decide which lights to start with and which applications they may be best suited for. Some venues I do don't dim the lights as low as others, so I'm wondering if the Cans will do the trick, if the Minis have the same output since they seem to use the same diode, or if the Maxis are the best bet for overall use. It's 124$ just for one but you can get it for less if you buy from KPODJ. If you're just buying the solo you would need to buy the charger, remote, and 6 AA rechargeable batteries per can too.

@@EpicSoundandLights They are actually RGBA, but with the macros, I haven't been at a loss with the colors I need. For instance, I can catch a few different Ambers along with hot pink right off of the remote. You can catch even more with the W APP & it's color picker
I bought the four pack from kpodj @ 440 for each. They have the lowest prices I can find but do not advertise. You just have to email them and get a quote. To me, the lights that come in a case are just too dang expensive and for something small like the can it's not really necessary... You can just toss them in an unused pouch of a bag you already have. I saved almost a thousand by ordering through kpodj and not getting the tour pack. Plus you get extra remotes when you get the four packs. That would be my advice!

One more technical question regarding the W-App, can I integrate the W-App with Mydmx-Go? And if so, when connected, can I control the lights via the Mydmx-Go, W-App color picker, or RF remote at will? I'd love to set the cans to music mode, but then, be able to override with a scene I've set in Mydmx-Go so they match my Chauvet Colorwash Fx's, and then go back to music mode or pick a color with the W-App!
@@masterpdj2623 you can get some good basic colors with the remote, but yes you'll have to get the app and all the proprietary equipment along with it to do exact color matching.
There are "wraps" available in black & white that they call "Tuxedos". I couldn't get everything in one introduction video & I know you have a lot of questions & concerns. I do believe that I can answer most of them in future videos

I use the cans and they are great for small rooms. I only use them in my performance area though as they are easy to lose (or have stolen). You will need something bigger and brighter to uplight a large space.
@@andrewperez2589 Having them kicked over or stolen, is a concern of mine. I like that the Maxi's have a Kensington lock on them, but I wonder what you'd lock them to in most situations... I thought about a 5lb weight or something, but that's literally extra weight to carry around... First world problems... Lol
I think a person could with the 10 degree lens & get more of the look you might be used to getting. However, I did it last weekend with the fresnel lenses in a tent for my daughter's wedding. There were no other lights in there after dark & it worked really well. Was going to throw some pictures up & talk about that here, but this video is long enough. I'll get those shots in the next video
@@briansredd they look great in a dark room but they don't put off a lot of light. If you're going for a nice accent effect without being overbearing they are great. They are not a substitute for a traditional up light that can get really bright though.

You also get more bang for your buck if you buy the bundles as opposed to if you tried to buy them individually. What other lights can you name that can resist liquids being spilled on them, resist 100 pounds + of pressure, give a DMX'ed seeming light show via remote with out actual DMXing, all at the same time ?

I’ve flipped the fresnel lens around and it gives you a “V” just not as sharp. It’s pretty cool. Try it.
