Exactly the same thing for me. Worked for years and suddenly dead. First test of video worked, so I had a look at the tail piece and saw that is was super loose. Thightened it and it works again!

Thank you for this video. I decided to make an EDC kit in a small tac bag and wanted to include the PD35. Only trouble is that it wasn’t working. I tightened the tail switch and boom! I have a working light again!
Another tip. Make sure you're using a button top battery and not a flat top battery. I thought my UC35 V2 was broken after I swapped batteries to a flat top 18650. It seems that it requires a button top battery.

I have a Fenix E25 where the switch is on the side of the light which screws off at the top. I cant leave it twisted closed which then it seems to short out batteries, killing them. Eneloops just made it worse, i got a burning smell which i stopped using them. It also wont work in turbo or high. Eventually ill have to replace it but seems to be a pretty bad problem if its cooking batteries. I don't yet know of a durable replacement 2AA light that will handle abuse (being dropped/submerged in water) which is why im just using this light. It gets dropped on concrete and still works.

Love the flashlight but disappointed it didn’t work coming out of the box. We are paying a premium for your product so they should test them in the factory before shipping.
TK65R Users, For those with the TK65R, there's two black plastic caps one on the inside of the light and one on the end cap. They have to removed in order for it to work.
The instruction say that my TK 16 version two already has a gasket installed. Can you tell me where the gasket is installed? Because it doesn’t look like there’s any gaskets in this unit. And it did come with two gaskets in a plastic bag
So, what if you *can't* get the light to turn on with the paperclip? The LED is not broken, it sill works sometimes, when I disassemble and reassemble...
My Fenix TK16 goes into Strobe mode when I use the paperclip, its intermittant though. This was supposed to be a great flashlight. I guess its FUBAR, not just the tail cap it is tight. My secondary button won t click anymore either smh
My PD25R has a really strange issue. It randomly stops working even when charged, and only resumes working when i connect it to a charger, even for a second, disconnect, and then it works again. Tried tightening the tailswitch but it didn't help. It's not even 1 year old.
My light turns on, switches settings, but will not stay on the brightest setting and automatically changes to the less bright setting 1-2 seconds after being on the brightest. All other settings work fine. Obviously I fully charged it but it still won't stay on brightest setting. Any ideas? Faulty battery perhaps? Thanks
What about my pd32 which doesn't have indents in the tail cap? It has a small inner plastic piece around the spring but turning it doesn't seem to tighten or loosen anything.
That is a newer style tail cap that doesn't come loose like these traditional silver rings do. If you're having a power issue with your light, first check your batteries and then contact our customer service team to file a warranty claim!
Gen 1 e12 ive had for maybe 3 yrs. I use it a lot every day and am lost without it. Started heating up and running through alkaline batteries in day or two of medium to heavy use. Any suggedtions?...thnx

@@tjmcdonald6743 I know one thing that sucks is the dinner switch up by the light head takes 5 minutes to find in the dark. You aren't adjusting your intensity on the go. You better have your pinky on the button before you thumb the end cap. That part sucks and mine has no charge indicator when plugged in and I've had it 3 months.
None of this addressed my problem. The batteries were low, so I changed them. The light wouldn't come on, so I put the old batteries back in. Strangely, no light now. They were dim, but not dead. Tried a third set of batteries, and no go. I then tried all the suggestions here, with no luck. What's going on? It's got be something simple, right? What am I missing? any help would be appreciated. I would first suggest that you try another battery. If the protection circuit in the battery has gone bad it could be feeding too much energy to the light and overriding the digital switch. That being said, it is more likely that the switch has become stuck and you'll need to send the light in for warranty work. Please contact our warranty team at service@fenix-store.com. Thank you!
Here's one for you... Fenix PD32 operates correctly with a 2600 mAh battery, but when I try it with a 3500 mAh battery the flashlight WON'T switch off ????

I bought a flashlight from the chinese Ebay store ''buybuybuy_ei''. He sent me a flashlight that doesn not work. It only flashes only once each time i press the power button. It doesn't stay on. I think it has something to do with contact inside the flashlight head. Or maybe the power button contact inside doesn't make permanent contact with whatever it should be making contact with? You have any idea?
I have a weird issue, when i turn my UC 35 V2 on the battery indicator shows red which means it’s poor not critical but it could be charged , but then i plug the cable into the charging port it shows red as it should but 30 seconds after it shows green as it’s done charging but its not
Yea it’s a brand new one and of course i removed the disc 😂 i was testing it out before i wanted to charge it, i charged the battery with an external 18650 charger and it charged as it was supposed to, I’ll give it another try once the battery is down again which could take a while 😄 but other than that i really like the product 👍🏻😊
I have the UC35. The light quality is great, but the USB charging is totally janky. It shows no charging and i leave it to charge 24 hours and nothing. sucks.

1:22 I have a big issue with my TK16 model. The light is suddenly stops and I have to twist the cup to make the light appear again. Then it stops again. The connection inside the cup is flimsy and made poor. Tightening the rings won't help. This model beside to be way overpriced is a disaster. As I found out there are few people with the similar issues. Does anyone has a similar issues?

My TK40 switched on and of by itself. Found this video (saw how to open tailswitch) and tightened the tail switch. Works as new. (now 13 years old)

couldn't get my pliers to twist the spring case so i just pulled the wire, stretching it. Tightened base a lot and it worked!

Well, mine doesn't show any indicator when plugged in. Just spent 30 bucks on new cables and transformer. Nuthin.

Mine has a different issue. it takes 2 AA batteries. You turn it on and it just flashes dimly even with good batteries?
A battery might of leaked inside. If there is corrosion on the metal, it will cause the light to not turn on.
@@FenixStoreOfficial fixed it. it was just simply a film between the positive battery connection and the terminal near the front of the flashlight.

How do you get the bulb out? I checked my light with 4 different batteries but still nothing. So I assume the problem is in the bulb.
