Hey Wlliam do you know how much coal still exists in the EBT part of the coalfield? A blog on coalcampusa.com says that a resident up there thinks there is "as much coal left as was taken out" but that it's too deep to access although a book I have said there were strip mining at Alvan until 1992 so I was just wondering how much was left. I hope there's enough up there at Alvan to last many, many years. Wonder why they never strip mined around mines 1-5?
This is going to bring back so much life to the little town of Orbisonia. I remember this railroad from when I was a kid. Riding the train, then going to the little ice cream shop next to the railroad line and watching the train roll past. I can't wait to relive those memories.
