Hi Johnny, I can sympathise with you. I have just got out of hospital after a week. Had a nasty chest infection, was on antibiotics, drips and oxygen. Can appreciate you were struggling for breath, which makes shooting difficult. You did well considering everything.
That was a great shoot ! I had to us my mate gun as I a browning man. Excellently laid out course, and some are quite challenging. It was great meeting you both on stand 1 to 3. Great video TGS as always !!
I shoot a K80 ACS for my main clay gun but I keep my A400 extreme hunting gun on back up. I love my A400 and have loved the A400 platform since it came out. Mine has the 3.5 inch chamber and I have never had any issue with reliability even on the cheap Walmart target loads. And the fact it’s one of the few readily available left hand guns I think it’s the best semi automatic wing and clay gun on the market.
I teach basic wingshooting through the Illinois (USA) Department of Natural Resources. We use the A400 Xcel in 28 gauge. They are very reliable, light enough for kids, and really nice to use. I was never an automatic guy until I shot these. Absolutely looking to add a couple of them for waterfowl and to use with my kids as they grow. Clearly, they work, because Joseph Fanizzi and Desi Edmunds are worlds class shooters, and the A400 is their gun of choice.
Well done Johnny. Nice shooting mate. I think that semi looks great in your hands. Now if you could find a more custom semi auto shotgun, I think you will be golden. I love Beretta’s auto shotguns. I have an older a300 and a A400 Multitarget, with the kickoff. The kickoff system makes the length of pull longer by about 3 inches, which fits me better than the one without the kickoff system.
Best thing about shooting over there is the fact they don’t need a dedicated course , just find a farm , put out the traps , and get on with it !! Absolutely love that. !!
Glad to see you on the mend Jonny. Knowing you were not yet 100%, you made a bold effort to make it happen. The A400 was a good move. Better sight picture, maybe and a little easier to move. I have grabbed my A400 when things start looking and feel off. Continue to get well.
Stateside here, I use a 555e for sporting and for the field. Reliable and very light, just had to upgrade the recoil pad. Yes and very inexpensive, so I don't mind shooting in the rain.
How you liking the grey a400? Picked one up almost brand new for £1,000. Bargain for what has been my favourite gun I've come across. Sporting, trap, game, it does it all. Need to do a video on the new grey model if you haven't.
Hi Jonny I’ve just bought the same semi and chopped in a Benelli to make way I also loved it. 80/100 on my first go with it put a smile on my face shame I didn’t have it on my go at Windwhistle as I shot atrociously and sulked all the way home to kent 😂😂😂 hope you’re feeling better now 👍👍
I actually really enjoy hearing about updated parts. Just in general. For instance, there's an American company called British Atlantic that makes like a heater assembly for the old range rovers, You know before they became bourgeois, well the heaters were notoriously crap and all the old ones. So this company made one of the best heaters out there. Specifically for old range rovers. And if it will handle Northern New England winters, Basically only Alaska, Russia the Arctic circle, the northwest territories and Yukon can kill it. It's just I like it when they take something, and they improve on it. Somehow more interesting, and better at the same time. Not to mention a lot of times you can get parts easier. There can be downsides too. Think of the old Volkswagen beetles, a lot of their aftermarket parts are crap nowadays. There's exceptions but... I guess this is just a larger part of the whole repair movement
Get fighting fit mate! You sounded a bit out of puff at the start but hung in there. Cracking day out by the looks of it and the uphill rabbit looks like a corker of a target. Nice to see the weather was good for the folks shooting that day. Doing a three dayer 'Whoosh!' Gotta stay in the game! Good egg!
really enjoyed that , spot on . when i shoot my benelli people say now you only have one choke , which i guess is true . do you know out of interest what was in that semi ?
You know where I stand on the A400. Minus the issue of not being able to replace a cracked bolt separately, I think you can't beat it. Now do I come over just for the event next year just to have mine fixed? 😂 Thanks for sharing. Good to see another familiar face; Reece Dimech.
Sovereign fibre Six's are back !! 😮 Lovely jubbly . Could tell your chest still wasn't right when you're talking , hope it's all good now . Loved this video 👍
My thoughts are no O/U points as well as a semi auto and the guality of your breaks are video evidence of that. Not to mention less recoil and fast follow up shots as a result of NOT being knocked of the stock.
That's such an amazing venue when the weather is kind! Who set the course? Matt? If so, I think he did the charity event there earlier this year and it was rather tasty!
Your thoughts to switch to a lighter gun was brilliant! I had an instructor tell me why would you shoot any other gun than this? Speaking of my 20/28 687. He is right, but I have others and they get lonely. Hope your 100% soon.
We have all been there. (Bringing the wrong gun). As a sub gauge shooter I have done it a bit more than most. Good to see you made the most of it and still enjoyed the day.
The top barrel on my silver pigeon I patterns 80/20. My bottom barrel patterns 50/50 at 30 yards. I bet this guy can't/won't fix it. Beretta wouldn't even issue an RMA for it. Feretta! 💩
Don’t enjoy a auto too much you’ll not go back i’ll certainly take some convincing and a suitable gun to go back there easy to shoot without the recoil and fatigue you get with a big heavy over and under !
If I heard you correctly saying to your fellow shooters that you’ve never been beat by them, that’s slightly arrogant and something I’m surprised to hear you say.
Sorry to hear about your hospital stay. Hope you are feeling a lot better now
"Life is better with fisting". True words of wisdom 😂
My guess is that it means something different to a Brit. ...like "fanny pack".
@@wholeNwon Your guess is correct!!! 👊
Well done👍 You shot brilliantly especially considering you just came out of hospital. Try to get some good rest. Get well soon.
Being able to breath properly is so underrated Jonny.

So glad you shot the A400 xcel. Just got this gun a few weeks ago and have enjoyed every shot.
Hard to beat .

This is reminiscent of that old James Bond movie "Dr. No" when M says: "Ah, just as I suspected, you've been carrying that damned Beretta again."

Just picked one of the older Blue receiver for $1200.00 myself, it's in excellent condition.

Great shooting, looks absolutely professional. It seems you shot a lot of targets Swing Through. Or am I wrong ?
Been in the wars, Jonny ? What have you done to yourself ? Whatever it was, good to see you back on your feet.

I would love to shoot this next year with you all Johnny. I love targets with such flavor.
But im over in the USA
Tony Matarese started with an A400, switched to a DT, but says he will shift back to the A400 for the recoil mitigation.
What choke were you using in the auto? Glad your feeling better ish!

Didn't realise Johnny was that tight not wasting cartridges by shooting 2 clays with just 1
I love the auto, except when it becomes fiddly! Unfortunately most of the autos I’ve seen are fiddly.

I’m guessing you were in hospital for gigantinitus 😉 joking aside glad you’re back, good health mate and keep smashing them up! Get at em ❤️
Maybe stick to the Longthorne Johnny. I know I would. Cheers from Australia.
Put a beretta sticker on the side of it?
Since you brought it up, if not too personal, what landed you in the hospital?
BTW, lots of gun springs over 150 yrs. old are still working well.
Glad you on mend jonny, slaps a beretta sticker on end of old mk38, job done
