I love how, even though Batman & Robin are flying through the air, supposedly to their doom, the Batmobile still obeys the road rules, and even stops for the two boys crossing the street. The Dynamic Duo could have splatted on the ground, but, nope, gotta stop for pedestrians and obey the speed limit. Just great little touch!
The show always had moments like Batman lecturing Robin about wearing your "bat" safety belt, or "always put money in the parking meter", or "always return your library books on time". It was an ongoing gag.
Who ever came up with all those gadgets in the car, in the batcave, all the gadgets they used, is a genius. Everything about the show was awesome, and the women, all kinds of beautiful women.
Watched it as a kid loved it,59 now still watch it still a kid and watch it with my 12 year old daughter.Rip Adam West the only Brue Wayne , the only Batman the only Cape Crusader,GodBless🙏
Thank you for all of your great time and editing work to put all of these great scenes together. NO batmobile will ever top this great classic car. Bale's bat-tank not even close! Best tv car ever! I am 49, loved it as a kid. Love it even more now!
I don't know who came up with Adam West's Batman, if it was him, or the writers, or a combination, but it was brilliant. Almost every word out of his mouth was like a 1950's Public Service Announcement. Brilliant, consistent, and unique.
I had the opportunity to see two Batmobiles, one at a car show and another at an autograph signing with Burt Ward, and those who were lucky enough to sit in the driver's side of the Batmobile
Well done. I was a child when this show aired on t.v. and my favorite parts were the Batmobile scenes. Especially when the Batmobile would be operated remote control. Those were the days before pocket calculators and computers. Seeing the Batmobile moving without anyone inside really made it come to life. I've seen pics on the official website and IMO they are not taking proper care of her. I'd "restore" her to perfection i.e. better than when she was on TOS. Batmobile = Ultimate Car
The most famous Car Customizer in the World is mostly unknown, Karl Krumme is the concept car builder/car customizer who customized the Ford Futura for George Barris, creating the Batmobile. Randy Wright is the guy who make the fiberglass moulds from the first Batmobile and 5 more copies for the TV series. The pair also made the Paul Revere and the Raiders Coach and many othre familiar cars and boats and air craft.
How could 7 people NOT like this ?? Thoroughly enjoyed watching it! Brought back alot of great memories watching this as a kid. Thank you for putting together a great video!
I love how there's a specific, lit-up button for every possible eventuality, even a button to activate an automatic tire repair system. The interior of the batmobile must have a magical extra-big size dash to fit them all!
Such great memories through the eyes of an 8 and 9 year-old! This show was a blast to grow up with. And one has to wonder if Robin has a little bit of Barney Fife in him! Thanks for making these clips to share.
@@johnanton6095 sorry but there was no plexiglass canopy to slide forward. I sat in the Batmobile when I was 12, and then again in 1983 in North Hollywood at George Barris Kustom shop I got to sit in it again. No canopy to slide forward. The Futura did have a middle canopy that lifted towards the rear for entry and exit to the vehicle.
Loved this show. Have to chuckle now at the bat magnet grabbing the buckles on the straight jacket but not the van, doors, etc.😂 Also great how it squeels the tires on dirt!!!!!👍😁
and worth every penny...thanks. Anyone who can't relate, was obviously not a kid in the '60's. This was and still is 'The MOST' That 1955 Lincoln Futura, overhead valve, V-8, 4-barrel, 330 hp was one hell of a muscle car, it will live forever as "THE Batmobile". I loved it when I was 10 and I love it now...
These the cartoons I watched as a kid...suspense r and left...and my mom sewed a suit for me specially, when I s a kid, it was Robins suit...so i could show all my friends...and do justice and liberty things in my community
Definitely the neatest superhero car ever built for a television show. The landing on the bat net at 3:44 was something else (though would have better, not to mention maybe funnier if they would've landed in the car's seats {reminiscent of a Hertz car commercial about putting you in the driver's set). Gee, sure would be helpful to have the automatic tire repair/inflater device on cars.
Even in 2021 they still can't build a turbine powered batmobile that powers on and moves out this fast! The videos I have see all look like they are in slow motion. This is why the fictional batmobile captured the imagination of so many people, and still blows people away!! The sound effects back then were spot on and awesome.
To me this is not only the best, but the only official Batmobile !!!. Batman and Robin had every gadget installed. Even seat belt alarms like.cars do now. Not to mention a Bat phone. A lot of gimmicks went into that car.
Seen this car at New York Car show in 1967 . seen every show there was growing up. the Original Bat Mobile sold for 4.2 million dollars just a few years ago at auction
If you listen carefully to the scene in Planet of the Apes (1968) when the spaceship is crashing to earth, you can hear sound effects that were taken from the Batmobile's engine starting. Also sound effects from the Jupiter 2 from Lost In Space.
Absolutely correct! I even had a video uploaded showing that but it was taken down for copyright. The actual sound is found in the 20th Century Fox special effects sound library.
I am glad someone else saw that particular Batmobile model. Someone in RUclips mentioned to me that, that particular Batmobile model was intentionally built for car show exhibitions. I currently live in Bellflower, California. I am 48 years old now, and I am an elementary school teacher, and I clearly remember the velour Batmobile at the International Car Show in Mexico City. Cool!
Peter Criss they made a docutainment movie in 2003 starring Adam & Burt with "flashbacks" in the story line featuring two other actors. the first day of shooting was actually pretty funny as Burt worried about the batmobile ride with the Batman stunt driver. and getting burned & blown up in other stunts. haha
Atomic batteries to power, turbines to speed... Roger, ready to move out. I remember watch all of this when I was a little kid. I used to think it was the coolest. Great how they had huge labels for all of the gadgets.
Always loved that Batmobile. Had a slot car of the Batmobile back in the 60's. And could make the sound effects too. Not as good as in the show or movie but passable.
Gran parte de mis fantasias de mi niñez, giraron alrededor de esta serie, la cual llevo gravada en mi mente y alma hasta estos días de mi vida. Aún veo en youtube algunos capítulos, para rememorar aquellos días.
Adam West once commented on driving the Batmobile. The open cockpit design captured the wind and made conversation while driving impossible due to the noise. The steering was sloppy and the suspension purposely mushy so stops would look more dramatic.
Fun fact: Stunt doubles were used in the majority of action sequences, including driving the Batmobile. That's not a surprise. Here's the fun part: A good few years ago, the 1966 Batman movie was on Netflix and the thumbnail they showed for the movie was a very distinct picture of the stunt doubles in the Batmobile. D'Oh!
I love how, even though Batman & Robin are flying through the air, supposedly to their doom, the Batmobile still obeys the road rules, and even stops for the two boys crossing the street. bat mobile was the 1st radio controlled lol and self driving better than todays cars they turn over kids lol
Never get tired of seeing that flame shooting out of the exhaust.
I never get tired of that either
Me neither; that flame together with the brrroooommm sound gives me shivers
Rest in peace Mr Barris. You gave us one hell of a car :)
Let’s also give some respect to the designers at the Ford Motor Company of the mid 1950s that designed the base car, the Futura.
Amen
Also let us show a great deal of respect for the one man who created the batmobile the late great king of automotive customizes Mr George Barris
Who ever came up with all those gadgets in the car, in the batcave, all the gadgets they used, is a genius. Everything about the show was awesome, and the women, all kinds of beautiful women.
Not really. Most of the gadgets were pretty damn stupid tbh. That’s just the campiness thing.

It may have been a campy show but the Batmobile was serious kick-ass and still is 50 years on.
The original TV Batmoblie, and still the best from any TV show or movie!
That was very enjoyable. A proof you can indeed trust a old butler. Thanks, Alfred.
Alfred was awesome.

my dad helped build this car. he worked for Baris in 65.
He must've been one of the first to set the turbines to speed and the atomic battery to power. That's pretty schway.

I had no idea that the batmobile did so many things in these episodes. All I remember was the driving of it and the parachutes.
No idea how I got here but it brings back great memories from my childhood in the sixties. Thank you!
Loved the TV version with Adam West. It was campy and so much more fun to watch!
Coolest car of all time!!! Thanks to Mr. Barris!!! 👍👍👍👍👍
I loved watching this show when I was a kid
This is a good collection of Mr. Barris' awesomely designed vehicle!
The coolest Batmobile.
Holy a Quart Low Batman!!! That's bat mobile cruelty it's always a quart low.
FE fun fact...the Batmobile had a 390ci FE engine in it.
Same engine that Detective Bullit's 67' Mustang fastback had...
I had the opportunity to see two Batmobiles, one at a car show and another at an autograph signing with Burt Ward, and those who were lucky enough to sit in the driver's side of the Batmobile
no batmobile can touch the original I wish they would bring it back!

Those 7 are probably vaxxed and there's probably only 5 or 6 or them now.
I think that's the best version of the Batmobile.

I enjoyed watching this, thanks for making it, what a classic car.
The 1966 Pontiac GTO is a beautiful classic American muscle car. Perfect model for the bat mobile.
Okay you wet behind the ears know nothing punks, You're looking at the ultimate design in Batmobile perfection.
Thanks for posting this. I had forgotten all the little devices that was used by the car.
APenny , you are the best! Ive know OF you for years from the forums. I appreciate all youv'e done for the Bartmobile fans!!!
In my opinion, this car is the most recognized vehicle in the world.

Love that 1966 Batmobile!!
4:31: Wow, not only did he have a car phone, he also had wireless high-speed internet decades before anyone else! Holy hi tech, Batman!
I'll admit this is still the coolest Batmobile. The 89 one is close, though
