I enjoy seeing you being leisurely this Summer. It is very therapeutic for overcoming any teacher burnout from the school year that has ended. Thanks for sharing.
Teachers do sooo much for others on and off the clock throughout the year so it's good to see you enjoying your well deserved break. Therapy is so beneficial that it should be a standard part of our healthcare for everyone. Glad to know you're reaping the benefits. It definitely did a world of good for me too.
Good for you taking that time to rest your body and mind! This type of self-care is particularly hard for teachers to see as important because our minds are so go-go-go the rest of the year and we never stop. But in these moments of relaxation, I often find that other moments of clarity and new ideas tend to arise. I always tell myself: Every little thing you do is productive in some way. I wish therapy was mandatory for all teachers. Have a beautiful summer!
That nail design is too cute! I keep doing my own to keep me from spending the money but one day I'm going to treat myself and let someone else do them.
I have found the same thing in the summer, without a routine I really struggle and tend to get down. Not depressed so to speak but that’s what my therapist said to create more of a routine and do things for me. I’m doing a camp for 22 hours a week so it’s easy and helps me w a routine. Though I’m not sure I will do it next summer lol. Love your nails. I had to move classrooms so I’m doing a decore change.
It's really sad that teachers who are stressed during the school year don't know how to relax. I think we must learn to enjoy life. Work is a means to an end. We are more than teachers. Enjoy your summer!
I actually do seasonal decor everywhere in the house just a change of curtains, pillows, comforter in the bedroom and a few choice pieces and poof new room! Store it & use it again. You did inspire me to get a nee rug for livingroom soooo ty! Lol.
I absolutely 💛 Wolfie's new duds...particularly that bow tie collar. 🍌 🍌 🍌 He HAS been such a good big brother. I had the same idea as you for displaying student work with the sheets of scrapbook paper. I may have even gotten the idea from one of your elementary classroom setup videos. 🤔🤔🤔 I have had all the scrapbook paper for at least 2 years. Have I set it up yet? That's a resounding NO. I have never been sufficiently prepared with how I'm going to set up my classroom to get the idea in place. We have to take everything down every year, and it's usually in a mad rush because of all of the other fun activities and stuff we have going on EOY. However. Things worked out a little differently this past school year, and I do believe I am better prepared to set up my classroom on the return, and those scrapbook sheets are part of it. I'm quite excited about it. Good luck to the both of us with that. 😃
Put a new run in my living room this week as well. I couldn’t find anything under $200. Just happened to find a patio unfortunately outdoor rug that looks really good on sale for $79. Huge rug!
❤ Cute door wreath. Why are big wreaths hard to find? I love your work bag collection. You have a variety of colirs and fabrics. Thanks for the updates.
Now that you’ve taught the same grade and subject for a few years it is only natural you have a little less to do over the summer. I have those same feelings of guilt and restlessness though so your video really hit home…as always.
I totally understand. I struggle with not working overtime every day, even though I am bone tired. For some reason, I feel guilty if I don't work extra hours.
It is fine to be busy doing absolutely nothing during the vacation. Did you also use the teacher discount when you went to Michael's? The scrapbook packs also appear to come out seasonally, so the colors offered might change over several months. Take care and thank you for your video presentation.
What's the site you got his harness from? (Just want to make sure i use the correct one). It's so cute! I change up my decor in the living room/dining room for the 4 seasons. I just change my pillows and add a few decor items throughout. I also change my wreath.
Hi Katie! Your comment piqued my curiosity a bit and I wanted to ask - do you mean 'Why am I the type of person who likes to reorganise things?' or is it something else? If it is that, one way that helped me was shifting the wording. So, if I assume this is about the reorganising, I might say to myself: "I'm so grateful I'm the type of person who likes to organise things instead of leaving them chaotic." Or I might say, "I'm not sure the best way to organise these, so I'm going to call a friend to help me." Or I might ask myself, "On a scale of 1-10, how happy am I with the way these are organised? Above 5? Then I'm going to leave them because my time could really be used doing _____ right now." Most importantly, there is nothing wrong with how you are - you are always enough no matter what! Anyway, if it's something different and you want some other ideas to change your wording, let me know! Have a beautiful week! 💚💜💙

One way I stay busy is to do other things...hiking, biking, reading. I have to get out of the house every few days.

Sometimes a woman has got to treat herself, so I say indulge.
I went to therapy regularly for about 5 years until recently and it was extremely useful. I wish everyone could access it.
We are human beings not human doing. 😅 Continue to enjoy your break!
Looking good in yellow, Woofy!
Happy Summer Break😊Enjoy & "summer" to the fullest! ❤ the nails!!!!

Thank you for sharing your life with us. ❤️ Wishing you the best! 🤗

Good luck with finally getting a chance to put that scrapbook paper to use.
I love your hair and sunnies. 🌴☀️

Am I the only one wishing that wig was in the Amazon store?

We gotta get past those feelings.
i am exactly the same....feel guilty almost for not being productive.

I didn't use my discount. I normally do, but I totally forgot about it that day.
Good for you! Do whatever makes you happy and at peace. Teaching has changed so much and the joy of teaching has become very minimal.
It takes so much from a person, luckily I still get fulfillment from it.
I was thinking can you use construction paper for your work wall? It might be a cheaper alternative.
It is, but I want to be fancy.
@@SmartieStylelr I totally understand that.

When you’re single without kids, you can splurge on yourself often.
I went to my room to reorganize my small group materials the other day. The whole time I kept saying, "Why am I like this?".

Ok, I determined today, after counting my 7 work/computer bags, that I may have a bit of a problem. BTW, I retire in 2 years! 😅
I am right there with you. Congrats on being so close to retirement.
