I’m so glad the GS Hana Ikada is getting recognition. It seems like no one talked about it cause it is just 100 pieces and they all thought “meh no one is gonna get it so let’s not pay attention.” It’s my #1 of the entire show by far personally
The "fun" Rolexes make me think that, after they beat down LaCalifornienne, they thought, "Now, we're going to do this ourselves," and they tried, but they couldn't, because they're not a hip, modern outfit in LA, they're Rolex.
The only one that was wrong is the Tag Chronograph. Definite Buy, buy, buy. Great inhouse movement, perfect size, nods to the history of Heuer (date window at 12) and truly modern take with the whole thing under crystal. For a brand I was writing off they hit it out of the park. (The blue one as well).
Excellent as usual… and again, I love the insight that everyone else avoids, in comparing the Gold GS to the extremely-overpriced 1908 which puts it all in perspective, and all without turning it around which is the ultimate knock-out punch… 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
The Kermit is exactly my jam. And it's one watch that my wife wouldn't mind me spending that cash. But she'd somehow expect me to find her a miss piggy version

I am waiting for Tudor Black Bay 41mm blue dial on jubilee. I feel that people are not talking about this one. They made solid changes. Jubilee, new movement, new crown, new case, T-fit clasp, etc... Everyone says that Tudor lost its identity as it looks like Rolex Datejust and Oyster Perpetual mashed up together. Waiting for the AD to call me. What a watch!

Wish y’all would start mentioning Czapek. The skeletonized Antarctique is the coolest skeletonized sports watch I’ve ever seen. Their new dials are stunning. And I recall Andrew saying the passage de drake antarctique S is in contention for his ideal one watch collection.
Looking at the GS rose gold with the cherry blossom dial, it’s really clear that they remain an absurdly good value in watchmaking. It’s also clear how low the bar is for the Swiss makers. If Rolex somehow released something with the same elegance and cohesiveness as GS people would shit themselves.
@@DarrenBates totally, I’m not even a fan of Rolex but I still find myself biased when I see their logo on a watch. I thought their new dress watch looks pretty cool but when you see what you can get in a rose gold case from GS at the same price, it’s just not even fair. And on top of the aesthetics, you get spring drive which (in my opinion) is the most interesting major technological development in watchmaking over the last century. The trinity brands should feel embarrassed by what Japan has done for watchmaking over the last 50 years. Instead they remain arrogantly entrenched in their “heritage” and brand recognition, all but refusing to innovate in any way whatsoever.
The outside ring on the bezel i personally find it the best move. Makes it more balanced and now it is like a proper insert, not solid. I always found the solid bezel very strange looking.

For the price of Rolex with the craftsmanship of Patek Philippe, JLC is the pinnacle of haute horology! The Riverso golden ratio with its buttery manual movement is a marvel to winding up every 42 hours, yes you heard it right 😊
Just my opinion, I'd put the Kermit in the buy buy buy category. I love the color, and it adds some pop to a more monochrome model. If Kermit was always present on the dial then I'd agree that it seems a bit like a stuffy corporate version of fun (see the Tag Mario Kart), but with him only showing his fuzzy face every 31 days it's the right amount of fun.
Of the ones you showed I liked the Panerai, absolutely loved the JLC chrono, and was intrigued by the vintage looking Carrera. Not often I warm to a Tag but I'll definitely be checking this one out. Expensive for a Tag as you say but if the finish is there why not??
The Ingenieur dial... I realized that it, pattern wise, sort of reminds me of the United States flag, so yes, your truck reference fits really well on several levels. The Patek Philippe AQUAnaut 5261r has a truly amazing water resistance of 30m, good enough for washing your hands.
The Crazy thing about that Tentagraph is it tested to better than COSC, and it's a High Beat (5hz) movement that has a 74hr power reserve WITH the chronograph function active the entire time! Also having just tried it on at the NYC GS boutique event the thing uses some form of Black Magic because it wears more like a 12mm thick watch, I don't know how they do it but it's amazing.
The Yacht Master looks so much like a Sub. Only the wearer will know the difference. I do think the lighter titanium weight would be great. The Rolex puzzle and bubble watches look ridiculous.
I owned one automatic watch which was an omega seamaster. I bought 21 years ago. I’m now realising what an expensive pain in the arse this hobby is - okay, it’s not drinking it’s not gambling and it’s not drugs - but 😂

Why no Omega? They released the Spirate system on their co-axial escapement movement for the Speedmaster Racing earlier this year and most of the watch community has been pretty silent on this.

I would have been interested in your quantitative analysis of the new GS birch with the birching of the case. The uberbirch was overbirched for me, because I love the contrast of the polished case with the exquisitely textured dial.
Kermit is only there on the 1st of every month. I think it's the perfect amount of Kermit. Having said that, the green is a little too neon for my liking.
The Panerai case effect do make the watch look vintage. Really cool. I think I’d prefer that over the hundreds of dive watches that look like submariners.
The biggest scandal of this years releases is the price for that IWC. It's like a mother forcing her unathletic child onto the pitch and demanding the other children to pass the ball to it.
JLC was the watch of the show for me, and maybe it's their nicest Reverso ever...🤔It's a shame that that TAG with its top and bottom date option doesn't come with a no date option too. Great video, it was a much needed pick me up before starting work.
While I will never buy one, the Emoji Day Date is my favorite release. A perfect summer watch for a billionaire. And for those who have a large collection, no worries about wasting precious time setting the day and date when this one goes into rotation :)

The metal edge on the Daytona looks good and is probably to stop chipping as ceramic may not scratch but it is brittle.
