Owning Breitling Superocean 42 mm A17375 from this video and since I bought it in july 2023 I have been wearing it every day and on every ocassion (with tux, tracksuits, shorts, on beach). Also, I look at it so often even when I am not checking time admiring its look.
I think the last recommendation is the best. Let's face it, someone who can afford a Lange, will also buy a second watch, but if you do not have many means and only 50 for a watch because the old one broke, those are the people who really need a one watch collection, and the recommendation is spot on
My Dad recently got the Tag Heuer F1 as his only watch it’s a great watch. My vote goes for the Omega Aquaterra, attainable for the ordinary man but luxurious and versatile enough that it could be an only forever watch. Great video as always
GS snowflake for me. Had it for 2 years. Every time I’ve tried another watch on with this as a reference piece I come back to it. My desire for buying more watches has waned significantly since owning this piece. Wear it every day as a Doctor (in hospitals and GP practice), have worn it with casual clothes, on weekends and with a suit. It really does it all.
The Bulova Lunar Pilot is my everyday wearer. Affordable and ultra-accurate. Loads of history and wrist-presence. Quite the conversation piece as well.
Right!?!, I have the black and the Blue and by far they both garner the "Most Wrist Time” award for 2023. Solid piece, has presence, use to set my other watches..so so accurate (10 sec a year!) and the high beat 1/10th Sub Dial is a pleasure to watch . Pusher design unique and solid and great tactile feedback.
I bought a Forzo drive king just as a beater but have been blown away by the build quality. I can take it off for a few weeks and when I get it again it doesn't need setting or winding. Mine has no second hand so it's not too obviously a quartz and the chronograph moves like an auto, also a 24hr bezel insert, so super useful. Fantastic watch for the money and definitely not a beater!
I have a blue Aqua Terra with the "floorboard" dial except it's the 38 mm version. I wear it in all manner of occasions from snorkeling to formal dinners, so it would be the perfect one watch collection. However, that boat sailed long ago and it has to make do in the rotation.
Closing in on 1M subs. Well deserved. This channel gives reasonable advice to a broad spectrum of watch enthusiasts and couples it with delightful humour. I’ll admit I defaulted to the TAG Formula 1 years ago. I’m currently lusting for a Grand Seiko from the Evolution 9 collection with the white birch dial and I don’t even care about watches all that much.
As someone who has an addictive personality, I knew that I didn't want to start collecting lots of watches, but probably would unless I found the right watch. That watch was the Hamilton Khaki Aviation Pilot Watch. It was priced just at the right amount to be reasonably expensive but not going into the thousands of pound mark, which would make me wince. It looks great and doesn't feel too small. Also it has some prestige as the other Interstellar watch, which puts it above the Murph watch. Most importantly, I haven't seriously thought about buying a watch since buying it. Of course, I might have to try wearing it one day.
My wife got me my grail 3 years ago for our 21 anniversary. My one watch is a blue, seamaster aqua-terra gmt/chrono caliber 9605. I wear it on a FORSTNER BANDS ladder bracelet. With the two button milled clasp. I haven't worn anything else since.
You've made my day! I have a Tag formula 1 and i wear it every day. It's in black, doesn't have the metal strap, doesn't attract attention and i've worn it from shower to beach to sea to bar to bed and back to work. its ace.
With the 'one watch' collection you can look at it two ways: one functional watch that you can go anywhere and do anything with (GADA) watch or one watch that is so unique and so expensive that it is your only watch. We've seen both approaches taken here (i.e. MB&F vs. Aqua Terra or Longines).
I bought a watch from amzwatch lightly used for my last milestone birthday. Don't wear it as much as it deserves, but not afraid to, either. It's stunning . Good taste, Sir.
Casio duro has been my everyday watch for the last 6 months or so and I find it to be very versatile. I got a bunch of nato straps and leather straps to go with it and this watch has never let me down. I am glad this made it to your list
Congratulations on the video. I own about 22 watches ranging from a very rare Rolex Daytona 6240 of 1966, a vintage Rolex Submariner 5513 no date plexiglass crystal, to some very affordable Seiko mini turtle (PADI), Orients, an all-steel Swatch chronographer, and other. But the watch I wear the most and could be (in a different world because I’m constantly thinking about getting a new piece) my only watch is my Omega Seamaster 300.
To me, the Datejust is the obvious pick for this. I know it's not the trendy Rolex, but it has great water resistance, great timekeeping, and manages to be formal enough to also be your "dress" watch. If you have a Datejust it's never really out of place.
i am lucky to say that earlier this year i bought my perfect 1 watch collection watch.. the Longines master collection triple date chronograph moonphase! .. absolutely gorgeous! ..
Tom starts with the Odysseus….mic drop…shortest video ever…lol. I agree, Tom…perfect one watch, but I’d wear it with dial down so I could always see the movement. 😂👍✌️
if i was able to get my hands on one, the citizen chronomaster with the white washi paper dial would be truly one and done for me. Absolutely gorgeous watch, eco drive movement with +-5 seconds per year accuracy, what more could you want
After many years, my one one done is the Grand Seiko SBGN003 - after 3 years the change in time is +/- 0.0s.... You cannot beat that. True GMT, GS looks and quality, and super cheap to keep (service costs on mechanicals and even spring drives can be quite high). And not too expensive used. Good at doing anything too - about 2000 dollars these days in good shape. Classic good looks that can go from formal to the mountain climb.
I own the BB Black (41mm.) for three and a half years and really happy with it. Also, I bought the BB GMT two years and 4 months ago and the same, more than happy. Both are really accurate, everything works perfectly and they are in perfect shape.
Great vid chaps. For your consideration…….. the IWC Mark 18 (now 20) blue dial is the perfect timepiece. 40mm, date, only 11mm thick, screw down crown and the bracelet is comfortably perfect with its on the fly clasp adjustment, the best in the business.
If I only wanted one watch to do all, I'd have the 36mm Rolex Explorer, wear it hiking or sailing with a nato strap, steel bracelet for everyday casual, black leather strap for Suit or Tuxedo events. It was kinda the G-Shock of its time as well as a stunner when need be.
I have many watches and I love them all but since getting a Breitling Aerospace Evo I now basically have a "one watch collection" it's fantastic, light good looking, versatile and does everything a watch needs to do. I love it and haven't taken it off. Looks great on a nato too if you want to go casual
I have failed miserably to find a one watch collection! From Omega, Casio, Timex, Suunto, Nite, Baltany, I have tried to find the one watch to it all but, I can't seem to live without any of them!
Daily a Citizen AT2470-85L, 42mm, titanium. Blue textured dial, chrono with Eco drive & sapphire crystal. I swaer pictures don't do it justice, it's an amazing watch and extremly comfortable. Also I sport a Orient Contemporary (FGW0 100 JW0) in white with ultrablue hands, a great timepiece for more formal ocasions. Cheers to you all!
If you’re going with a quartz, go with a solar, if solar then citizen eco drive! I think Citizen gets the reputation of being a “Mall Watch” company because most reviews people see are of watches from malls. The higher end citizen watches are amazing. Promaster, signature series, series 8, the citizen, and chronomaster are all great watches punching way above their weight.
I love collecting watches especially with the most affordable Japanese made, I have 8 of them and one of the Swiss military field watch from Wenger. But when I travel the only one I take is always my Citizen Eco drive have 100 m water resistant field watch, because of the accuracy and reliability of it.
Love my Duro, it's been a daily for over 2yrs. I'm VERY hard on watches, have NO scratches on the crystal. Although I bang mine almost daily on metal monos and shelving, and the mineral crystal is just fine. A few scratches and a little ding on the aluminum insert, with minimal scratching on the case(not really noticeable). The lume is not great, no issues with the crown, and the second hand hitting the markers is hit or miss(no pun intended). It appears to get better with time, btw. Mine was almost perfect right out of the box. I've spent more on straps then on the watch and Love it... Spends most of its time on a StrapCode 22mm Super-J Louis JUB Watch Band Straight End, 316L Stainless Steel Solid V-Clasp Button Double Lock.
The one watch collection that was aspirational enough for the masses but discerning enough for the snobs has to be the Aquaterra Day Date; only offered a few years so it’s rare-ish and the silver dial with rose gold indicies is sporty enough for a day with the boys but formal enough for a suit. And you can actually find it on the market.
I recently bought a Orient Kamasu Automatic 20 bar with Teal dial for £230...a beautiful watch and the colour changes with various lighting...as im texting its more of a navy blue but when the sun is out the green within the Teal shines through and in other moments you can get a lovely almost Black dial. For me its £230 well spent. I alternate this watch with my £220 Seiko 5 Automatic 100m Blue Sun Burst dial Field watch. £450 , two watches and im Happy...although my next buy will be the £300 mark.
Casio Duro is the choice for a one watch collection, as it has the 22 mm lug width loophole, so you can buy a wide array of straps, and now you can have a dress, sports diver, field watch all in one.
Literally just had a black one delivered today. Put on a black & grey striped NATO strap. Now I wish I had bought it a long time ago, but I would still have my Garmin Crossover as my one watch.
Have they been quibbling? I thought that was a running joke, not something serious. Maybe I misunderstood their previous comments. They’re such a great pairing, would be a shame to lose that
Been rocking the 38 mill Aqua Terra in steel and Sedna Gold on a leather strap for a while. Elegant looking piece with a sporty spec. I ain’t swimming with this, so a leather strap is okay for me
I did that. I could have bought 10 watches for every occasion or buy just one and be done.. Well a true enthousiast is never done but right now I can't afford more. So for now one and done. 41 datejust fluted dial fluted bezzel on the birth day of my son. Didn't care how much it was, I got it and it's his 21birthday gift from his old man. Done!
My One Watch is the JLC Deep Sea Chronograph. It ticks all the boxes. 42mm, Chronograph, Diver, not too thick & Dressy enough to pass for most occasions, and very well made. It's a JLC!
Excellent vid, guys. You two make my day every time I watch you both. Great selections. I’d love to hear you guys give the German Brands more love. Sinn, Nomos, Glashutte, etc make several models that could easily qualify as single watch collection daily wearers. Throw in Stowa and even Damasko into that mix. And no Oris pieces from either one of you … c’mon guys!
My choice and grails: Omega Aqua Terra 41mm Gold small seconds, Zenith El Premero 410 Charles Vermot Blue, Rolex Sky Dweller Mint Green. That’s all that’s needed.
Direnzo DRZ 04 V2 Mondial. Yellow dial. Mike drop. Done. No wait. Audemars Millenary. Done. Uh. No. Wait. Rolex Wimbledon on Jubilee. Done. No. I mean. Maen Manhatten 37, salmon dial. Done. But then again…. Breguet 20. Done. Only one. Happy. Although…. Czapek Antarctic. Now that I think of it, Longines green and dark grey Zulu Time 39mm GMT on bracelet. Perfect. Yes. Perfect. Ah hell. Get ‘em all!!! If you count each as one then it’s just several one watch collections.
I like most of your suggestions. However if i just had one watch, I would buy one Eco drive watch ThE Citizen ( AQ 4091-56 ) which costs about 2767 Euro. If I have only 1 watch the accuracy is very important to me. .
Great watches for every budget, I have a Blueberry but it’s not my only watch and if I had to make my collection one watch it would have great consideration
My daily is an Omega Railmaster. I work a rather physical job, I’m around a lot of magnets while I’m there. That said, given most everyone has a cellphone on their person regardless of circumstances, almost any watch could serve as that “one watch”. I’ve also got an SBGW269 that’s so comfortable, so stunning, if I worked more of a desk job, it could easily be my GADA watch. If I could only have one, would I choose the Omega simply because I’d get far more wear out of it given my job? I’d have to think about it. The Railmaster is such a good watch, but the Grand Seiko, when I’m wearing it, which is often enough, I’m saying to myself, “I just can’t believe how beautiful this watch is.” I’ve got an El Primero A385 that is similar that way too. The point being, if you only want one watch, you’ve got a clock in your pocket already, I like the choices here, but that one watch can be something other than a GADA watch and still get plenty of wrist time.
Would love to know where in the UK (or in the World for that matter) you can buy a Casio Duro for 50 quid. Please tell me, I will send the money right away!
The one watch in my collection I don’t have is the aqua terra. Thanks lads 😂 now I’m looking for an aqua terra. Need to get to a watch collectors anonymous meeting soon.
It's called my Sinn 556 I RS - durable case, date, sapphire crystal and caseback, superb inky dial, a protected movement that can be serviced almost anywhere, strong lume, and great with bracelets and rubber straps.
A one watch for everything. Wear it in the jungle, a crowded city, suitable for business meetings, with friends at a campfire, and at an island ride, relaxing in a lounge chair, working at a desk. SMP300. For me there is no better thing as a BM Clifton. 5 days pr, as i do not have to dive and swim. For the water, i wil be happy with a Riviera 300meter diver, or a Omega AT will be good as i did not know a SMP300 exist.
My Tudor preference is the Black Bay M79230B-0008 41mm with the white hand set, and matt blue anodised aluminium Bezel insert for a little color. I Prefer the slightly bigger size. STILL has the retro signed crown with the Tudor rose, Domed sapphire crystal, and Rivet bracelet... A modern / retro look(LoL), the best of both worlds.
I've worn my Submariner 126610lv (i.e. the Cermit/Starbucks) every day this year I think, my Casio's are long since sold, my GMT master 2 sits there in the box, my girlfriend wears my bluesy as if it's hers and worth £20 (she really has no idea what it cost). I wear my Sub to work , to golf and I wear it to weddings and funerals.
Loved the Seamaster choice, it's unbeatable in it's price range. Same as the GS. But where is the speedmaster? Odysseus makes absolute sense to me, although i hate the price and what it represents. (I would cheer for a Moser Streamliner any day of the week instead, though) I would definately include in this list the prettiest watch of them all, the IWC Portugieser. And if i may, i would also include the Patek 5326, a watch that is modern, complicated and "sensibly" priced.
I got the full metal silver casio but it was not enough so I got another casio black out in resin and that was not enough so I got a christopher ward series 1 and guess what NOT ENOUGH.
I think you can’t go wrong with any of the following: Omega Aqua Terra, Grand Seiko Snowflake and the Cartier Santos de Cartier. All good looking and versatile watches,…which I might add, you can buy easily at retail and are all
I don't understand why a height dimension is given not to include the crystal. I was given to understand that the height dimension dealt with getting a watch under the cuff. That the crystal is transparent will not permit a tall one from fitting under a cuff. Great vid. Keep at it!
My one watch would also be my "exit" watch - A JLC Reverso Duo. Because if I'm gonna have one watch (especially at that price), might as well make it two.
What a great vid., ¿Why nobody else is talking about the Longinnes Record?, first time I've seen it, and it's beautifull, this is why I enjoy very much your content, the hidden gems. Greetings from MX. P.S. My final one watch...JLC Polaris blue dial.
A simpler piece on steel makes the most sense. Find one that has an element or two that's interesting, but isn't inappropriate for whatever you wear. Panerai even offers stuff in 40mm, while still offering easy strap changes without relying on iffy quick release springbars.
I bought my Submariner in 1994 and up to around 2014 it was my only watch. If I had to go back to one again, I’d go back to the Submariner again or perhaps my Santos de Cartier as that has a bracelet and leather strap which are easily changed - two watches in one.
If you only have 300, the Citizen Rolan. The BU21’s in particular. Gold or ss. Echo drive/solar, no batteries to wank out on you. Kinda looks like a chronograph, with three sub dials. They’re 24 hour, day, date. One could argue that month would be better than 24 hours, but 300. The subdials give off the stopwatch look, but no extra buttons to catch on things. No digital day/date cutouts, so classy.
Owning Breitling Superocean 42 mm A17375 from this video and since I bought it in july 2023 I have been wearing it every day and on every ocassion (with tux, tracksuits, shorts, on beach). Also, I look at it so often even when I am not checking time admiring its look.
1. Omega Aqua Terra
2. Grand Seiko High Beat
3. Breitling Crono, light green dial
I think the last recommendation is the best. Let's face it, someone who can afford a Lange, will also buy a second watch, but if you do not have many means and only 50 for a watch because the old one broke, those are the people who really need a one watch collection, and the recommendation is spot on

Torn between this and the cherry blossom
The Snowflake is a modern icon, I wear mine everywhere
Same here 👍

Which do you recommend as a first buy GS?
Thanks!
The Bulova Lunar Pilot is my everyday wearer. Affordable and ultra-accurate. Loads of history and wrist-presence. Quite the conversation piece as well.
My favorite in my collection. Absolutely love my black dial 43mm. Great to see the lunar pilot getting the love it deserves
Right!?!, I have the black and the Blue and by far they both garner the "Most Wrist Time” award for 2023. Solid piece, has presence, use to set my other watches..so so accurate (10 sec a year!) and the high beat 1/10th Sub Dial is a pleasure to watch . Consider the Grand Seiko skyflake spring Drive. Utterly magnificent 😊

Big fan of the f1. Its been my daily since '17!
When you say that it doesn’t attract attention, do you mean that you don’t want a conversation starter?
With the 'one watch' collection you can look at it two ways: one functional watch that you can go anywhere and do anything with (GADA) watch or one watch that is so unique and so expensive that it is your only watch.
We've seen both approaches taken here (i.e. MB&F vs. Aqua Terra or Longines).
I bought a watch from amzwatch lightly used for my last milestone birthday. Don't wear it as much as it deserves, but not afraid to, either. It's stunning . Good taste, Sir.
One watch collection is one of my favourite kinds of collections, I have about 20 of them!
I have about 40 watches, but my daily driver is a Casio Oceanus T200 :) (and Tudor 1926 for special occasions)
Casio duro has been my everyday watch for the last 6 months or so and I find it to be very versatile. I got a bunch of nato straps and leather straps to go with it and this watch has never let me down. I am glad this made it to your list
Lovely video, gents! Several of your picks made me swoon. I love the Longines chronograph with the black dial and the JLC with the blue dial.

White gold daydate is the answer
Perfect choice! Will never disappoint.
Only if you can purchase one.
I mean, if you were to try to get one Rolex, this is the one you could probably actually scrounge up. @@wayneschmidt
Picking a soft metal for a 1 watch collection you wear every day is a bad idea. @@thefreshprinceofbelleairbeach
i am lucky to say that earlier this year i bought my perfect 1 watch collection watch.. the Longines master collection triple date chronograph moonphase! .. absolutely gorgeous! ..
Tom starts with the Odysseus….mic drop…shortest video ever…lol. I agree, Tom…perfect one watch, but I’d wear it with dial down so I could always see the movement. 😂👍✌️
Yep. You've convinced me... I definitely need one 20 watch collection!
if i was able to get my hands on one, the citizen chronomaster with the white washi paper dial would be truly one and done for me.
I’ve had my Black Bay blue bezel in 41 mm for almost two years now. Keeps accurate time and it has been in the ocean and a few pools… Glad I got it.
I own the BB Black (41mm.) for three and a half years and really happy with it. Also, I bought the BB GMT two years and 4 months ago and the same, more than happy. Both are really accurate, everything works perfectly and they are in perfect shape.
The Seamaster in blue gets my vote anytime. You can go riding a Royal Enfield or attend a royal wedding. Timeless elegance.
Great vid chaps. For your consideration…….. the IWC Mark 18 (now 20) blue dial is the perfect timepiece. 40mm, date, only 11mm thick, screw down crown and the bracelet is comfortably perfect with its on the fly clasp adjustment, the best in the business.
I bought an aqua terra, a sub and another sub in the last 3 days. Do I have a problem?
Yes 😂
If I only wanted one watch to do all, I'd have the 36mm Rolex Explorer, wear it hiking or sailing with a nato strap, steel bracelet for everyday casual, black leather strap for Suit or Tuxedo events. It was kinda the G-Shock of its time as well as a stunner when need be.
Any thoughts about the 39mm Seiko ASTRON for that one watch collection ??
I have many watches and I love them all but since getting a Breitling Aerospace Evo I now basically have a "one watch collection" it's fantastic, light good looking, versatile and does everything a watch needs to do. I love it and haven't taken it off. Looks great on a nato too if you want to go casual
I’ve not owned one, but fully agree, it’s got it all
I have failed miserably to find a one watch collection! From Omega, Casio, Timex, Suunto, Nite, Baltany, I have tried to find the one watch to it all but, I can't seem to live without any of them!
When it comes to fine imitation watches, gussl delivers. I've bought from them several times, and I've never been let down.
Daily a Citizen AT2470-85L, 42mm, titanium. Blue textured dial, chrono with Eco drive & sapphire crystal. I swaer pictures don't do it justice, it's an amazing watch and extremly comfortable. Fully on board with the aquaterra. The longine really is a nice surprise i haven't heard much about
“Lovely jubbly bracelet” - pure comedy gold. Will be chuckling about that one for a while!
awesome picks! THANKS for this!

The Forzo Drive King looks beautiful in the baby blue. But none found online in that design. Any idea where it can be found?
It always amazes me how much beauty and precision are added to the parts of amzwatch's watch 99% of people will never see.

Seiko solar diver sne589. Great for the beach, mountains, office, work, restaurant. Always the correct time, error of a few seconds (maybe) a month.
Omega Aqua Terra and GS Snowflake are gorgeous

I ain’t swimming with this, so a leather strap is okay for me
A Lange sohne Odysseys is the one for me. Absolutely fantastic! Blue dial
I`ll take Glashütte Original PanoMaticLunar as my one and done. I truly wouldn`t need another watch.
I have a one watch collection, only it contains two watches 😅. Sinn 104 and Glycine GMT. I wear them on alternating months.
Great video as always, quick question, could we get a video on squale?
Keep up the great work
Citizen Tsuyosa: Which means, why didn’t we think of this before.😂 I had a real chuckle from that comment 😂😂
Not an out-there pic by any means but the blue skydweller on the jubilee is a fantastic looking watch
Vacheron constant overseas in blue with easy swap straps
Very useful n very enlightening presentation thnks guys !!!!!!!!!!!! 👍👍👍
Would love to know where in the UK (or in the World for that matter) you can buy a Casio Duro for 50 quid. Please tell me, I will send the money right away!
Longines hydroconquest 2 tone green gold rubber strap or the stunning tudor black bay 54 on rubber strap.
What’s with y’all and blue dials? I like blue too, but isn’t anything on the gray scale inherently more versatile?
The A. Lange and Sohne Odysseus is my #1 want.
Glad I bought the previous Aqua Terra with vertical lines (and 30% discount)
Blue dials are the best 🙂
that was incredible. what a beautiful watch and what great work you did on it!amzwatch
Aqua terra omega seamaster is perfect on the 38 Mm in the blue dial does both jobs
Love the GS Snowflake but I just can't deal with the Titanium case, its too light. I'm sure if you had one you would get used to it but it put me off.
Loved the Seamaster choice, it's unbeatable in it's price range. Same as the GS. But where is the speedmaster?
Odysseus makes absolute sense to me, although i hate the price and what it represents. (I would cheer for a Moser Streamliner any day of the week instead, though)
I would definately include in this list the prettiest watch of them all, the IWC Portugieser.
All good looking and versatile watches,…which I might add, you can buy easily at retail and are all
I absolutely LOVE one watch collections! I’ve got at least 10 of those!
love the list, love grand seiko, absolutely hate the power reserve display on the dial face.
I don't understand why a height dimension is given not to include the crystal. I was given to understand that the height dimension dealt with getting a watch under the cuff. That the crystal is transparent will not permit a tall one from fitting under a cuff. Great vid. Keep at it!
20 watch choices for a one-watch collection 🤣🤣🤣 you had me in stitches. Nice thought though…. And a great entertaining vid, thanks 🙏 👍👍👍
My one watch collection is Sinn 856 UTC - everything is just perfect in it!
Love that Longines. Does anyone out there wear a Moonphase every day? If so, which one? I’m looking around
Seiko Alpinist 1959 reinterpretation. 39mm, 200M, 60 Gauss, bullet proof, beautiful creme sunburst dial. 6R35 movement. Job done with plenty of change from $1000.
Great content ❤️ it would be better if you could display the model name.
Missed a trick on the spring drive - omiwatari in white from Japan - replicates the snowflake to a much higher level of finish
