As a metal head in the 80’s and 90’s I had long hair, earrings, leather jacket, white boots, metal t-shirt and always went to pubs and clubs filled with people like this and there was never, ever any trouble, just people enjoying non-mainstream music. Meanwhile guys wearing pink and yellow sweaters with trendy haircuts were going to ‘trendy’ pubs and clubs and getting glassed in the face. Don’t judge books by their covers.
Love that the music, attitude lives on but back in the day ( and I went to gigs from ‘77 to present day) the Mohican was not a thing, and even anything but bleach blond or shoe Polish black was a rarity, have to agree with the post card punk comment- sorry. Punk is attitude not comic book fashion.
The reverse-wheel-barrow-workout is by far the best workout of all. It is the only workout in which every muscle in your body is trained at the same time. You simply insert one of the handles of a wheelbarrow into your butthole, put your hands on your head and walk backwards trying to push the wheel barrow around. Naturally the wheel barrow will only go in a circle. Depending upon if you insert the left or right handle, the wheelbarrow turns right or left. If you manage to complete a circle without the wheel barrow falling over you will really feel great.
For a group of people who think of themselves as individuals they all look identical. Anybody who feels the need to ‘express themselves’ through their clothes or hairstyle is somebody not worth talking to.
That brings back memories. I used to go way back when it was "HiTS", then 'Wasted". I think I did a couple of "Rebellions" before I stopped going. It was always a much better atmosphere in Morecambe though. Blackpool was too full of pissed chavs of a night, for my liking.
I always found it to be the other way around. I've never had any bother in Blackpool but there were a couple of incidents in Morcambe going to and from the Dome/Market to the Carleton. A group of German Skinheads rectified one situation with a gang of local blokes who'd shouted "smelly bastards" from a couple of cars which then got stuck at a junction.
