- Nestled in the harbour of Aberdeen was a well-known pub, known for a no-nonsense attitude and a harsh landlord.
In an unearthed Sky One documentary, we're taken back to the legendary venue with a few curse words and a reminder of why Aberdeen will never be the same since Peep Peeps closed its doors.
The Toughest Pubs in Britain series covered many venues across the UK, with one episode featuring the Commerce Street establishment.
Owner Chris Cummings insisted the show had made the pub appear much worse than it is in real life, though locals claim his sharp-tongue was well known.
After Chris passed away in 2013, Peep Peeps couldn’t continue without him - and the pub was soon turned into flats.

I went to Peep Peepa a few times and all I spoke to there were friendly and down to earth working class folks. It was not a scary, tough pub as the video title says but was an old fashioned pub that could have been found in dockland areas around the country 40 or 50 years ago. It is sad that pubs like this are shutting down.

Went to Aberdeen in 2003 to DJ at a DnB club. The people were absolutely awesome! Partied super hard and had the greatest sense of humour. I'll never forget that trip.

I worked in Aberdeen for 2 years and ventured into lots of pubs but never this one. I never knew about it, toughest pub is up for debate.
Best pub for obnoxious twats who were never socialised more likely. If you can only express yourself in swear words it says little for your extent of vocabulary or intelligence as far as I'm concerned.

We had a rough pub on our doorstep in brum-, remember hiding under a table many a time when it kicked off. Something similar happened in an Irish pub in north London in 90s

Reminds me of when I was in the US Peace Corps in Belize, formerly British Honduras.A number of UK soldiers were stationed there. Including a group (sorry, don't know the military term) from Scotland.

There use to be a handful of "dive" bars with surly characters as owns like this in San Francisco. Sadly, they've all been gentrified or closed.

So the narrator still hasn't said why it is Britain's toughest pub. It's just a pub. Nothing more, nothing less
When I were a lad there was an army base about 5 miles away and every so often a couple of the twats would turn up in our village, upset some locals and then get knocked out.
One night they came back in two cars, there were 9 of them, and they were looking for the lads they'd run into the week before.
They made the mistake of going into the pub next door to _my_ local (which might well have been Satan's own pub, I don't know coz I've never been in there) and several of them had to take an ambulance ride home. We didn't see that lot again 🤷♂

It is oddly serene isn't it? Chris died in 2013 and the pub fell silent forever after that, the place has been converted into flats now.
