It's my birthday! So I made a cake that was all kinds of fun. Inspired by my favorite ice-cream, Streets Rainbow Paddlepop, and the crazy cool rainbow chocolate cakes of Katherine Sabbath - check out her amazing creations on Insta - / katherine_sabbath .

Materials -
* 8" round cake - 4 layers of 3/4" cake - I used 1 1/2 batches of our Vanilla Cupcake recipe - cake.style/2016...
* 1lb 12oz (800g) white chocolate ganache - see recipe • How to Make Chocoate G...
* 8" round cardboard cake plate
* 10" round cake board
* 3 rectangular chocolate mold trays - each with six 4" x 2" rectangles - www.bakerysugar...
* 2lb (900g) white chocolate
* 4 containers to place chocolate into
* Flo-coat - amzn.to/1q4uwcR
* Americolor food gel paste colors
Pink - Soft pink
Blue - Sky Blue
Yellow - Lemon Yellow
Purple - 2 parts Electric Purple, 1 part Regal Purple
* 4 piping bags - amzn.to/1VqsEJy

* scraper - amzn.to/1Tc5ocs
* turntable (optional)
* bamboo skewer or toothpick
* Assortment of gumballs, sugar-coated chocolate balls, 4mm sugar pearls and sprinkles

The only thing is, how to eat it. Just cut into the chocolate pannels. Or pull one off for each piece of cake. Cutting sounds like it could get messy.
Pulling one off or more to make it easier to access the cake without breaking the other pannels. And then putting it on top of the cake slice seems like it would look nicer. Get to enjoy the prettiness longer.
Eat the pannel last. While looking at it while chewing. LOL~ Till it's all gone. Take a photo before eating. LOL~ I never have a problem eating something pretty. I just take my time. Unless it's something I get to eat more often.
Like a couple of Macaron cookies. Just done in two quick bites when I am hungry or really want to have it. Hehehe~

Really Pretty Cake. I would sub out the Gum Balls with something more edible, but LOVE the pastel chocolate panels. Going to have to look for that additive to put in before the colour. Great Tip 👍🍰🎂👏👏

Such a fun cake! I can see a cake like this being a huge hit at a child's birthday party, much to the dismay of the parents! LOL It just seems like too much candy to me, though, and how do you cut into it without all the candy on top going everywhere? I realize some of the gumballs and whatnot should be anchored into the ganache but I'm sure not all of them will stick once the cake is cut.
