I really love it how you guys are making it very simple for people to understand especially for somebody like me. I am a Hawaiian girl that has lived on Maui since I was born. I have tried to get into Hawaiian school and I have not been able to since before I was 18 I tried to go to college but then I had kids and I became a lot of a struggle for me to actually go to get to learn Hawaiian language. I have a really big family and not a lot of us speak Hawaiian which is sad. I want to learn so that I can teach my kids and I am very happy that you guys are teaching this please teach more I love this.
love these videoʻs. I am a student of ʻōlelo Hawaʻi akā I never hear it spoken except in class. so this is a great review on pronunciation. Mahalo ʻO Kūlia koʻu inca.
I love these videos so much! You make it really easy to understand and memorise common Hawaiian phrases! I’m not going to go there anytime soon but I hope to be on the islands some day. Love ur vids🍭
I love watching your videos, you are both so fun together. Please keep making these! (Although I must say I sound ridiculous when I insert the English village I'm from in to No xxxx mai au! Haha)

Aloha! ʻO Mākiu (Matthew) koʻu inoa i ʻŌlelo Hawaiʻi. Makemake au i kou wikiō. No Texas mai au. (Please correct me if it’s wrong. I wasn’t sure whether to use kou or another possessive. And I couldn’t figure out a good way to say texas in Hawaiian phonology.) Mahalo!
Aloha e Mākiu! Maikaʻi nō. Mahalo no ke aʻo ʻana mai me mākou. Thanks for learning with us. Kou is a good possessive to use but more specifically in this instance, it would be kāu for the word your. Texas might be Kekeka. But itʻs perfectly fine to say Texas!!
Is there different ways to pronounce the states in Hawaii, I know your said California different than just saying that. So I was just wondering how the other states are pronounced I’m from Arizona but it sounds a little rough sayin “no Arizona mai au “
I have a question: Why are using the word "mai". I am studing Hawaiian language with Duolingo and, they not use it. They just say "No hea 'oe?" There is a special reason?
I speak Samoan and Maori not hawaii but guarantee it means same. "Hea" = Where, "No" = Place of belonging. Language structure is the hardest thing to learn, because it's slightly different than english.
@Jasmine Jackson Aloha. You could say it that way..no Moloka'i au but we're using this greeting in a way that is widely used in Hawaii. Most people would say...no Moloka'i mai au.
love it im watching 2023 i need more of uou ladies mahola
Aloha! No Germany mai au. Mahalo for your videos! I love learning new languages and that's really helpful!

That would be 'Nō hea mai koe?' in Māori. This is very interesting!
Can someone who speaks Māori understand someone who speaks Hawaiian?
@@everforward8651 no. I hear other polynesian languages and have a rough understanding, but that's about it
Why "mai"? I don't speak fluently but we just say, "no hea koe"

What is 'Happy Sabbath' in hawaii?
Is there a specific way to say Arizona in Hawaiian?
it sounds just ridiculous when I put my name and place im from in those sentences XD they don't sound Hawaiian at all 😂
Me too 😂😂
same 😂
it's equivalent to saying, ''my name is chongwongchi''. Hawaiian needs to be normalized
Look up your Hawaiian name
No Las Vegas mai ua!
What means no and what means mai ?
Aloha! Do you have to use "mai?" Is "No Moloka'i au", not the right way of saying "I'm from Molokai?"
@Jasmine Jackson Aloha. You could say it that way..no Moloka'i au but we're using this greeting in a way that is widely used in Hawaii. Most people would say...no Moloka'i mai au.

Hi. You don't say that you're from the United States because Hawai'i is a state here as well, you would say New Jersey. I hope this helps.
