Glad you got out safe from Risan. Strange little place. I worked there for 6 months as a nurse, part of a program we had in Norway supporting Montenegro. Crazy stuff going on in that port during nights! Famous for smuggelig activities with substances you dont want to know. The supermarket, near by the Mosaiks has some nice whole purcuto, dried smoked ham. perfekt for hanging i the boat. Take care :-) Best reg Michael from Norway, overwintering in North Carolina
You always seem so positive love seeing you upload awesome sailing adventures 👍🏼
That new 360 angle of the mooring is excellent- great to see and learn from 👍
I agree, single handing is tricky! Good to see how Sam solves the problems.
I love watching the sailing parts of the video the most. I used to sail and I know the feeling of when the boat is heeling over and your flying along. I really miss that feeling but I at least get to see it again because of you. Thanks Sam!
4:26 - "...'chugga, chug, chug' goes the engine; 'chugga, chug, chug' as Sam is thirsty and looking forward to some beers!" - "Cheers!"
Another great video, I’ve never sailed a boat in my life or even been on one yet I love these 🤷♂️
Keep the videos coming... I was surprised to see a boat from Boone NC.
Montenegro looks gorgeous! Reminds me of Croatia, which I love!
Sailing around there, I remember the winds coming in really fast and whipping down from the mountains - the more you heel the worse it gets. 😂
Totally 😁
Spectacular sailing and scenery Sam❤
good scenery good clouds good seas. and good how you displayed your chart screen. bummed you didn't get the IPA in Risan....oh..and good hair!
Great video dude! Really enjoyed it! Glad you made it out in one piece with that gnarly wind
Thanks!
The hairs on the mole on your right shoulder are pointing up, that means there is a high pressure system moving in with winds from 10-12 knots from the north.
nice to see the docking !
Thanks Sam Holmes.
Great video Sam. It looked like an amazingly beautiful place
I love watching others tie up to slips single-handed. Hoping I can get better at it as well. Although I would hate thinking I was being filmed! Kudos to your courage, Sam!
Thanks for sharing - love your videos!
Hi Sam, I hope you are staying safe and enjoying life. You have peaked my interest in sailing, and, in fact, I just advertised my motorcycle and speedboat to trade for a sailboat. Nothing big, around 20-22ft. Anyway, I don't want to waste your time, but what would you suggest for a navigation systems. I live in Prince Edward Island, Canada and will not be going very far. At most, perhaps circumnavigation the Island.
Take care man and please keep the videos coming.
Look into a Pacific Seacraft Flicka, or a Dana. Both are nice pocket cruisers and very seaworthy.
Depends on the condition of any particular boat.
Boats are cheap, fixing and Maintaining is very expensive.
Hope you can get the Aussie Open Sam! Loved your still shots around town!
Great Video love your content
I go fast you go slow always refreshing to watch your journey
Keep on keeping on🎈
I hope you were able to find burek in Croatia. It's really good there.
Love your videos!
Super video. Thank you
As always a great video.
Great to see you enjoying a marina check in for a change. Loved the video!!❤️👍🎉
Enjoyed the episode. Have fun
No beer and your bow line snapping! Just another day😊
Havent watched for a little while but wanted to say your sails are beautiful. Not sure when you got them but they sure make the boat. 360 cam is really cool too.
I haven't been able to watch in a while. How did my fave sailor go from quirky lil fella to flowing haired Fabio? Good gravy! Lol
The landscape and the towns on the shoreline, just amazing scenery, I don't know how to do the peace sign on my pc lol
Sam Holmes. The absolute legend.
Legend? Hmmm never heard of him..
I went to croatia last year very beautiful
I love this ....
As always Sam. Great video
Very calm as usual
Thanx dude, take care, good vibes your way as always, Crackerjack.
Sam, in adriatic always look at gusts for windspeed, thers allways more wind as predicted as sustained.
Looking back when I first started watching you to today. what looked like blind faith and health modifications and now today. Dude, I’m impressed with the confidence you have from where you started. It’s the same Sam, but weathered and distanced in different shores. Great stuff.
I was hoping you and Erik (NBJS) would have had a short spin off, but I understand the difference in sailing dialect.
It wouldn't work at all IMO... Erik has the whole 'dramatic' thing he does with his vids, while Sam's style is super chill.
@@Ash-cy7yw you hold no weight.
You should hang out at Porto Novi for the summer. Wonderful here then. We could meet!
Sam, that sail looked insane, after about 7 tacks I would have reached for the key and turned on the motor. Is the trans really that bad or did you really want to sail that area?
Reminded me of Captain Dan during the storm on the shrimp boat in Forrest Gump😅
I went to college at Appalachian State. So bizarre seeing a boat from Boone in Montenegro 😮
I know. So bizarre!
How the new sails going??
Love the vids can you show us on a map the complete route you have completed so far and distance estimates so i can check it on my maps see if they are the same good look sam keep safe
Thanos for dropping in to show the mosaics.
always a good time thanks Sam
I fancy a beer now, even though I haven't had breakfast yet.
A close run thing. a fulcrum of chaos. yikes
Hmm 6 hrs to travel 4 miles, If you ran the engine how long would it take and how many gallons of fuel,
At 4 kts, one hour enroute and about 1/3 of a gallon of diesel.

Does Djokovic have a yacht?
Nole bought a two and a half million worth yacht “Manhattan 60”, so he could enjoy cruising at the Mediterranean. The yacht has four cabins, lounge, kitchen, bathroom and a speedboat.
Sailing upwind..uhhh slow going.. what country is this?
Too bad they didn’t welcome you to the inside of the breakwater - was it full?
Have you considered a stern sculling setup for those 0.6Nm parts?
Enjoy your travels !
Running a line with dampener through a ring back to the boat makes it more likely to shave through at the ring because it moves back and forth.
So how would you secure to a ring?
@@joekavanagh5708 either a knot directly to the ring (preferred) or back to the boat without dampener.
IPA indian pale ale for anyone interested is a beer with added hops which make it survive the long passage from England to India with out going bad. I thought it tasted like dish water and was only for dumb hipsters but i guess I've turned into a dumb hipster, its all i drink these days.
Hi Sam. Great channel. Do you have any details or contacts at the Calypso company? I have the same Ultrasonic wind instrument and it is showing some crazy readings. 119knots of wind in my lounge! Any contacts or advice appreciated.
Hey. Yeah Fernando was helping me with mine. fpascual@calypsoinstruments.com. I haven’t had great luck with it though
I'm training and planning my life around living like you Sam. Do you have any advice for someone wanting to live like you?
Hey sam! Im curious how you manage to upload and such. Are you using starlink? Im really curious and intrested to start sailing and i dont know if starlink is good while sailing or such. How do you do it? :)
Nice mosaics
Sam. I know sailing (some) and I know Montenegro quite well, but have never combined the two. So thanks for putting me 'right there'. The Lovcen mountains which surround the bay of Kotor fall from over 5000ft literally straight down into the sea so it's not surprising you get some fierce squally weather off those peaks. And it was also interesting to hear how reasonable the marina was. Montenegro is always trying to attract 'premium' inward investment and build itself as a kind of Monaco of the eastern Med. I'd have expected higher marina fees than that.
Wonder how that guy sailed from Boone. Lol
What Is your favorite IPA? Sam
A lot to choose from !
In America
In the US i’m a fan of Stone’s IPAs
Not saying he drank the entire wine bottle... But his path sure looks like he was drunk😂
Oh Sam.
Definitely tell this a old video because no shirt and it's freezing everywhere lol
hope you like it!!
Have you ever though of making your own mooring out of concrete?
i always wanted to learn to sail living in kentucky makes is kinda hard guess ill live through you😁 do you accept Bitcoin?
Hey Sam, just curious, what part of NC are you from?
Wake forest
He hoped that Montenegro would be the last video of the year, because visiting those beautiful places in such weather makes no sense. This is not even M from Montenegro. I am sad in advance if my Croatia will also be in that spirit..
I’ll get to hit Croatia again next season on my way back out.
can anyone tell me the name of the navigation App hes using on the cockpit tablet? (yellow backlit) Thanks
Navionics garmin owns it now
Also check this out Sam, just learn the lyrics! its awosome its Dutch so, sorry for that. IM GONNA SAIL THE WORLD. ooh i hope so.....
love you man.
Sorry Sam, but 6:37 was pretty funny.
🇿🇦♥️👋🏻
Time for a haircut or at least a trim.
how ignurt
59th like 420th viewer🤙
You would have been a hippy back in the day
Thanks! Not sure if that’s enough for a beer 😅
On the coast, dunno either, but go inland and can pay as little as $2.50 a large beer. And it's good stuff too! 🙂
Thanks. Cheers 🍻
Dude them finger nails! You run out of toilet paper?
It’s time man, get a haircut. and a proper wet shave
Love the videos. I have a question, did you replace your standing rigging on the Pickle?
I’m digging the do Samwich.
Soon you can braid it Native American style with two, one on each side of your head.
Your boat ever get searched by the gestopo?
Just customs officers in Croatia
Thanks!
Thanks!
