I spoke to a former female Olympic coach at a all women’s boxing conference this weekend that I accidentally got invited too. They didn’t let me practice with the girls but they let me watch and take notes. They told me I could listen and learn and I did. I was still able to share with the doctor running the conference useful cues when coaching the athlete’s guard position ( staggered stance, front rack with neutral wrist position… duh?) regardless of who got more we all learned something that day. Again I’m found myself asking who coaches the coaches because at an Olympic level they’re still struggling with gender politics? Really? I don’t really think so but… I’m a non-convicted felon so I can not recall who has said what and when. But we’ve all got a lot of figuring out to do in order to make these moves towards some slither of solace for a better tomorrow🤦🏽‍♀️
