Many Vikings fans have died before me waiting to watch them hoist the Lombardy. I too may die in this way. If I do I will die knowing I did my duty and carried the torch.
At least I was alive during the days of Kirby Puckett
The Saints Super Bowl is tainted and doesn't deserve to be called a win
As a Vikings fan, I say we did lose that game. Yes, the whole Bountygate controversy sucked. But, do you know what could have prevented it? Adrian Peterson not fumbling multiple times in the red zone and the Brett Favre interception when he could have ran for extra yardage to have a game-winning field goal set up.
That year should forever be remembered as the "Katrina Bowl". The NFL was set on making New Orleans feel good to help recover from the hurricane.
WORD IS BOND
@@tomschuster4859It does really make you think about how far they will push narratives. 2001 Patriots- after 9/11- made me think the same thing.
@@manzac112 The only reason Brett threw that pass was because his ankle was so busted up he couldn't run.. Did you forget that part? Yeah...Adrain fumbling at the goal line after Reggie muffed that punt would have driven a stake thru the Saints black heart! But Adrain had been fumbling all year.. In fact if he didn't fumble in a Monday Night game against the Bears which caused us to lose that game, the NFCCG would have been played at the Met instead of the SuperDome.
The Vikings hate the Packers so much they refuse to win a Lombardi Trophy.
🤣
Never thought of it that way. Pretty good. If they ever do win one they should cross the name off and write *Grant* in magic marker
@@broken927 the FBI wants to know your location.
Lol😂
Brett “fuck it and chuck it” Favre. Thank you for that.
That was fucking hilarious
The Vikings became cursed when they removed Odin from the back of the end zone in old Met stadium. They just need to put a statue of him back up somewhere down on the field and then the curse will be lifted and they will no longer only be second best.
I've haven't heard of that, that's a very interesting idea though.
Bring Odin back but have a retractable stadium roof , and when a warmer weather team comes up to play , they open up the roof , especially if Odins winds are starting up during the game , I wonder if a home team ( NFL commission)can retract closed one minthen open back another min? Depending who has the ball
Things are going well so far this year. Now I've probably jinxed it.
Dude!!!
Nah, the curse is already in play. It's not your fault when this year's team collapses.
No jinx was as deadly as the one Pat Summeral did to us in the 98 game when he just HAD to say that Anderson hasn't missed all year! Stupid sob!
There is also the curse of former Vikings Offensive or Defensive Coordinators going elsewhere… and almost immediately winning Super Bowls.
Actually that's called. Has the knowledge an expertise to make champions. They just need good enough upfront staff to keep them once they have them
Sam Darnold will break this curse this year 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
don't bet on it with 13 games to go.
We started 5-0 with Sam Bradford in 2016, we shouldn’t get too cocky. I hope Darnold brings us to the promise land though.
@@ChillHandle12 Yes that year Teddy Bridgewater and Adrian Peterson were out of the season due injuries. Bradford was traded in the last minute. Hope this season vikes won't suffer serious injuries.
@@ChillHandle12 no way were they going to get far with Bradford and defense had so many injuries.
Shit mane you're gonna make me a football fan. This lore is intriguing
Glad to hear it mane lol got a lot more on the way
They need to put he Norseman logo on the helmet and get rid of the horns. Only then can the curse be broken
But thats the best part of their uniform
Love the new content 👍
Because Mike Lynn screwed Max Winter out of his organisation
Mrfrikcast AS LIFELONG VIKING FAN AND STILL AM WILL BE ALWAYS THIS A AWESOME ASSESSMENT OF THE THIS FRANCHISE. THANKS FOR YOUR FOR YOUR POST ! THANK YOU AGAIN.
Thanks, glad you think so! Skol!
LOL 😂. The color commentary is hilarious.
As a Packers fan, I have wondered about the Vikings curse as well. But it feels like Minnesota in general is cursed in pro sports but more specifically the leagues with male athletes. The Twins were the last Men's pro sports team to win any major championship with the World Series in 1991. One possible explanation could when the (the) Minneapolis Lakers moved to LA in 1960, it was a year later when the Vikings were established as an NFL franchise. Although the Twins won the World Series since then, that was believed to be a fluke since the baseball team was originally from Washington DC and known as the Washington Senators originally. But other Pro sports franchises in the Men's leagues have yet to win a championship.
The Minnesota North Stars failed to win a Stanley Cup until they moved to Dallas and later won the Cup there. The Minnesota Wild are also failing to do the same thing now. There is now the Minnesota United soccer team in the MLS league but they are still a young franchise so they haven't quite experienced the curse yet. The Minnesota Timberwolves had a long history of falling short of NBA playoffs and last year they had their best season ever only to fall short of the Championship appearance. As already mentioned, the Twins have yet to get to the World Series since their win in 1991. Now the only exception to this rule would be the Minnesota Lynx of the WNBA but they are a Women's pro sports team and I think this curse is limited to the Men's pro sports leagues. The Lynx have 4 WNBA starting in 2011, followed by another one in 2013. Once again in 2015 and finally their last one in 2017. So from 2011-2017 the Lynx won a championship ever other year.
Anyways that's a possible explanation for a curse that spirit of the Minneapolis Lakers has haunted the state of Minnesota and maybe even the spirit of the Minnesota North Stars joined in on the curse.
the subsidized basketball association doesnt count, it only exists because of funding from the NBA.
FYI, Twins win 2 championships. 87 against the Cardinals, and 91 against the Braves.
@@johnzdrazil2140 Yes that's true but the last one was in 1991 and that was the last title that the State of Minnesota has claimed in Men's pro sports.
sounds reasonable. I've been a Vikings fan since I was 8, in 1968. we find EVERY way to lose. sad. everyone is SO hyperbolic about a 3-0 start. but, unfortunately, this TEAM has nowhere near the talent we've had in seasons before.
I usually say the same thing, but this Franchise feels different now! I don’t know why, but I believe we’re in the SB by 2027
ED Throp Trophy 🏆
I'm not so sure about that.. yeah we don't have Randy Moss, but we have Jets... We have a defensive Coordinator who really knows his shit.. we got a new stadium and a new attitude. We have a HC who's won a SB.. we have owners that aren't used car salesmen from some hick state.. And we have a QB that seems to have risen from the ashes
I sometimes think about how the Cardiac Vikings survived numerous close games in 2022, including the greatest comeback in NFL history by margin of deficit, only to finally lose a close game against the Giants at home no less. Then again, they didn't have to be embarrassed by the Eagles again. Also in 2003 the Vikings started out 6-0 only to miss the playoffs to the lowly Cardinals on a Hail Mary play. Finally, another possible curse could have been trading Fran Tarkenton to the Giants in 1967 though he would be reacquired in 1972, forcing Joe Kapp to play in Super Bowl 4. Then again, Tarkenton may very well have struggled as much against the Chiefs as he did with the Dolphins, Steelers, and Raiders.
Love how the thumbnail says curse of almost😂 (I’m from Minnesota btw it is a struggle every year)
I cant believe it.. every time just before he cursed the Packers, I cursed them first! It was automatic... I screamed "OF COURSE IT WAS THE GOD DAM PACKERS"
Been watching the Vikings my whole life, I'm in my early 30s now. I sometimes wonder what's worse, having never won a superbowl or having won one of the four in the 1970s and now being over 50 years removed from that championship? Like how in the NBA the Milwaukee Bucks won in '71, and didn't win again for five decades until 2021
I think Super Bowl 4 started all for the Vikings. I still say if they won Super Bowl 4, they would be the most dominant team of the 70s and maybe stop the steal curtain in Super Bowl 10 and become a dynasty instead of the Steelers in that decade. I would say Cowboys Navy Blue curse is real because every time they were them in a big game they lose or a tight end curse no first round tight end has ever been in the hall of fame. That's my NFL curses I think it's real besides the Pottsville Maroons Curse.
That's interesting. I've always wondered how different their history would be if they had won just one of those Super Bowls. From what I understand though, the AFC was just better the NFC at that time. The Purple People Eaters defense was dominant against the pass but were underweight and overmatched against these bigger teams. The Cowboys one is interesting lol makes sense why they always wear white. And yeah, 1st round tight ends seem to rarely pan out. Wasn't Gonzalez a 1st rounder though?
@frickcast Yes, I think he's the only Tight End first rounder to be a hall of famer if I remember correctly.
You know do whatever you like still cool content!
Thanks mane!
still waiting on the soap reviews lol
Might have something this weekend
Hey now. Cousins broke that Monday night prime time football curse. Just as soon as we got rid of him...
We also are 3-0 for the first time since before Cousins. He held our franchise back
didnt cousins beat 49ers monday night last year?
I was actually referring to the curse that any team that loses to Cousins fails to win the Super Bowl. Forgot he had the prime-time curse too lol.
i brought paulo santo to wave around at training camp and .......it worked
we should be good to go now
Been watching the Vikings since the 70's , my friends are wondering if they'll EVER win a Superbowl before we die!
Never
The football gods did it when the Vikings beat the Bears on their first game ever.
So basically the Vikings are the Midwest version of the eagles before 2017
Wrong. They are the Chargers of the NFC.
Minus the Unbelievable stats that MN has as a franchise.
Is it possible that it could be the Tarkenton Curse?
Vikings drafted him, then a few years later traded him to NY.
Even though FT came back, (via trade, or however) even though they didn't win a SB with him. Maybe Francis doesn't even know it.
If so, how is it lifted then?
Reading the comments and someone mention about the Viking's Odin stadium statue. It was funny that this was mention because one time as i was watching a old Vikings game being played at the old stadium I saw this very tall god like statue figure. I did not get a good feeling seeing that statue. The Minnesota Vikings franchise organization has a Baal type false god statue on the team's playing field. If there is a true curse on the Vikings this could be a good reason. The bible said not to worship, bow or associate with any others gods or statues or figures.
When the vikings miss a field goal me and my nephew and I say he walshed it 😂😂😂
It's the curse of the billy goat.
I read somewhere that when Minnesota was granted a football team that the owners and possibly GM Jim Finks agreed with Lamar Hunt to join the AFL. Shortly after that they jumped "ship" to the NFL. Please fact check.
You are Correct! I was going to post the same thing. Vikings were assigned to the AFL and the Raiders to the NFL. Vikings wanted to play in the NFL and switched with the Raiders . One teams trophy case has Hardware and the other cobwebs!
Dont look now, this team rocks.
Built atop a Native American burial ground. That's why.
Prove it
It's just a joke man, relax.
I thought aaron Rodgers invited the hailmary? Or was it brett farve
There’s drunken pumpkin at my walmart
Nice! I've been keeping an eye out at mine
Get out, I was at my Wal Mart, and I didn't see it.
@@AndrewWarrenPatriotsfan swear to god I’ll send you a pic I got some
The mystery continues.....
The Vikings are an opera... they both always end tragically.
Maybe it has something to do with the Kensington Runestone, and how it is being(mis)treated? 🤔
That's an interesting idea
Max Winter and the Vikings were rejected by b the N F L.
Max signed a contract with the A F L.. The N F L countered the offer. Max broke the contract with the A F L. The A F L cursed Winter and said he will never win a championship
It's the Whiskey bottle curse.
1:00 what about Bridgewater?
No body speaks about teddy
Because he sucked
@dillonstandley4330 when in prime, minnesota had some hope.
Not because of skill, but it was new
True. I was mainly mentioning the stand out seasons or the multi-year consistent starters, but you could throw Teddy, Bradford, Keenum, etc. in there as well.
No such thing as curses.
I still believe we can win it this year. But I believe every year so what do I know? 😂
This season seems special, we'll see how far it goes, but the future seems bright.
If we can bet on it, it’s rigged.
2024 is next
They're not cursed, they're just a very small market/fan base team, one that doesn't earn the NFL much profit compared tot he large market teams. The Seahawks ran into the same "curse" in Super Bowl XL. Before the game, they did a poll, and 85% of fans were hoping for the Pittsburgh Steelers. Now THAT is a curse in a profit driven league.
The market size of the city is more of an NBA thing, that rarely affects the NFL. Would you say Kansas City Missouri is a big market?
@@byronbanuelos9665 According to BolaVIP they have the sixth largest fan base, so yeah, I consider that a big market. Vikings are 23rd largest. I would bet KC has millions of "secondary" fans too, people that will happily watch their games because of Mahomes, Kelce, etc. What do you think?
@@byronbanuelos9665 According to BolaVIP, KC has the 6th biggest fan base in the nfl. I would say that's definitely a big market.
@@byronbanuelos9665 Add in the "secondary fan base," the NFL fans that will watch a KC game because of Mahomes, Kelce, etc., and their fan base is huge.
@@byronbanuelos9665 Meanwhile the Vikings have the 23rd largest fan base.
The franchise is cursed because the fanbase is insufferable 😂😂
True ☝️
The Minnesota Vikings will never win a Super Bowl. They are a joke of a franchise. Zygi Wilf needs to relocate the team and sell this stupid franchise. I’m honestly done with supporting this organization. 😂🤣
Stupid? 🤔
This is the Vikings year 3-0!!!
4-0
The only joke is whiney fans. Probably the curse right there. Vikes are 4-0 you jackwagon.
Forget about winning a Super Bowl, first things first, you have to get to a Super Bowl
