  • For years or even decades they have been embarrassing eyesores on the cityscape, and more recently have become magnets for crime and in some cases death traps.

    New Orleans has always been a cesspool much like Chicago, or Detroit, Trenton and Baltimore after industry collapsed. Sadly some US cities are unsalvageable. There could have been a post-Katrina renaissance but predictably corruption prevailed.
