She's the funniest in this skit just by her voice and her look & demeanor ! Everyone else great too playing their role ! So fun to watch! They were comedy magic. Just watching these clips & the phone booth remind me of my childhood days. Seems so long ago! I can't actually remember seeing a phone booth back then, just the pay phones, but apparently they must have still been around.
I love rotary phones as well... My sister bought me one for Christmas 2 years ago... a real honest-to-God red rotary Western Electric phone, circa 1969... best telephone I've ever owned!
Phone booths, drive up phones, rotary phones and party line phones. My grandmother had a party line phone and on Sundays when we went to visit her we would eavesdrop on her neighbors conversation until granny walked in the room and caught us and made us hang up😂😂😂
phone booths will be in museums. not too many left. its all cell phones and land based phones will disappear. how l wish for yesterday when life was simpler
I still remember phone booths. In fact I know of 1 that still works! It's in LaCrescent ,Minnesota! You dial the number, and it tells you how much money to feed the phone.😁
Ahhhhh, oh how I miss those days of the public telephone booths, the outside mailboxes on street corners painted "Red and Blue", the milkman, rotary house phones, and trimline phones w/tiny buttons, a live customer service representative instead of, "Press 1, Press 2, a life without electronic devices(cellular phones, computers, ipads), the music, tv shows, and American Motors vehicles(Pacers, etc). I just miss the 20th Century all together. 😖 The people back then, had a different mindset, different set of values. //Sighing// 😳 Oh, guys, if you really dig the gorgeous Vicki Lawrence, check out Carol Burnett's other sketch. The other sketch is the desert sketch, titled, "Lost In The Sahara". It features Harvey Korman and Tim Conway. Vicki plays the hot lookin' cocktail waitress, showing legs. Funny sketch. You will enjoy it! 😂 Tony 59-year-old Black Air Force VET 🇺🇸 And railroad lover 🚂//Toot Toot//
@ I guess I am an old school, or nostalgia kind of guy. I even love old music and television shows on MeTv, and ANTENNA TV. Those are two classic television satellite stations, in my town. Do you get those stations in your town? Tony 59-year-old Black Air Force VET 🇺🇸
I gotta admit I kinda miss payphones. Here in my part of Arkansas I haven't seen one in years. Last time I saw one was in June 2019 on a vacation to Arizona. It was in a mall, and I think it was still active.
Carol: "I thought you were going to get a belt, drunko!" Harvey: "Twelve blocks! Who are you trying to kid?" Vicki: "What happened to your taxi, hotshot?" Lyle: "Pantyhose! You didn't fool me for a minute!"
Three weeks ago, I bought a little electronic gadget by the name of Tele-Q. It runs off two nine volt batteries and recreates the 90 Volts Alternating Current at 20 Hertz to make any, and I mean any, telephone ring. It costs $125.00. I like restoring old stuff, and needed it to check some of the vintage Bell and Western Electric Telephones I'm working on. That's how the phone rings on Que. The gadget works best with them. Damn I love Rotary phones. Except people who have "0"'s and "9"'s. =^.^=
+Roger That guy was a regular dancer with Don Crichton. They called them, in later shows, the Don Chricthon dancers. Lots of them were in skits, as background characters, or silent roles. Often they had small speaking parts as well.
+Joanne VanKuren Ok, so you are just telling me his name is Lyle Wagner. My comment was a reference to a skit on Corner Gas about a guy dressed in a denim shirt and jeans. Did you fall out of the denim tree he was asked as a joke. He didn't take kindly to it, lol.
I just love that Vicki Lawrence high-pitched voice. I loved it as a kid and it still cracks me up now :-)

I love this humorous drama. It really shows that Lyle Waggoner was more vital and more of a true member than given credit for.
Easy come easy go, love this show
love the carol burnett show.
Anyone out there remember phone-booths ?
& calling a friend; letting it ring once... hangging up; the signal for them to call the booth; saving a dime!
And wait till you put the penny in it within a tiny box
Of course, it wasn't that long ago!
@@ADEehrh Or however much it was.

I miss them so much.!
❤The Best Comedy Before those Stupid TV sitcoms I could never watch🤓❗❤
Vickie's binbo personality is so cute!
I love the exchange between Lyle and Vickie:
Vickie: "What happened to your taxi, hotshot?"
Lyle: "Pantyhose! You didn't fool me for a minute!"
I still remember phone booths.

😂 we need more of these
I can recall when this was first broadcast. Vicki Lawrence's line "these are shot" broke me up then and broke me up now!
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂 I miss those skits! Lololol
Reminds me of the Mojave Phone Booth. Called it once. A camper answered. Fun.
Old Day Memory
Just so funny!! Funny sketch!!

There was a song about you called, "Green eyed lady", by a group called Sugarloaf, back in the early 70s. 😏
I never met a green eyed lady.
Nowadays instead of those people sitting in front of a phone booth waiting for a bus, they'd all be sitting at a bus stop looking at their phones.
Yes truly said
That's what's called an addiction (and a very expensive one).
My thought exactly. Also nowadays they won't be interacting with each other.
Figaro Hey! : Nicely said!
That's right!
"Say la vee" = C'est la vie = That's life, or Life is life
He was an original cast member on The Carol Burnett Show. IMDB says he was on there from 1967 to 1974. Then, he left to go work on Wonder Woman
From a side angle, Lyle Waggoner had the greatest tight body.
He was gorgeous
Dude was FRIGGIN 🔥 HOT!! No matter WHAT angle!! Can you IMAGINE how many times that stud was hit on...by females....AND males ??!!
A lot of guys back then had great asses.
Steve Trevor on the Original Wonder Woman. He was lucky to work with Lynda Carter
The classic gang, all they needed was Tim Conway.
Yep, I sure do!! I remember the phone booths and the pay phones!! Sure don't see any of these anymore!!!
I gotta admit I kinda miss payphones. Here in my part of Arkansas I haven't seen one in years. Last time I saw one was in June 2019 on a vacation to Arizona. It was in a mall, and I think it was still active.
Oh wow! I actually saw one in a hospital a couple weeks ago, lol! I just stared at it like it was something new!

Harvey: "Twelve blocks! Who are you trying to kid?"
Vicki: "What happened to your taxi, hotshot?"

Vicky Lawrence has great legs!
Two problems with that phone booth: A) It's not bigger on the inside and B) it doesn't travel through space n time...
And Who are you; a doctor?
Legs!!!!
Vicki Lawrence had great legs. That show was my favorite.
Vicki has good talent…..but wow she has a great pair of legs 😍😍
Brilliant act
Ah, the era of the public phone ended not that long ago but it seems like it was.
Believe it or not the public telephone.25 cents is still everywhere in Canada
The best!

I got a call in an elevator. Don't remember what they wanted although they laughed when I told them it's an elevator phone.
who is the man with the denim jacket? he is so handsome.
amin Lyle Waggoner
He also played on the show wonder woman.
Better question, remember mini skirts, and trying to be a “lady”? Impossible!
Things get awkward real fast.Dont they?
would u answear it???
😀
Who played the crazy man towards the end?
+Roger That guy was a regular dancer with Don Crichton. They called them, in later shows, the Don Chricthon dancers. Lots of them were in skits, as background characters, or silent roles. Often they had small speaking parts as well.
Stan Mazin was the guy
get a cell phone.
That guy must have fallen out of the denim tree :-)
Lyle Wagoner
+Joanne VanKuren Ok, so you are just telling me his name is Lyle Wagner. My comment was a reference to a skit on Corner Gas about a guy dressed in a denim shirt and jeans. Did you fall out of the denim tree he was asked as a joke. He didn't take kindly to it, lol.
I feel bad for the video uploader, he owns nothing.
