      I don't know if he's talking about their King of the Ring match in 2002 but I just watched that match yesterday and Kurt legit cut a promo backstage at KotR before the match laying into the interviewer for saying that people were saying that this is a fight between two real American heroes.
      It looked sort of like a shoot promo but I think it was more of a Kayfabe breaking promo because he said that he was the one who legit won an Olympic medal for his country, meanwhile he said that Hulk Hogan is an American Hero because Vince told him he was. If Vince had told him to be a Zoo keeper Hogan would be a zoo keeper today. It really surprised me for a promo in that day and age where Kayfabe was faithfully kept, Kurt was giving a little peek behind the curtain.

      That's the saddest part about the whole thing. This coming from a guy who loved the Hulkster as a kid. The character is still one of the best ever and what he did for the business in terms of popularity can't be forgotten. But the man, the human being underneath it all is just such a piece of shit. I recently listened to an interview where he spoke about the Screwjob where literally every detail was wrong almost to the participants lol. The only thing he got right was that it happened. Just everything you'd never want your kid to be.

      @@liamjohnstone1062 We had pro wrestling for 80 years at that point. It’s possible WWE doesn’t become the worldwide leader. But it was the time of major acquisitions. Someone would have taken control of a really popular product.
      We’d still have Ric Flair, Sting, Macho Man, Andre, Bret Hart, Rocky Steamboat, Roddy Piper, Sean Michaels, etc., wrestling would be different, but we would still have wrestling.

    • @peluchefuzz
      @peluchefuzz Год назад +2

      Legendary because he could work the crowd and had the boss behind him. Now they worry about people outdoing him since they can work the crowd just as well and deliver in ring so they give them obstacles to keep Hogan on top

    • @Zebojr2kool
      @Zebojr2kool Год назад +3

      @@jtboss8139 ARE YOU CAPITALIZING WORDS BECAUSE ITS IMPORTANT THAT YOU MAKE SURE EVERYONE KNOWS YOU THINK YOURE SMART ABOUT A BUSINESS when actually you know very little.
      When Hogan was on top, his ring work was excellent. Not because he could do 1001 moves and holds but because when he was in the ring he could make everyone in the audience care about what he was doing.
      See you need to holds and moves and death defying flippity dippity because the workers CANT TELL A STORY in the ring.
      You’re not smart about “the business” cause you think every match has to be Wrestlemania quality every time when that’s not the case.

    That's a rare kindness from Hulk not burying the guy. Also I wonder if Hulk panicked about the spot and the harder hit snapped him out of it. If you have a bad back you tend to protect it subconsciously. It stuns me just how much he bumped in his 2002-2003 run.
