Weather in the puget sound or any harbor that has a tidal flow not directly on the ocean beaches. You should find them. They are a very common clam. If you can dig a razor clam on the beach. There probably wont be any cockles there.

Hi I do a lot of clamming in the coos bay area I dig a lot of horse nack but I'd love to dig some gooey duck clam

marine area 9 Port Townsend areas on public beaches and marine area 12 Hoods Canal also public beaches only open on certain months out of the year.
