I love watching Stan. I grew up in the end of the Johnny "Mac" era and beginning of the Agassi era. When Stan's head is right, I think he could beat ANYONE. He's by far my favorite to watch.
Thank you for these longer highlight videos. I really appreciate how they are cut together! I notice that the commentators are also not cut off all the time. Somebody made an effort. Easily the best highlights of any major tournament!
Etcheverry really played his heart out, he lost steam at the end but he was not backing down on those massive baseline battles. Stan showed why he was a slam winner, bottomless stamina and the beast is back!

I dont want to crush the party - and I like Stans game so much (I am an "old" man as well 😅). But Etcheverry made in almost all critical situations errors which gave Stan breaks etc. Additionally Stan is only blocking since Cincinnati the opponents serve and therefore his returns getting quite short. Stans joker is still his unbelievable baseline power, not only his famous backhand, as well the forehand is excellent. Would really love to see him winning against Sinner.
All through the match Stan was blocking back the serves as if they were coming at 130 mph. They consistently fell short giving the advantage to the opponent who frequently took it. You'd think he would adjust and put more pace on the returns as the match went on. His superior defense held up, however. A crowd favorite.
I don't know why this shot now is more dangerous at this year us open ,and Andy Murray had lots of problems during his match, i would like to see stats on why
