You are correct Roger's wonderful reflexes and his super all round play meant he would have been an excellent doubles player .He did win Olympic Gold with Stan W which indicates his ability . His mixed Doubles play was also very successful.
@@Thebtfgame 11:34. Is it legal that the ball touched stan's racquet twice? The ball hit stan's web of the racquet, and then the ball jumped to the frame of stan's racquet. I suspect the japanese should have won that point if we saw some close-zommed replays.

Some of the most stunning modern doubles I've ever watched! Stan and Roger could easily have won multiple slams if they'd played together more. Nishikori absolutely awesome here - and his partner was pretty good, too.
It would be so much fun to have Feder as doubles partner, he jokes, he laughs, he hit first serves over 120, he can volley any shot, and he’s can hit overheads. I am only 5’7 so I can literally sit on his shoulder like a little kid and blast overheads! 😊 I seen a doubles match where he played against Agassi and Nadal, and his partner was Pete Sampras and he even made Sampras laugh out loud, and Nadal couldn’t stop smiling at Feders jokes! Feder was so funny he stole the show with him and Agassi were very funny playing against each other! This match was so amazing also and makes want to go play some doubles!
Could make the same argument for a lot of singles players. Becker, Sampras, Edberg, Ivanisevic, even Connors could've achieved more in doubles had he given up on singles Massive what if considering Federer played very little doubles and was far from dominant when he did
Yeah, he could've for sure... perhaps even more so in the second part of his career, whith that extreme attack disposition and taking the ball extremely early.
Absolutely. I've been watching this game for 45 years and seen the best doubles player of all time - Mcenroe - a number of times. I've seen Roger in the flesh only once but have watched lots of him on video including some brilliant doubles. He just needed to play (quite a bit) more and I reckon he would have surpassed Mcenroe. His doubles court-craft is excellent as it is - but you need to be playing week in week out to hone it (as Mcenroe did).....
Hi The BTFGAME. Loved this video and never seen this match before. May I ask where you got the footage from? I need some points from this full match for one of my own videos ;) Much appreciated in advance

I think it was connected to not not enough hours in a day and the fact that Singles is better rewarded than Doubles. Remember Roger and Stan were close friends and shared a physio but as I said earlier it is time consuming to play both Singles and Doubles especially when you often have a bad back.
Then you haven’t watched enough doubles. Modern day singles is just two ball machines going against each other. Doubles is much more explosive and dynamic. Not even the same game.
