About Project Fame: Project Fame West Africa is a regional music talent reality TV Show produced in Lagos Nigeria and aired across West Africa. The show features contestants from Ghana, Liberia, Sierra Leone and Nigeria. Auditions are conducted in these four West African countries to select a total of 24 contestants who then advance to the next stage and converge in Lagos, where the judges will weed off 6 contestants, leaving 18 to advance to the semi finals. From these 18, only 15 will advance to the Academy where they will be drilled and trained in the art of music for weeks.
The show runs for a total of 10 weeks, during which one contestant will be evicted every week for the duration of the show. One winner will emerge and win the star prize, while first and second runners up go home with consolation prizes.

My review of the performances:
Winner:
1st - The song is comfortably in her league. It was a graceful performance.
2nd - It is not exactly a singing song and more about attitude and delivery. She tried but she couldn't project some of the swag that comes with the song due to the ethnic difference. Winner has really grown from that singer that could only do soulful hits to swinging through naija beats.
Pere:
1st - Very emotional performance. I got teary. His mum must have been so proud. I love me a man that loves his mother. He just breezed through it like he was made for that moment. And he moved so nicely. Excellente.
2nd - At first, many thought he was limited to RnB but he has proved it twice that his voice texture is amendable to other genres even reggae. His voice was so clear, rich and pure. Nostalgic memories. Pere is one singer quite cool on the outside but he can touch the hearts of people through his soulful voice.
Okiemute:
1st - Because she has actually performed songs of this same style twice before, this particular performance didn't really bring any new flavours. At a point, she was 'shouty'. However, she was in sync with all the theatrics and stage craft that has set her apart this season as the most consistent performer and singer in the competition.
2nd - Electrifying. Terrific. Superb. Smooth. I can go on and on. That's the best cover performance I have seen of that song. Even though she was doing so much, she didn't get carried away. Very controlled breathtaking performance.
Elizabeth:
1st - It was too crowded - from the instrumentals to the stage craft. There was so much going on that it took away from the central figure which should be Lizzy. Her entry was kinda weak and the back up too loud. It seems the sound mix had an issue because the lead mic was sounding fainter than the back up at some point. She tried but it could have been better. However, Kidjo is a strong singer with a unique texture so it's understandable that she could not give it hard like the original.
2nd - Wow! Lyrics l'enu Lizzy! This girl should seriously consider doing songs like this for a career. Her attitude was so on point. The Fuji bridge so authentic. She literally brought down the house.
Dapo:
1st - It was a believable performance. He was in character from start to finish.
2nd - Hmmm Remedies! Brought back nostalgic memories. He had serious breath control issues - his panting was very audible. His words were not coming out clearly esp in the first verse. Even with the few issues, it was still a good performance.
Kitay:
1st: I loved his entry. He was in the spirit of the song and doing his thing,controlling the whole studio like it was his parlour. However, when he got to almost the end and was ad libing, it lost the Yoruba Afrobeat flavour and it started sounding very urhobo-ish highlife. Yes, he can make the song his own but there are certain unique elements to some songs that shouldn't be done away with.
2nd: Just the kind of song you can expect his kind of personality to fly through. It was like watching a movie. Playful. Entertaining. Yet he didn't forget to sing and even play around with some notes. Superb.

Let not even begin to talk about the timing. Its like she is seeing herself perform and directing herself to know the exact moment to move, stop, smile, engage the audience. Incredible stuff!
I like the fact that Okiemute gave kudos to the unsung heroes; backup singers and dancers,Yes! they are not doing voluntary work, however, it is one hectic job and they try their very best. Welldone to Okiemute.

hmmmm... well so far so good. All dese guys av really made it, dey all are now singing professional, I love Kitays performance Lagbaja he really nail it, coz i av been waiting for wat could make me chose him over Pere, but he has really gotten my attention for his job tonight singing Lagbaja, Okiemute is such a great singer that could feet in any role as a musician, Winner is talented with great golden heavenly voice and its obvious Winner is the only contender that can compete with Okiemute, Elizabeth on d other hand is great and as a Celestial church member i would have given my vote for her but i cant be biased she really hasn't impress me so far she still has some works to do personally on her voice, Dapo is such an optimistic singer and a guy that knows what people want, i wont be surprise if this guy blows quickly just after the competition. Super six ko! Super glue ni!! PF7 so raised the bar that following seasons are finding it hard to beat. I think I love Ruky's rendition of that song more. nevertheless the less, it was a great show.
