-- @danielulz1640. I don't believe this is correct. To the best of my knowledge, factory body color plus hubcaps was one of the options and for a base model car, that's probably what you got by default. If I'm not mistaken, you could also get rims that were black or white with hubcaps as well as Magnum 500 rims from the factory if you chose that option and paid extra for them. Speaking of hubcaps, there we're a number of those available to choose from if you had a preference but depending on the trim package, there was a default hubcap installed. - Max Giganteum PS My vote also goes to the factory stamped steel rims in black with a smaller diameter dog dish hubcap. Anyone feel the correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't believe those 2 hubcaps belong with that car. I could swear they come off of a Ford truck.
Those are the correct caps for that car. Color matched steel wheels with hub caps and trim rings were part of the Spring Special package. There were only about three colors available with the package. @@MaxGiganteum
Yeah, the hubcaps with the stock rims would look really good if they kept it nice and level in stock. However, if she decides to put air shocks on it and put a little up in the back, then I think the hurricanes the last choice would look really good.
I’ve said it before. Thank you guys for digging these cars out of their graves and putting them back on the road. Although we didn’t get a good look at the underside. I really hope you guys save it. One of 1500? Definitely needs a restoration. Good luck and God bless. Thanks guys! Happy 2025!
When I first saw that car buried in the trees and vines, I thought NO WAY that would ever move! But you guys really worked at it and there it is in your garage! GREAT JOB!
Christina, that was a possum. That Batman Pez dispenser to fetch a handsome price. The collectors are out there. We used those needle guns in the Navy, for removing paint. And external ship paint is pretty tough stuff! And you're correct, Richard, on how to use it. The external Navy paint, being so thick and tough, you actually had to lean into it, be the gun straight up or clocked, as we wanted to actually get to bare steel. It's like a combination of a scaler and an air chisel kinda thing, with the several needles or tips.
Years ago, some hot rod type magazine had an article using a needle gun on an engine block to give it a "different" "textured" surface. Looked like crap. I know a guy that started doing it to a big block just HAD to show me how cool it was!
Very cool car. Bring back memories. I had a 1971 Ford terminal. I bought it use from the Ford dealer in 1974 like a fool. I traded it in for a Ford Pinto station wagon. That Torino I had was so cool. It was only A302V8. It was a 2 door. So good luck with your project. Those cars are very rare.
Cristina when you said no one would be out helping you dig that Torino out my wife told me that I’d have helped you get the car out and she would be right. I love the passion for the older cars.
Torino is surprisingly strong and solid for the conditions it was laid on ground for past decades. Rare and restorable. Complete on interiors and exterior. A bit rough inside but it is all doable. Getting it out was real adventure. By the end of rescuing it you looked quite exhausted. But it worth 100%!
never would I have thought what you dug out from that pit would like that. Persistence and belief paid off, what a find! will be watching the progress on this with interest. From a 71 Mach 1 owner.
This is really cool car and I hope to see you guys go all the way fix the rest properly write down the paint and I believe Christina will enjoy driving this
Wheel choice would be black steelies with poverty caps, understated and classic. Needle scaler tool is great, used in many times to remove scaling rust.
Too bad Scott Newstead at ColdWar Motors in Alberta, Canada is so far away, he's a mean as hell body shop man. He can work those quarter panels in his sleep!
I'm excited about this Torino ask Torino's are one of my favorite the Thunderbird the red y'all done is this the same junkyard that one's still on my mind
I've had 2 71 Torinos, both 302 one 3 on the tree, one auto, both green 2 drs. This brings back memories. Excited for you Christine, by the way my mother's name is Christine. Hope yal get it back on the road.
great find richard and christina those cleavelands are a hard one to find i'd keep a hold of that torino i think it's worth fixing up especially with that 351 in it
Such a awsome car . My parents purchased on brand new off the showroom floor . My father talked about it all the time it was evan the same color. You have a solid build there caint wait to see the next video.
Very nice car worth saving! 270hp-not too shabby, considering things really fell off with performance in ‘72. I look forward to the progress made in the future. Thanks for posting this.👍
My buddies dad growing up had a green 429 ram air 71 gt torino that ended up getting driven into a swamp and I've always wondered where it ever ended up?! What a car! Geez... awesome find, guys! ✌️from Ohio
We used a scaler at work for getting old paint and rust off a bridge railing. Oh boy, my hands were tingling for days. Never felt a desire to use one since.
I remember the Torino 500 when I was younger. I hope y’all do bring it back, but good luck finding donor parts. I would love to see this one back on the road.
i congratulate both of you for your extremly hard work getting that torino dug out, you both work so well together and seem to love your work, now f0or my wheel choice, i like the stock wheel and hub cap
Cleveland? Will it run? I hope so! With the craziest cam/head work/intake combo you can think of, they run their socks off! They're just short of Unlimited Top End, where you run out of road before you're W I D E O P E N !
I would love to be there helping but my 60 yr old body has other ideas besides the fact I don't like cold weather at all I'm a native Floridian 😅 but I can sit and enjoy your video thanks for sharing your adventures
Can't wait to see the Torino running and driving MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL ❤LOVE JIM J&R MOBIL SERVICE AND GODBLESS Y'ALL AND YOUR CRITTERS
My dad had a dark green 71 Torino 500. Seeing that car reminded me of him, and brought a tear to my eye. I love it and wish I had the money to buy it, if Christina would sell it, lol. Happy New Year and God bless.
The hurricane wheels definitely. I had a set on my 1968 Datsun 510 until I accidentally busted one on a curb due to bad weather and going a little too fast in a turn. My fault.
Can't say that the Torino is my favorite body style, but that old girl is in good enough condition to save. That poor Cleveland is going to need a refresh.
I'm torn on the wheels but the factory rims with hubcaps looks pretty good. Your determination with limited tools to get that car out was impressive. I hope to see this driving down the road.
I would love to see this one resurrected for sure. My first car was it's younger brother, a 73 gran torino sport. You just don't see many of them, and my grandfather, who collected cars, told me I should let him put it in storage for me when I was selling it, but I didn't take his advice.
That Torino 500 maybe valuable to a collector, providing it has the right options and is not in too bad of condition! The fastback version is the most sought-after edition.
I’ve seen people use the roll-on bedliner on the vinyl tops and when it dries, it looks like the original vinyl top . first fill the holes with Bondo and then put the bedliner over top .
I'd like to hear the old ford torino run again for the first time in years I love the car and like the body style I use to own a 1971 2 door torino back in the 1980s
I respect your channel because you actually find cars in these type environments. These other channels be staged and they'll put fresh weeds, Bush and think we're to dumb to see it
That 351 Cleveland is worth rebuilding. The hurricane wheel is the better looking of all the wheels . Can't wait to see the car back on the road.
I personally like the factory black with the caps. Looks like a moonshine runner! 😂
Originally, the wheels were color matched to the car and it had trim rings too.
I hope they go with that. Really looks good on that car.

Richard you and Christina amaze me with bringing these old vehicles back to life. Thank You.
Love this car as a kid back in the 80s my next door neighbor had on of this torino cars I never forget this car.
For the rear bumper thare are people that still remanumacture bumpers including the chrome.
Or a junk yard.
This car is a juel if restore maroon a beautiful color 😍.
Or brown
Or the same bumper can be restored.
Cristina, you have an amazing taste on cars.. wow, what a gem!! Hade an old Torino back in the 80s.. Ford guy here..
I’ve said it before. Thank you guys for digging these cars out of their graves and putting them back on the road. Although we didn’t get a good look at the underside. I really hope you guys save it. One of 1500? Definitely needs a restoration. Good luck and God bless. Thanks guys! Happy 2025!
The hurricane is my choice! So far, what a good find!
Use the Hurricane mags but polish and paint the webs gold to complement the brown .......Awesome channel ❤ the Torino what a great find 😊
I love that idea of painting the webs gold. That would look good! Thanks for the tip!
@@whattherustwith the ribs polished like the olds 71-77 vettes
When I first saw that car buried in the trees and vines, I thought NO WAY that would ever move! But you guys really worked at it and there it is in your garage! GREAT JOB!

I looked it up I seen the black one for 150.00 and the blue one with wings for 245.00
Years ago, some hot rod type magazine had an article using a needle gun on an engine block to give it a "different" "textured" surface. Looked like crap. I know a guy that started doing it to a big block just HAD to show me how cool it was!
You guys. I love this. In 1971 I drove a Ford Torino for a couple hundred miles. That was a great day 😅 you will enjoy this 😮😅
The Torino is a great looking well styled car! Christina has good taste in classic cars! That will be an awesome car to fix up and drive!
I had a 71 GT and a 72 Gran Torino Sport. The 71 was a beast.
Definitely the rocket mags with pointed centers. A Torino has always been a sporty vehicle and the first choice is the sporty choice.
Alright nice score Christina that would make a really nice car looking forward to part 2 great video guys thanks
My vote is for the slotted mags! I knew a guy with a green 71 Torino with a 429 cu in. motor and he had slotted mags on his car. It looked so good
Cristina when you said no one would be out helping you dig that Torino out my wife told me that I’d have helped you get the car out and she would be right. I love the passion for the older cars.
Right on Todd!

Thanks Alex. It was definitely worth it.
Thanks Richard and Christina for braving the cold to make content so excited to see what happens with this gem
Awesome car had a 70 GT I think black steely wheels with baby moons would be sweet looking forward to see more on this car
Awesome job guys the last wheel looks amazing
Nice! And factory air too. Very good eye there Christina. Glad you spotted this awesome classic.
Those original dog dishes are awesome.
I agree! We are hoping to find the other two so we can get a complete set.
Go with the hurricane wheels, and solid white letter tires to go with it.
You are a beautiful gift to us and each other. Great editing
Thank you very much. Your comment made our day.
❤️❤️❤️
The Torinos had a very good looking body I like them almost as much as the Cougars
Yep, same here - especially the ‘70 - ‘71 Torino / Fairlane
Great car and teamwork, can't wait to the next installment, think THE Hurricanes look the coolest , thanks for sharing your adventures 👍💨💨
I don't blame you girl I like the Torino too
Beautiful car 🎉. Can't wait to see it running ❤. Going to Town car. Have Fun 😊.
Neat car and great job!
Thanks!
Thank you for the amazing support. Terry!
It also came with poverty hub caps. You maybe found a hidden gem.😊
Good to see you 2 again
Summit racing here you come!!! With a nice rebuild and some mild go fast parts that 351 will sing!!! This car is definitely worth rebuilding!
Right on!
Exactly I've seen some screamer built Cleveland mustang 71-73 cars that were nasty hit rods so yeah definitely build it
never would I have thought what you dug out from that pit would like that. Persistence and belief paid off, what a find! will be watching the progress on this with interest. From a 71 Mach 1 owner.
Mr. B. Here ! 🍩☕️👀😎👍 : Well ! I see you guys are off to the most tuff job ! This is going to be something ? Good luck guys 🍩☕️👀😎👍

Rocket mags! Looking forward to the first drive! Good luck, your gonna need it! 😂 Thanks you two, for another great video!
3 with some beauty rings added.
Wheel choice would be black steelies with poverty caps, understated and classic. Needle scaler tool is great, used in many times to remove scaling rust.

Love these old Torino's !!
The dog dish look the best !
With trim rings, like originally.
You guys are getting better. Good job.
Can't wait for the next video.
Awesome car...my pick would be steelies with the dog dishes...hurricanes if you go with aluminum/mags
Those cars are very rare now
I've had 2 71 Torinos, both 302 one 3 on the tree, one auto, both green 2 drs. This brings back memories. Excited for you Christine, by the way my mother's name is Christine. Hope yal get it back on the road.
Cool Torino!👍🍻
What a nice ride! Looking forward to this series
Great videos
The things Richard does for the lady he loves.
What a great find. For wheels. I'd do either the hurricanes, or those dog bowls. Either way I'm excited to see this car coming back to life. 😊❤
It came from the factory with color matched wheels, those hub caps and trim rings. 👌
@danielulz1640 Damn, that sounds like an amazing combination. I'd love to see it on the car.
I like the black wheel with the hubcap that is cool
great find richard and christina those cleavelands are a hard one to find i'd keep a hold of that torino i think it's worth fixing up especially with that 351 in it

Nice find Christina and Richard. We had a Ford El Torino station wagon. When I was little. Sure do miss that car
I would love to be there helping but my 60 yr old body has other ideas besides the fact I don't like cold weather at all I'm a native Floridian 😅 but I can sit and enjoy your video thanks for sharing your adventures
The original Ford hubcaps bring back the best memories of that car for me.😊
Had a 71 Torino Cobra. 351 Cleveland, auto trans, painted wheels with center caps. Stripped version, no ac, bench seat and damn quick.
