Just done my XC90-V8...... Not as difficult as I anticipated.
I found removing the headlamps helped to see things more clearly...
(And are they not so fantastically easy to remove?..... Brilliant design there.)
Being a non-turbo, there was no intercooler to contend with. Piece of cake. Thanks.
+Patagualian Mostly Thanks for checking us out!
Did you do it on a lift? Or go from the top?
Great video, but from personal experience with this task. It's much easier going from the top, especially without a lift.
My 2cent
Great camera work - I know how tight this area is. Good job!
Great video - thanks!
Does oil need to be put in to replace the oil the drained out when the coolant lines were removed from the radiator? This step was done at ~10:10 mins into the video.
"It's easy, if I can do it, you can do it to!"
*puts it on a lift*
I did a replacement on my 2001 V70 T5 and it was very challenging.. a total of 6 hours. i have a Quick Jack and it wasnt enough room to come out on the bottom. I had to take out it out from top.
Would it be possible to drop out the rad + fan as one unit, instead of taking them apart and dropping out the fan first? Thought taking them out as a combined unit would be easier?
There is another video where the tech drops the fan, rad and inter-cooler as on unit. Looks slightly easier.
It might to much to do without a lift man is it doable jacked up without ba lift ?
I actually did this job on the ground and it is possible lol
Verhicle you say it a few times like that too I thought it's vehicle??? Oh yeah taking the fan out first from the top side is the easiest way to do it done mess with going down below that's looking for trouble. 2 10 millimeter bolts a few wire ties and an electrical connection and the fan can be out in under 5 minutes without fighting with it.
Hi I see you’ve done a lot to the Audi A4 b7 but I can’t find a video of the turbo have you done a video on this ?
+Masked Gamer 101 We're always cycling through cars filming hundreds of common repairs for common vehicles every month. We'll add this to our list of repairs to film. Check back again and hopefully we'll have it soon.
Perfect. Thanks.
You’re a great guy, but this is how vehicles get more damaged...it’s not supposed to be removed from the bottom, the fan is to be removed FIRST
Awesome video!!
I wrecked mine I gotta replace the bumber the frame dust plate and radiator
One. Cuestión Sir. I brock the locks of the lines the green ones. And i cant find them, do you know were. Can i find them?
This looks more complicated than it needs to be. I replaced the ac condenser in a 2004 XC90 and the radiator has overlapping bolts with the condenser ,why are you removing all this extra stuff.
Excellent video...thank you so much!!!!
What state are you located in?
This looks like a 2.5 liter engine rather than the twin turbo 2.9 liter.

After watching the video I was wondering, if I removed the fan first, when I go to put the radiator back in, could the fan be attached to the hooks on the radiator prior so both the fan and radiator would be reinstalled as one unit? My other thought would be to remove that top metal plate just to give me more space to work in. Would I create any additional problems by removing that metal plate on top? Thank you in advance to anyone that is knowledgable about this.
P.S. my son's 2012 XC90 R Design (non turbo) looks as though it has a little more space to work in and I'm uncertain if there are any other issues with that particular model?
Thank you again.
Sincerely,
Charles Abbott

This guy is a safety officer not a mechanic…..
This video would've been a 100x better if you started from the top then worked your way to the bottom instead of going everywhere.
+daniel knight Thanks for the feedback!
Not easy
I’m really afraid of not being able to put it back together
Make notes, take pictures, write a caption on each individual part then just put all back together going backwards. You can do it.
How did it go Henry? Going to do this Sunday any tips?
Doesn't seem so. Easy peasy
