      I don’t know it’s it even possible to prove the Bible as a whole wrong, but there’s plenty of verses within the Bible that HAVE been proven wrong by modern science;
      - Mustard seed being smallest
      -Plants coming before the sun
      - Age of the earth
      - how long humans have been on earth
      - bats being birds
      - story of global flood debunked by geologic column, etc
And that’s just what I could think of off the top of my head, I’m sure there’s dozens more. The Quran actually got more right than the Bible and it’s got tons of nonsense as well.

Erosion, volcanic activity, wind, and organisms dying/changing the environment are all valid ways these layers are formed, we also can tell how these layers are formed from the molecules and minerals of the layers and along with the structure of the layers, fine particles=volcanic, lots of calcium carbonate= deceased microorganisms, etc. I learned this day one in my prehistoric ecosystems class.

In Monty Python’s movie “The Life of Brian”, there is a group of Jews discussing politics, and one asks “What have the Romans ever done for us?”…
REG: They've bled us white, the bastards. They've taken everything we had, and not just from us, from our fathers, and from our fathers' fathers.
LORETTA: And from our fathers' fathers' fathers.
    REG: Yeah.
LORETTA: And from our fathers' fathers' fathers' fathers.
REG: Yeah. All right, Stan. Don't labour the point. And what have they ever given us in return?!
    XERXES: The aqueduct?
    REG: What?
    XERXES: The aqueduct.
REG: Oh. Yeah, yeah. They did give us that. Uh, that's true. Yeah.
    COMMANDO #3: And the sanitation.
LORETTA: Oh, yeah, the sanitation, Reg. Remember what the city used to be like?
REG: Yeah. All right. I'll grant you the aqueduct and the sanitation are two things that the Romans have done.
    MATTHIAS: And the roads.
REG: Well, yeah. Obviously the roads. I mean, the roads go without saying, don't they? But apart from the sanitation, the aqueduct, and the roads--
    COMMANDO: Irrigation.
    XERXES: Medicine.
    COMMANDOS: Huh? Heh? Huh...
    COMMANDO #2: Education.
    COMMANDOS: Ohh...
REG: Yeah, yeah. All right. Fair enough.
    COMMANDO #1: And the wine.
    COMMANDOS: Oh, yes. Yeah...
FRANCIS: Yeah. Yeah, that's something we'd really miss, Reg, if the Romans left. Huh.
    COMMANDO: Public baths.
LORETTA: And it's safe to walk in the streets at night now, Reg.
FRANCIS: Yeah, they certainly know how to keep order. Let's face it. They're the only ones who could in a place like this.
COMMANDOS: Hehh, heh. Heh heh heh heh heh heh heh.
REG: All right, but apart from the sanitation, the medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, a fresh water system, and public health, what have the Romans ever done for us?
    XERXES: Brought peace.
    REG: Oh. Peace? Shut up!
Caller: The bible contains no errors.
AXP: Are mustard seeds the smallest seed?
    Caller: No!
AXP: So the bible got it wrong?
Caller: The bible contains no errors it’s perfect!
AXP: You just agreed that mustard seeds aren’t the smallest seed, and yet you still think the bible contains no mistakes?

Also, in science we don’t disprove anything but provide evidence for or against a proposition. In the case of the book of Genesis, we have evidence that there wasn’t a world wide flood that resulted in only 8 people populating the Earth, 2 humans that started human kind weren’t made 6,000 years ago, and all life didn’t start 6,000 years ago. Lastly, as I’ve said, we don’t disprove things, but it’s also not anyone’s responsibility to prove the Bible wrong but for those making the claims, YOU Charles, to show that they are true. I don’t claim that the Bible isn’t true, I just don’t believe many parts of it are true. There’s a difference. Not believing is different than claiming something isn’t true.

Saying something is “100% infallible” is already a close-minded process because it leaves no room for learning or critical thinking.
If something is “perfect”, then there’s no room for development, which leads to stagnation.

Its the "mud problem", and worth a check out.

    • @jameswade2613
      @jameswade2613 4 месяца назад

Charles is'nt intelligent enough to realize he's being dishonest. He is indoctrinated, follows with blind obedience & what his church leaders tell him. if he starts to critical think about his religon, his religon tells him he's not allowed to do that. He needs faith instead. That's why he comes out dumb statements like the bible is inerrant., its God's word and other pathetically stupid statements.
Religon is the only area where you can come out with unchecked, outrageous claims & expect people to believe them as facts.

    • @BaronVonQuiply
      @BaronVonQuiply 4 месяца назад

For the religious, "Faith" is less about actually thinking something is true and more of how the word Faithful is used to mean Loyalty
They expect to one day be rewarded for "staying loyal" when the facts made it clear that that would be the wrong choice to make (facts don't matter when you believe they can be god-magicked away)

Charles is massively overestimating how many people care whether the bible is 100% correct or not.
Most people, theist or not, accept that it's full of glaring errors, contradictions and inconsistencies, but it doesn't affect their beliefs because they accept this is a collection of old often incomplete texts written be people, assembled by people, vetted by people, and people make mistakes.

The smallest seed in the world belongs to certain species of orchids. Specifically, the seeds of orchids in the genus Vanilla (which includes the vanilla plant) and Epidendrum are among the smallest, with some seeds being as tiny as 0.1 millimeters in length.
Fossil evidence suggests that orchids have existed for at least 80 million years. However, molecular studies, which analyze genetic data to estimate the age of different plant families, suggest that orchids might have originated as far back as 120 million years ago during the late Cretaceous period.

Anytime people like him talk about stuff like this I just want people to think about something. Let's go back a couple thousand years. Let's say that we got absolutely everything we know from the bible. No one became a scientist no one became a geologist but instead we got 100% of our information from the bible. Where would we be as a society right now? What would we know? We wouldn't have the vast majority of medicine out there we wouldn't have vaccines for polio, we wouldn't have the technology we have today, we wouldn't know probably 98% of the shit that we do about the Earth or the universe or the oceans or anything. We would be completely wrong about so much shit. If we just got our information from the Bible that is supposedly from a god, we would not only not know Jack schitt compared to what we do now, but the things we did know we would be wrong about many of them. If the Bible was truly the word of God and a book we really needed, we should know everything that we do today, just by reading the bible. And yetnot only is that not the case, but there are things that we know today that are contradicted by the bible. The Bible is constantly getting in the way of progress. Look how many people deny evolution despite mountains of evidence. If evolution didn't go against the biblical story, I guarantee you 99% of the people that do not believe in it now, would absolutely believe in it because we have more than enough evidence to support belief. The only reason people say that they don't believe it is because it contradicts the bible. And that is terrifying. People believe in gravity for the most part, but I guarantee you if the Bible went against gravity, millions of people would be sitting here denying that too. I've had numerous Christians and other religious people say that even if science concluded something was almost certainly wrong in the bible, they would automatically assume that science fucked up and the Bible is actually right. And that is not only pathetic but it's terrifying. You are starting with the assumption that the Bible is correct and everything that doesn't fit with the bible, automatically has to be wrong and that's just not the case. And it's so obvious that that's not the case that you have to put yourself into a place of delusion to believe like that. It's really sad and it is one of the demonstrable harms of biblical beliefs or God beliefs

The Pleiades, also known as the Seven Sisters, is an open star cluster that will eventually disperse. The cluster is about 115 million years old and is slowly moving towards the Orion constellation. Over hundreds of millions of years, the cluster will slowly lose stars, some of which will die and others will drift away. Calculations suggest that the cluster will take about 250 million years to disperse due to gravitational interactions with giant molecular clouds and the spiral arms of our galaxy.
