    A really good overview of what Notes can do. Many features that most people probably didn’t know about. I tried adding some features as you mentioned them but I found that swiping down from the right always opens notifications and the Home Screen not the control centre so accessing Notes from there doesn’t work.

    Content- excellent
    Structure & presentation - excellent

      It’s so much more powerful than people realise but it does take time to learn everything it can do. Once you practice and get used to it, you can use it for so many things to help you organize your life. 👍

    Is there a quick way to move between notes? Is there a way to swipe to next or last note?

    • @NickDZ
      @NickDZ  Месяц назад +1

      Not specifically but if you regularly switch between specific note you could create note links in each which would give you a quick link to jump between them.
      If using on an iPad when multitasking you could also open more than one Note at a time and then switch between them as separate apps.
      On a Mac you can open notes in new windows to work on more than one at a time.

      I’m now on 18.2 RC on my iPhone and iPad. I just checked and quick note is an option to add in the control centre for me on both devices. Very odd if you’re not seeing that control.

    Cannot re-order folders in Apple NOTES app across all three devices on the same iCloud account.

    MacBook Pro (intel, macOS Sequoia 15.2)

      Very odd. I assume it’s the same on iCloud via a browser as well? I’ve not seen this before so maybe something to ask Apple for support in case it’s a bug.

    My notepad document reformats when saved as pdf or printed. How do i get it to print exactly as it looks on my ipad?

    • @NickDZ
      @NickDZ  Месяц назад

      What method are you using to saved a Note as a PDF?
      This is how Apple say to do it, I tried this and got an exact copy of my note:
      - in the note, tap on the share sheet Icon.
      - select Markup.
      - From the markup screen, tap Done, then choose Save File To.. and save the file to a location.
      You should then be able to open the saved PDF.
      Note from a note I choose share sheet and then ‘Convert to PDF with Acrobat’ this doesn’t work and it results in unreadable characters in the output.

    Thanks so much for the amazing tips!!
    I hope Apple changes the placement of the *Format Toolbar* of the *Notes* layout in iPad, and keep it like where it was in the past. So, instead of the *Format* being at the top of the *Notes* layout, it will be at the left side of the keyboard in iPad!
    I don't understand why Apple placed the *Format Toolbar* at the top! It's a terrible layout design for the iPad. Whenever I want to format any of the text in the notes, the Keyboard covers half of the screen AND the *Format Toolbar* pop-up window covers the rest of the text at the top too! I have no idea how my editing or formatting of the note's text looks like since BOTH the keyboard and the *Format Toolbar* pop-up window covers the whole text.
    In the past, at least the *Format Toolbar* was in the left side of the Keyboard; The pop-up window only covered the list of notes on the left side, and not the whole Note's text you're editing on the right side, and it was very convenient.
    At least let Apple make the keyboard disappear so we can see the whole text and how it looks like when we choose the correct format, like how it does in iPhone.

    6:42 - you can’t “literally draw anything on your notes” oh if only it was this way. I’d love to be able to draw/write with pencil ANYWHERE on my notes, typed tex5, as you might make handwritten notes on printed typed notes. Instead, Apple Notes creates a breakpoint for new sketch/pencil markings/scribble. And only one of these break points per note is possible.

    • @NickDZ
      @NickDZ  2 месяца назад

      That’s a good observation. I may plan to feature more in depth reviews of specific tools such as drawing to highlight any positives and negatives!

      @ I still use Apple Notes (& pencil) extensively, iPad mini with pencil, iPad Pro 11” with keyboard, for both work meetings and personal/home notes. Both devices are my own personal devices but I choose to use for my work meetings - less intrusive/barrier than a laptop. I just wish Apple would update the functionality of Notes to allow pencil input to be properly anywhere on a page. Notes has been updated constantly over the years, albeit in very small increments, but this, or at least allowing for more than one break section per note, would really increase its functionality

    They need to make tables way better. More styling options, easier to use, resizable columns. It’s far too basic.

    • @NickDZ

      100% agree. It’s nice we have tables but they are incredibly limited at the moment.

    The scanned files are huge though

    • @NickDZ
      @NickDZ  2 месяца назад

      I’ve noticed this too. A workaround to scan documents that seems to have lower file sizes is to scan documents directly from the Files App instead. Perhaps Apple will address this in a future update!

    I do not use Notes for one simple reason. It does not have visibility on Apple Watch. Most common usage I have on the Bear app is for shopping. Unlike all the other shoppers who are staring at their phone, I have two hands free. It's really a big whiff by Apple not having Notes on Apple Watch.

    • @NickDZ
      @NickDZ  Месяц назад

      I’m with you on that! Even the basic ability to check off lists and view notes would be super useful! I’ve just started using Reminders for my shopping list, so I wonder if that’s something useful instead?

    • @NickDZ
      @NickDZ  2 месяца назад +7

      Quite true. I consume on RUclips but only specific content that is informative, educational and that helps me develop my skills. So I think it also depends on the type of content you choose to watch. 🙂

    • @LeeTownsend-rx6sm
      @LeeTownsend-rx6sm 23 дня назад

      I disagree with @aijokker. When I’m learning from my RUclips video, I can repeat exactly what I see. As someone with ADHD and dyslexia, reading is extremely difficult. So, keep your wonderful RUclips videos coming. if I need to see something again, I just back up and watch the section again. That is how I am learning about the new Apple ecosystem. Besides Nick, there are some wonderful other RUclips authors I watch daily. FYI - I taught physics and math at a university for 25 years so am aware of different learning styles.
