I could listen to this kind of music all over and over. I love it. And they're all so good. Kenny of course is , well the tops. And when the keyboard player comes out wow, it's like "lighting bolts". Like where have I been 6 years. Well, in a ol folks home and haven't had access to the internet for 8 or 9 yrs.
Kenny Vaughan is such a fine player. I remember it was some years ago when I happened to see him perform on Austin City Limits with Patty Loveless. He was a lot younger then and played a strat. I had never seen him before but my heart told me that this was no ordinary guitar player. You can learn so much about the guitar just watching him play.
Just discovered Kenny Vaughan totally by chance, literally a day ago. Was flipping through the channels, caught an end of Hal Ketchum's 'Past the Point of Rescue', never heard it before (maybe 'cause I'm not a big traditional country music fan...). That last 90 seconds of the performance included the riff/solo (hope those are the right terms) by Kenny Vaughan. I was blown away ❗Wow❗Kept rewinding to listen to it for entire hour. And then spent an entire day trying to figure out who that incredible guitarist was. It wasn't easy, but after spending literally hours pursuing all kinds of dead, stupid, non-productive links, I finally found him! So excited 😆 Now I am sending links of his music to all my family and friends music lovers. 🎉 I'm sooo happy I found Kenny Vaughan, what an incredible talent, what an awesome musician, I am a fan for life 👍 😻 🎶
It's been 9 months since your comment and I hope you have discovered, not only Kenny, but Marty Stuart and his Fabulous Superlatives (which he is a member of). Start with the, Way Out West album, and then go from there. I also highly recommend that you see them live if you get the chance, as they are simply the best band on the face of the earth right now.
Cousin Kenny Nails it again playing for the song ,great job ,great musicians. You did a great job with the Byrds when I saw you in Kansas City for the sweethearts of the rodeo.
Saw Kenny do this tune on a Gibson 125 I believe it was. This Tele version is so much more conductive to the song IMHO. Kenny is such a wonderful guitarist. So glad I became aware of him.
just love Kenny's playing the first time I saw he was a little guy with a big cowboy hat standing next to Marty Stuart I thought who is this guy the real deal I'd gladly travel to see him play
I felt Jeff Beck through out that whole instrumental but it was still Kenny! Kenny is one of the smoothest riff artists and a song like this you have to be smooth, very enjoyable!
eljefeguapobarbon touch is one of those things not often talked about. This cut is dripping with a velvety touch that only the best seem to be able to conjure up at will...
whether playin with the superlatives ,patty loveless, lucinda willams, or on his own kennys the consumet guitar master, Gibsons, strats ,teles, it doesn't matter he can pull the best tones out of all of them, And his lines and fills are so sweet it hurts, They don't much better than Kenny , such a pro...

This guitar is more than likely not a “Fender Telecaster”. There is no decal on the headstock. It’s either a partscaster or a custom built boutique built especially for him. Lord knows he has access to just about any guitar he wants. Could be a Jeff Senn, Glaser, Danocaster, etc. Lots of T style builders out there. Long story short... for me it doesn’t matter. Sounded good to Kenny and I agree.
Shows you can create a beautiful song without having to play like Malmsteen. I'd rather listen to Kenny anyway, especially with the Fabulous Superlatives!
Malmsteem is great for what he does!! I would prefer to play with taste and soul but not everyone is tasteful or soulful!! There are plenty of great people who are in fact great players who lack taste and soul !! Malmsteen being one of them!!!
This version puts the Studio Version to shame. Not sure why on his Studio version there was no Keyboard Solo like this live one. But either way Kenny is The Man and Awesome Guitarist and Versatile..
Thats actually J.T Cure on bass here. Hes also the bass player for Chris Stapleton. Chris scruggs is the current bass player for Marty Stuart's Fabulous Superlatives.
It feels like Kenny never plays a wrong note. Unique and traditional at the same time. Living, breathing music. He’s amazing. Great band too.
When you Play this good, not a word is needed, Creamy Sweet Goodness wrapped around a Telecaster like Few could Play Her
I could just loop this and listen for a week
Beautiful. I love everything about Kenny Vaughan's playing.
Charles Treadway's solo was absolutely gorgeous.
Absolutely love the vibe of this tune. Bond meets old west meets psychedelic blues rock.
This tune has everything I love.
Guy is great.
World Class ! Kenny underrated under the radar Vaughan is a master tone master .
Kenny V. GREAT TALENT!!!!!!!
Tone, taste, blazing speed when called for; Kenny's really got it all. His album V is among my favorites.
Kenny is such an amazing and versatile player…He can turn his hand to any style and always sounds great. He’s right up there with the best I’m sure..
Absolutely beautiful! Kenny Vaughn is my idol!
Love Kenny Vaughan's playing.

The space between the notes...
Tremendous restraint....
Each part contributes to the whole.

FROM NOW ON...ONE OF MY FAVORITE TUNES !!!!!!
WOW !!!!!!!
Nothing but quality and great musicianship from Kenny and all who he plays with - keep it up as all luv it and appreciate it!
Kenny's the man hands down...............................
Fantastic!

I just learned this song. So cool. Thanks Kenny and band. And what an organ solo. Chris is so Cool too
Kenny's got it all. Fabulous guitarist
Well, he is a "fabulous Superlative" after all😀!
Cousin Kenny is a great player.
Kenny you are a fantastic guitar player and great singer as well !!! Keep rocking man !!!!
Love this! Reminds me of a 60’s Fellini film with the credits running.
Cousin Kenny Nails it again playing for the song ,great job ,great musicians. You did a great job with the Byrds when I saw you in Kansas City for the sweethearts of the rodeo.
C1 for the win!!!

This version is the best IMO--keyboard really adds another dimension!
A 1 Kenny, amazing song !

Perfection!
One word... "Slickness..."
Very beautiful!............
agreed
Tone is great!
Sweet.. I dig that Kenny
Great!
Just the right number of notes.
Excellent

paul levine , I had to look it up ,consummate.

Beautiful, tasty. Unusual chord arrangement instrumental.
strat neck pickups in teles are magic to start with, but add Kenny and well...
Bam! that's the secret for me, he and Marty use Strat neck pickups on their Teles and they sound terrific..
Amen Floyd!
That good huh? I'll be looking into that! Thanks...
The Strat neck pickup in his Tele idea came from Roy Buchanan, as well as Parsons/White String/B Bender Tele.

Here Kenny' is comping himself with short chord fills, and it does sound much better than the record. 👍
Great
Kenny...amazing technique and tone. And the bass player, Charles Scruggs, is just great too. Bonus points: He's the grandson of Earl Scruggs
Mister Gee , some heritage!
Thats actually J.T Cure on bass here. Hes also the bass player for Chris Stapleton. Chris scruggs is the current bass player for Marty Stuart's Fabulous Superlatives.
Tasty
Organist good!
Doesn't hurt to have his bandmate on bass guitar.

Very cool... what's not to like?
Can always tell a Tele.
I LOVE THIS . WHERE CAN I GET MORE OF IT KENNY?
He has an album out titled "V", but may be difficult to find.
Hearing this , I keep imagining James Bond with some pretty lady on the French Rivera!!! LOL
Visually, the first thing I noticed was a Strat neck pickup. Personally, I prefer a telecaster…in his hands, it all works.
Does anybody know if Kenny uses a 4-way switch on this tele? In which case that switch position would be both pickups in series
Flat wounds??
Amp tone is fabulous here. Anybody what it is? Seems like blues deluxe or something?
Is it just me or does this song sound like a jazzed up version of the Are You Afraid Of The Dark theme song? Ha
He should play “Apache”.
He has done it. He played it with Marty Stuart and the Fabulous Superlatives. Check RUclips.
@@douglashalliday8235 hmmm…
Hey does anybody know whats going on with bass players bridge? What dos that wedge do? Decrease sustain? never seen that before.
Benjamin Larson softens the tone? The bass is very subdued.
+Benjamin Larson Felt damper
it's a classic old Motown technique to make the bass more smooth and less bright. it's just a piece of foam close to the bridge
Imperial Deluxe
That drummer & bass player are tighter than a banjo String!!!! LOL
Playing for Stapleton.
Did I spot Charles Scruggs playing bass? A superlative bit of foreshadowing...
Yes it's Scruggs on base.
His name is Chris
Obviously Kenny is the star here, but Charles Treadway's playing on organ is sublime...
Kenny has touch and tone, no need for pedals and effects.
No big whoop...............
