I visited Albania back in 2018 with two friends. Basically a roll of a dice brought us there. We ended up renting a car and just drove through the country the entire week. We had no idea of the countrys reputation at the time and it felt to us quite safe. We spent 24 in Tirana but I have to say the trip around the country was amazing. Albanias recent history has resulted in some crazy things like abandoned luxury buildings. Empty suburban areas where it looks like a zombie apocalypse. Overgrown luxury buildings. I had never seen anything like it. In Vlora they were investing heavily in tourism but it was like no people there. Absolutely insane to walk along a beach road that looked like Santa Monica but completely void of people. At one time we stopped at a big beautiful beach in the middle of the day. Sun was out and we were completely by ourselves except one family of three like 200 meters away. Also the prices are incredible. We went nuts and hired a limo an entire night in Tirana for like 200 euro and the hotel had it driven in from Macedonia or Kosovo just for us. Absolutely bizarre.
Dude that sounds like one hell of an adventure! I’d love to see more of Albania! Will definitely road trip when my camper is up and running! I love derelict places! The limo adventure sounds wild!!
Yeah but 6 years ago, every couple of years Albania is changing, savor those in your memory, those beaches like Sant Monica are filled with tourists now, even in the summer.
Mate, really enjoyed this video! Nice little peak at Tirana & awesome to reminisce on Our meeting! Looking forward to watching Your next Albania episode! Keep up the great work! 💪🏽❤️
hi nice to see what it looks like there, It says your in Budapest that's Hungary is it, Albania is waiting to enter the EU, looks well there, was strange to bump into people you know, small world really. Thanks for sharing and take care the van look's good btw.. cheer's 🍻🍺
maybe i should be more thorough haha! Albania was Very nice!! i know right?! small world indeed and yet, new connections & friendships were made! thanks for watching!
As I stated in a previous comment, this is based off of uk perception, yeah I’m sure alot of Europeans visit Albania especially in the summer but British people tend to go elsewhere :)
@@CiaranTravelsactually, Brits are going too, obviously not to the level of Spain/Greece. And you know why, because British media had a relentless negative campaign against Albanian people at no fault of their own, you are the Nazi to the jews, you found a scapegoat (Albanians) to your problems.
@@orges_x8652 If you actually watched and listened, from a British perspective. Barely anyone in Britain tends to goto Albania. Don’t see it as a negative thing, I think more Brits should be open minded and should visit countries such as Albania.

His mate. Albania 🇦🇱 its not dangerous at all unless you want to look for trouble otherwise no one will disturb you...we just have a bad reputation here in UK but trust me it's not dangerous. Especially British people are very welcome in Albania 🇦🇱 coz we have been treated very well in Britain 🇬🇧 👏
Hey bud! Yes agreed! My experience was nothing but incredible! Everyone was so friendly and welcoming! It’s true, there is a bad reputation in the UK, which is part of the reason as to why I went but experienced nothing but amazing vibes!
@CiaranTravels I guess summer time is more vibrant, especially if you go to South, you will enjoy turquoise waters of two seas ,Adriatic and ionian, also north sea side is beautiful too, and not to forget the Alps ,.if you fancy hiking.
@CiaranTravels Ah ,.that you will enjoy, are you convertin your van or something? I used to drive down there twice a year ,summer and Christmas, love that trip
10 million tourists visited Albania last year. In terms of visitors per capita, Albania (3M ppl) is already a European Powerhouse. So I don't get your thumbnail.
If you watched, I stated that in the uk there’s a whole perception, so it’s based around British people not visiting Albania, yeah ofcourse tourists visit Albania but British people as a generalisation don’t.
Saying no one visits Albania is unbeliavle if you are an Albanian you can see that there is full full of tourists. We Allbanians can see just from someone face if he is from Albania or another country and no its not safe let your kid go to the artificial lake at 9pm say your prayers
Ok, well if you read my comments and actually listen to what I say in the video, it’s from a BRITISH perspective. This video is based on Brits, who DONT visit Albania. Don’t see it as a negative thing, I’m merely encouraging fellow Brits to visit.
