You kind of got the idea and you are right about landing on the ball of your foot. But the extension of you leg in front? That is just bad running/sprinting mechanics
So I've been a sprinter since 6 years old but stopped when I was 12 to start golf. I'm now 17 years old getting back into track because I really like it but I do all these warmups perfectly but for some reason I'm still running heel to toe. I never ran heel to toe until I stopped running. I don't know what to do because I could be running way faster if I would cycle my legs better.

What do you think about running on toes?
Not good. More ball of the foot is the position of foot to aim for..
@@Performancelabofcalifornia but is it good for a good start?
@@raven2005_ yes.

Well really it’s the extension of the knee that creates large amounts of downward force..
How else would vertical force be created if knee extension wasn’t need?

Practice the foot strike while running and doing leg cycles. This allows you to isolate the issue in a singular isolated motion
@@Performancelabofcalifornia I'll work on that, thank you so much! My coaches have tried to help me but nothing seems to be working. Thank you!!❤️
Man my comment won't show up
