Good morning Kim, always great to see you on Sunday morning, I heard once, not to just look at what is in front of us with photography, but look up, down and behind. I also love clouds, and capturing a photo, one should realize, that photo, will never be seen or created again. It's amazing how a person can go out into nature and see it and feel it. I wish more would go out, rather than getting enjoyment from material things. Thanks Kim, have a safe and blessed upcoming week.
Hi Kim, clouds are very close to my heart and they always touch me with wonder. Sometimes they mirror the sand ripples near the shoreline saying to us that they are a part of the same capricious wonder which is the wonder of nature. So beautiful. The holographic colours you saw in the clouds were produced by the diffraction of the sun's light by small ice crystals that are suspended in the upper clouds; the air there is moist but also very cold, cold enough to form ice. It is a beautiful spectacle. A similar effect is seeing a diffracted image of the sun in the sky; it is a glow of light with lightly coloured halo. If you see one, have look on the other side of the sun because sometimes you will see another. The sky can be, and often is, mesmerising, Kim.
Wow, Paul! Thank you for sharing this. So fascinating to hear what they are and how they are formed. Appreciate it. The sky is such a wondrous and mind expansive thing ✨️
Isn't it just fantastic to be able to sit and watch the ever moving, changing clouds? Great days of cloud interest remain in my memory as much as any other subject.
So wonderful! I also tend to go out with my camera and enjoy the process of finding images. I never "plan" what I'm going to gather images of. Thanks so much for sharing a bit of the blessing that you have been given...
Hi Kim , your video brings back so much good memories for me . I used to run along the beach to my work and to Findhorn in the late 80s and watched some spectacular sunsets I left in 96 . I took up photography when I was there as well , being inspired to record what I was seeing . Watching the fishing boats leave the harbour in calm waters and come back with the days catch . I have been all over the World with my work.. I still hold that area as a very special place in my heart to .Thank que Kim for a beautiful reminder just how special it is X
This is so lovely to read, Harry. Thank you for sharing your fond memories of the area. It certainly is a beautiful part of the world and lovely that you were able to spend a period of your life here 😊🙏
Hi Kim, yes the weather has been different. In my part is Australia we have gone from winter and almost straight into Summer heat. The clouds were lovely and with the sound of the ocean made for a lovely way to end my Sunday
Hi first thanks for sharing...i live in Brazil on a mountain more than one mile high and strong winds paint the sky with strokes of clouds i love to photograf and as you get mesmerised by the ever changing capacity of Nature...
That was a wonderful film, a stunning place indeed. A few years ago we had a holiday at Buckie, it’s a fantastic location for photography, we had a truly fab time! 👏👍😀🦦
Kim, the clouds you were photographing are cirrocumulus or altocumulus depending on the altitude. Those looked quite high, so probably cirrocumulus. I live in South Dakota, USA and see them quite often, along with the iridescent clouds. Wonderful video !!!!!
Well this brought back some memories Kim. Good and bad times but interesting times nevertheless. That we cottage had a strange feel to it but then it was built on top of the biggest Pictish fort and settlement in the north east. Some nice pictures and so nice to see you back at the coast x
Watched a video recently on multiple exposure and composite images, your cloud images look like they could be used with this style, say as textures behind other images! Thoroughly enjoyed the video, I also grew up in a coastal town, albeit a holiday resort.😀
Hi Kim been watching your videos for about 2 years same time as I've got into photography i like landscape, but try bit of everything I thought it was about taking pictures of stuff, but it's alot more, light, lines, composition, etc And it's so funny your talking about clouds, I went out other night to trossachs to do light painting with drone above a loch, and moon was out so included it plus it had this giant misty aura around it with some wispy clouds, pitch black in middle of the woods at 5 in morning ha ha but so relaxing, stayed till sunrise too, But when I put them on pc I noticed that the clouds look like a giant angel in front of the moon, and on the wing of angel there's wat looks like baby's face, and two days previous my daughter had just had my grandchild Erin ha ha I'm not daft people can see wat they want to in clouds but from going out to do one thing, Something else came into my photography much much more than just taking pictures, keep doing wat your doing Kim cheers
Wow! What a beautiful experience! Thank you for sharing this, Peter. It's lovely to hear how your photography has evolved and read your lovely experience at the Trossachs. Some would argue it's a coincidence, but maybe not. Nature often reflects things back at us. Lovely memory and momento for you 😁✨️🙏
Lovely images - is this Burghead looking across towards Findhorn Bay? My Dad was stationed at RAF Lossiemouth during the early 70s and I was born in Forres/Elgin - vast skies up there!
Ever notice on a stretch of beach , the affect of wave action leaving the sand with " waves" and in this video. You looked up and saw the same wave affect in the clouds?
Beautiful landscape, fascinating cloud patterns and just a lovely video to demonstrate the joy that nature brings to us if we allow it to.
Storm clouds are just as amazing living by the coast in lancashire. Nice video!
They certainly are! Thank you 😊🙏
Your Gift is your ability to appreciate the moment
Beautiful artwork, Kim.

I'm pretty sure they are cirrus clouds (Fair weather clouds).

I think there is a Cloud appreciation society I don't belong but watch the clouds all the time. Take care
Thanks for sharing this beautiful Scotland coast, you are very talented photographer. Looking forward to your next video Kim.
Thank you very much 😊🙏
What a cool place to grow up! The sun light is bouncing off ice crystals giving many colors. Great video and thank you

It certainly is! Lovely that you enjoy this too and have many fond memories watching them 😊🙏
@kimgrantphotography I have a beautiful image of 'Alien Spaceship-like' clouds taken near Ben Nevis, which is a personal favourite.
Yay, back on the coastline.
There have been some stunning sunrise's over the last couple of weeks here in Blackpool.
At 2:45 the cloud looks like a genie coming out of a lamp ! Beautiful!
What a great spot! 😁✨️
Hi Kim what a fine video. Many many thanks for the inspiration😊

I'm usually not sold on clouds alone warranting a photograph, but there's some beauties in here! I see why they captured your attention.
Thank you 🙏😊

It's interesting to hear how the weather pattern is in Austrialia. Thanks for watching and sharing 😊 🙏

Yes, quite a funny time in our lives and place to live. Thank you 😊🙏
Thanks from Cameroon
In your image at 2:40 I like the shooting star you happened to capture!
Great spot, Robert! I hadn't seen it until the edit 😁 Was a wonderful surprise
Watched a video recently on multiple exposure and composite images, your cloud images look like they could be used with this style, say as textures behind other images! Thoroughly enjoyed the video, I also grew up in a coastal town, albeit a holiday resort.😀
Ahh, yes! They'd make great composites. Thanks for sharing. It's lovely you too had a childhood by the coast 😊
Kim, I believe they are iridescent clouds, typically high in the atmosphere, and it seems they are more likely to occur over high latitudes.
Thank you, Alex! They are so interesting to witness

Interesting video, ty for sharing. If I may ask, did you use any filters to take the cloud pictures and if so what strength?
Thank you. No filters were used 😊🙏
Lovely images - is this Burghead looking across towards Findhorn Bay? My Dad was stationed at RAF Lossiemouth during the early 70s and I was born in Forres/Elgin - vast skies up there!
Thank you. Yes - this is Burghead. Lovely to hear you were born here
Could it be a coincidence???
Those clouds at the beginning look awfully familiar. Would it have been November 12?
I was on the beach below you if so.
Yes, Melanie - it was the 12th November 😁
Ever notice on a stretch of beach , the affect of wave action leaving the sand with " waves" and in this video. You looked up and saw the same wave affect in the clouds?
What a lovely observation, Robert. Thanks for sharing! It's like this sky is mirroring the sea.
Strange, 660 views and 2.5K likes.
👍
Isn't it!! I Google this and apparently it's quite common. Very confusing 😕
With clouds there is "no" ideal formation to photograph - just grab your camera and take shots
