We've been planning this for months now and it's one of those videos/projects that really brings things full circle. It's something I've always imagined, but to see it for myself after installation was a surreal experience, to say the least. I was also glad to share my abilities with an organization doing a lot of conservation efforts with invertebrates. Plus, I don't intend to keep tarantulas myself, so it was cool to have the opportunity to work with them. Thank you so much for your support over the years! I've been going to the Butterfly Pavillion for as long as I can remember. My daugther and I were there a few weeks ago and we noticed the new installation. We spent a good amount of time looking and admiring the work. I've been following you for about a year now and your videos got me into the hobby of building terrariums. When we walked away from the exhibit, I thought "I should go visit SerpaDesign to see if there are any new videos." Low and behold, you're the one who built them! I have so much gratitude for you and the work that you do. I've learned so much from your videos. You truly inspried me and now making terrariums has become something I am passionate about.
I love how you reached out to so many friends to make this beautiful exhibit possible for a non profit without costing them a lot of money. What a perfect way to make the most of your position as an influential person in the hobby!
Working in reptile conservation is hard enough, i cant imagine the work that goes into inverts! From changing the mind of the public to working with smaller and sometimes more fragile animals etc. it boggles the mind, and i send my thanks to the Butterfly Pavillion for such important work! Also youre stuff is awesome as per usual :)
Interestingly, being a subscriber to your channel inspired me to create a naturalistic bioactive vivarium in my workspace. It was originally intended for a sorority of fancy mice, but currently houses one rescued male. Coming from a 'traditional' and small mouse cage where despite having lots of 'commercial' enrichmnent but was he was seldom seen and uninterested in interacting with humans, the change in his behaviour in a naturalistic environment has been incredible. He forages, hunts, burrows, nests and actively seeks out human interaction. While researching bioactive enclosures for his species, everything pointed to 'no' - I wasn't even able to find examples of bioactive habitats in zoological settings. So from Mr Yeet (the mouse) and myself to you - a big thank you for inspiring me to think carefully about his needs and how they could be provided for in a more natural way ❤
If I could build an enclosure half this amazing for my Bird Eating Tarantula I would be over the moon. This channel gives so many ideas and tips to do at home.
This is so crazy! This place is like a half mile from my house! I must have gone like the week before you were there because I knew they were about to add a new enclosure, but I had no idea you were the one to add it! I might have to go check it out later today!
Ahhh! I’m so glad you got to work with The Butterfly Pavilion! I grew up visiting them and I have amazing memories of their butterfly rainforest, tarantulas, and bees! i think this is the best done "product placement" (sponsored) video i have seen in a long time. you dont hide them, but showing them feels not shoved in our face. also, as usual your character presents things in such a calm way, that the products seem worth it! good job. i feel inspired by your separation-but-not layout. i especially enjoy the two identical plants on the right and middle enclosures that are close to each other but separated, and make it look like there is no separation. i am going to built a two tank riparium (2x 24l) and i want to copy what you did. thanks for the inspiration! love from switzerland
Man I wish I could afford a partitioned vivarium like this for my ispods, imagine having multiple species right next to each other! Looks absolutely stunning!
I bet you could put something together on a smaller scale. It may not be as amazing as what Tanner does,but it will be yours. 😊 I encourage you to believe in yourself!
I have a nice glass terrarium currently! It's more about the partitioned variation, those are very expensive here as only sold by breeders for breeders. Of which I am not one.
Why not partition it yourself. Buy a cheap aquarium/terrarium and some glass panels. I never tried to cut and work with glass by myself but Serpa has shown his tips for that in so many videos. I think you can do it. Just try it and learn while you are doing it. Think about how you can do it and not about why you could not. I know we are not like Serpa but we can try our best with his inspiration as help. I bet you will feel amazing after you tried and created a beautiful diy terrarium. Wish you a nice day☀️

I think this is one of my favorites. The seamless look despite it being three enclosures, while it considers each animals very different needs is amazing. Loved hearing about their mission and seeing you excel at something you’re passionate about that the public can admire too. Just awesome!
I live in Colorado Springs and have been to the Butterfly Pavilion. I also got to hold a tarantula for the first time and an enormous butterfly landed on my my arm. I could feel the weight of it and it’s claws dug deep but I held still and relished the moment. Seeing Tanner in collaboration with the BP makes me so proud of him.

What an epic collaboration! It's wonderful to see animals people are afraid of being spotlighted like this. They are such fascinating creatures and I've been keeping tarantulas and other inverts for over 30yrs.

because of you i got my first plants from outside and do like one of those diy eco systems in a jar around 2 years ago. It made me so happy and brought me the joy and energy through my depression. I started earning money and bought even more plants for my home and took interest in learning their names and what they like etc. Thank you a lot for what you have done for everyone here and your amazing creativity

!!! I hadn't seen the description yet but heard Westminster, CO, and immediately knew it was gonna be the Butterfly Pavilion! I used to live in Colorado and went there several times, including for a couple different birthdays, and one of my personal treasures is a framed moth from their gift shop! This is great and I'm glad to see they're still doing good work.

!!! I hadn't seen the description yet but heard Westminster, CO, and immediately knew it was gonna be the Butterfly Pavilion! I used to live in Colorado and went there several times, including for a couple different birthdays, and one of my personal treasures is a framed moth from their gift shop! This is great and I'm glad to see they're still doing good work.

Hoping this is the first of many AZA collaborations for you, Tanner!! I grew up visiting the butterfly pavilion and even had some labs there when I was in college for zoo keeping. The tank is absolutely stunning and if I still lived in Denver, I would 100% come by just to see your tank!

I was biting my lip the whole time desperately hoping there would be cross ventilation but never could have expected the fan move. Brilliant. Awesome job Tanner, looks like you made exactly what these guys need, although I personally would have given much more substrate to the Theraphosa so she can't climb, fall, and hurt herself.
