  • In this video we discuss the fastest way to become a helicopter pilot! I lay out the path to go from 0 - Private Pilot in the shortest time period that I find realistic. Now there are tons and tons of variables and things that can cause your timeline to go faster or slower but this is a good timeline. Another comment that I didn't mention in the video is that, in all honesty the process should not be rushed if possible. Becoming a helicopter pilot is a very big deal and requires a lot of learning, and trying to squeeze that learning into any time period that is super short is not ideal!

    Agree 1000% get a go pro set it up so u can see controls , what ur doing and all the gauges , dont be worried about seeing everything outside what ur doing inside is whats important. I started this during commercial and going home and re watching over and over helped me notice things to watch and do better. Also for quickest find a 141 school, more regimented , probably easier to accommodate you. Plus u can easily fly with possibly a few different instructors so if having issue u cant get, maybe any instructor can teach it different so u get it easier. And to tie in a 141 school, verify they have a DPE associated or close by the work with, and have someone who u know will be there available for all your ratings . From personal experience its a nightmare with 61 schools no instructors , different DPE, no one is rated to do full down autos, check rides may be another state , unfamiliar areas it all makes a difference .

    I got my private pilot license at 116.5 hours, it took a lot for me. What would be your advise with pilots that struggle at the beginning? That would be a great video ! Thank you❤

    Excellent, Realistic Concise and detailed! Congratulations for this video. You may not know it, but you've described the Army's helicopter training quite well.

    Hey man, I’ve been following you since the semi-aggressive Osprey comment I made a few years back. Now since am in high school, and taking on aviation class, I’ve been really looking towards getting my private for fixed wing and rotory wing. These videos have been really informative and entertaining and has really helped me through my studies. I really appreciate your content man. Thanks ❤

    Great Video, Thanks. I would like to see what comes next. As in, what if I want to get turbine certified, what needs to be done for that. and is single turbine v/s twin turbine a different certification?

    Awesome video Thanks! Idea for a video that you mentioned here, what are awesome questions or things to practice to ask your instructor? Maybe a top 10 from your prospective. I have my first flight in 2 days, wish me luck =D

      @@shazam6274 i get it. Got all my ratings over a year ago. Theyve been sitting in my wallet ever since and i havent flown since my last checkride. Along with the other 30 or so pilots in my graduating class. Out of the 40 only 3 ever flew again

      @@10oner The comment was for the drone flyer MDog. One of the big "Secrets": a Helicopter PPL is unusable because the only way you can ever rent one is by getting 1000 hours, and the only way of doing that is to buy a helicopter!

    a. Learn to fly in DCS Flight Sim
    b. Steal a helicopter
    c. Realizing flying a helicopter wasn't fun at all, just super expensive and super harrowing, switch to flying FPV quadcopters that are fully aerobatic.

    I was told by a private heli instructer the best way to learn how to fly helicopters: join the US Army.
    Pilot Yellow in Canada said it is about $40k USD to get your base license.

      Im pretty sure becoming a helicopter pilot via the army requires you to become an officer or warrant. Both require atleast 10 years dedicated to the army. It's a huge time commitment but if your fine with that go for it

    • @TheBeingReal
      @TheBeingReal 5 месяцев назад

      @@DogPuke99 For sure a major time commitment. The training and flight hours are in higher end helis and “free.” Hence why route was not sn option for me. 🤣
