Peak estimate for Dorian: 185 mph 909 millibars it smacked Marsh Harbour and hit Nova Scotia as a Category 2. He parked at the "Grocery Store" this being Grand Bahama for 4 days.
@@MeteoTechWx personally no because it didn't hit New Providence(were I live) as hard as Abaco had been hit the country still recovering 🙏🏽🙏🏽❤ me and my family truly is blessed.
One thing I'd love to see, and this is going to be a little hard to explain, but a video on why a tornado can completely obliterate a building in seconds, where hurricane winds of roughly the same mph basically have to beat things into submission over a long period of time. What are the dynamics of a tornado that make it more instantly devastating at a given wind speed? I hope I posed that question in a way that made sense, it was hard to put into words. Even with the damage shown here, while massive, the ruined buildings at least look like they used to be buildings. When an F3 or better tornado comes through, you're left with nothing but a pile of rubble, and it happens in seconds.
Great review. The whole ordeal of going thru that would be pretty scary to say the least. It almost seems like a couple huge microbursts blowing around. Does all hurricanes come through twice like that or does it depend on the location of the hurricane?
It does kinda look like a microburst! And it depends on the location of the hurricane. Only if the eye goes straight over your area will you experience 1 part, a break, then the 2nd part. There are breaks between rain bands on the outer edge of a hurricane but it isn’t as dramatic a change as between the eyewalls and eye.
It didn’t park itself until it hit around Freeport; about 100 miles away. At that time it was moving about 1 mph with sustained winds of 185 mph. At this time I was sh*^+’j my pants since it was forecast to come over us e en if we did live in north Florida. By then it would lessen to a cat 3. It don’t think for a minute I still want praying like I never prayed before. Thank God it circled around a developing. Bermuda high and redirected it away fro us.
I love Kayla's Hand Jesters in each video
Great Job

Hello from a future meteorologist who lives in the Bahamas actually ❤️✨
Hello! :) Really? That's cool! Were you impacted by Dorian?

Wow! Glad to hear you and your family were safe. Dorian was certainly a historic storm
More hurricane studies maybe on lesser known cat 5s

When you tell your teacher the hurricane took your homework away 7:36
You should watch Jimmy Yunge's footage of it! It's even crazier!
