Last month, a customer showed me a picture, saying that the straight lines he cut were not as straight as it should be. His machine has passed warranty, so we offer him the following suggestions.
1: Whether the machine has been hit by a collision before, we need to check whether there is cracking at the connection between the gantry and the movable bases, and replace or repair it according to the actual situation.
2: Check whether the servo motors are loose.
3: Check whether the rack, sliders and guide rail are too dry. After cleaning, apply special lubricating oil.
4: It is also possible that the sliders are broken and need to be replaced.
5: If the machine is in a strong magnetic environment and is interfered with, this situation may also occur, so the ground wire must be connected separately. The depth is determined according to the actual situation, maybe at least 2.5 meters.
6: If there is no problem in the above situation, you can appropriately reduce the acceleration, low-pass frequency, and stiffness in the global parameters. Note that it is only fine-tuning.
Let me emphasize again, if your machine is still within the warranty, please contact your supplier first if you have any questions. The content in my video is for reference only.
But if it is a new machine, the lines are not straight, what should we do?
1: If you purchased the complete machine and your supplier can provide complete services, please contact them for support.
2: If you assemble the machine yourself, you can check whether the driving parameters match and whether the rigidity gain is too high, etc. Then check whether a series of hardware installations are correct and secure, for example, detect whether racks, guide rails, sliders, etc. are installed correctly. Check whether the motor and reducer are firmly installed.

I am having the same issue since 3 days mine is a converted 3 kw fibre laser machine which had been running great but one day I had alarm in one of the y axis drives then both the drive of alarm OL1 and since then I am just trying to get it rectified the lines are getting all wiggly after a while we start cutting the pieces. We have checked the reducers and motors also the alarm has gone but the wiggles are just being persistent. Don’t know what’s happening but I kind of suspect the rail guides now.
