    I was in Salem, Oregon yesterday, and it was AMAZING! Truly once-in-a-lifetime. The traffic on our way back to Washington was CRAZY! 6. Hours!!! It was worth it, though.

    This was an amazing experience. The video doesn't do it justice. The temperature drops, the area gets dark, and the eclipse is magical.

    "Two minutes of ecstasy," he says at 5:08. Something tells me that plenty of people in that crowd had a different kind of ecstasy, which lasted the entire eclipse.

      Diana Trash132 they kept you In? When I was a kid we made a big event out of a partial eclipse. We even got to make our own glasses to watch it as a project.

      I think that's terrible but I expect the school was covering it's back in case some parents on the make suing them for thousands of dollars for not protecting their little ones.

    I didn't get to witness it myself because we had cloudy skies here in Massachusetts. I was really looking forward to seeing it, so you can imagine my disappointed.
    Thanks to you and many others who are sharing their videos I'm getting to at least see it.

    I live in Oregon so I got too see it. It was amazing. Went from full sunshine to being pitch black for about 1 minute and then it went back too full sunlight again.

    And now in Oct 14th, Oregon again will experience an eclipse, but an Annular Eclipse, and I can't wait to see it.

    To view a crowd, try getting up on a ladder for a 360 degree viewpoint. It also helps if the news man gets out of the picture.

      We only had a partial down here also, but it made all the shadows on the ground look very nice. Everything was crescent shaped.

    The sad thing is that where I live is just an hour away from complete totality yet for some reason some people still didn't go see it. Like seriously, can't you give up like 4 hours of your life to see a (almost) once in a lifetime event? Come on.
    I completly understand why most people won't drive half way over the country to see it, but even when it was just one little hour away some people still couldn't be bothered to see it.

      Irene Torres Well, how would you explain seeing it again tonight when it just passed over the United States today. It takes 24 hrs to come around again, I think. Not sure. I find the path of the moon confusing!

      you're really confused haha the moon lasts 28 days circling the earth. what it seemed like the moon was moving is because the rotation of the earth, but the moon will almost stay in the same place, so I wouldn't be surprised if the moon comes out tonight.

      The moon is now in its new moon phase it appears during the day when it begins to grow again it will start to appear later during the night it's all about the position during its orbit.

    or use a videocamera with brightness and contrastness control

    Nice video but guys, you don't need glasses during totality! You missed out on the best part of the eclipse! Hopefully you can experience the full effect in 2024.

    I'm in San Jose an it was only a partial eclipse 😞. It didn't get dark out or anything just the shadows turned into crescents

    I was in Oregon and watch the eclipse
    Later when the eclipse was over, it took me 2 hours to get to my home and regular it will take 10 minutes
    It was hell of a traffic 😒😒😒😒

    I only got a partial view from where I was. If I had traveled a state down I would have seen it fully. Unfortunately there is no time for that when you have jury duty. 🤣

      Im a cristian too but this is merely not gods work. The moon is a chunk of the earth that broke off a long time ago but way after earths creation and yes the sun is the only star in our solar system but there are trillions of other universes with Trillions of stars. As proven by NASA the moon moves at about 3 cm away from earth a year so 200 million years ago this wasnt a thing and in about 200 million this isnt gonna be a thing. Eventually the moon will be gone and trillions of years from now if life still exist on earth it will all be wiped out because the sun will burn out

      When the eclipse is in totality, it's safe to view without the glasses. The light from the corona won't hurt your eyes. (Jan Griffiths).
