Man, the Ghost is awesome! I liked the Edlebrock covers, definitely period correct. But since they cause issues, the taller ones are right for the job. They turned out great! Thanks for the tip on the clear coat, too. And thanks for the video!

Love the videos when you take the cars out & bang gears. New valve covers look great. I had the same issues with old valve cover clearance & no baffles. Five on the floor 🔥

Gluing two cork gaskets together used to work.

Oil breather extensions.
Take a long screwdriver, put it against the top of the intake above each lifter and listen with your ear to the screwdriver. And you'll be able to hear which cylinder is louder than the other to figure out which song there is making the most noise.
Oh yeah, that definitely works. But I’ve already replaced all the lifters and the cam.
@@BREW2LFOXBODY if you put it on the valve cover you can hear if its the rocker arm, that will tell you if its the rocker arms or if it deeper internally

Man it's most likely the lifters, ever since covid there has been a pandemic of bad lifters. I recently did a h/c/I on a friend of mine's truck. I've done too many cam installs to count, it was a simple hyd cam and I couldn't for the life of me get the valves adjusted. They would never pump up and lash properly and eventually wiped 2 lobes. I called Comp Cams and they said it's a common thing nowadays because 99% of lifters are made in china or mexico and the material is very sub par. I ended up using Hylift Johnson lifters, not to be confused with Johnson lifters, Sealed Power is a possible option also but can be hit or miss. Either way a high zinc oil is highly advised. Rotella 15w40 is what I use on mild street engines and really anything older and it definitely helps, Shaffer's on race stuff. Adjust them at your own risk, but I wouldn't suggest it, I'd bite the bullet, buy some quality lifters and use a high zinc oil.

@@hotrodray6802 Yeah really anymore it's a crap shoot. I've always went by the motto- It's not how much you spend it's how you spend it. But nowadays most stuff is outsourced to china or mexico because of cost and the quality is awful. It's best to go with American made so at least you have half a chance but it's gonna cost you.

Rocker chatter means it wants to go faster..and oil leaks just keeps fresh oil in the car....at least that's how mine works.never have to do an oil change..just add.

I can't remember. Do you have a manual fuel pump or an electric? When my son's car went from electric to manual, the Comp Cams fuel pump eccentric has knocked ever since. It drives me crazy.

If you really like the og valve covers then why not use valve cover spacers. I had the same issue on my Cleveland.
Comp cams lifters I’m on my second set in my 347 already replaced one time due to valve train noise and within 500 miles they are rattling again with good oil pressure i believe it’s a lifter flaw
Would love to find me some old ford Motorsport covers. Heck I’d settle for some of the old gold moroso covers.
It's really gonna hard not to turn it up with the rear end/gear change. Those valve covers look damn good after paint.

I bought some roller lifters that were not ford brand. Can't remember the brand. But i have the same problem. If I beat the car the noise goes away for a few minutes then slowly comes back
Hey Brew2l what could cause a low rpm slight stutter on a 08 3 valve mustang. I’ve replaced Maf plugs coils injectors. Injector connectors. The only code it’s showing is O2 sensors because of the cats are missing

You remember those clicky rocker arms you had to change?
That won't fix the preload, but there's plenty pressure and volume to pump those lifters in a couple seconds.

I had a stock 90 HO GT motor, in my 81 Thunder bird, with AOD and a shift kit, back in 92.. Had that same noise, it was hitting the same spots, on the sides, on my old school Cal Custom ribbed covers, with the stock non roller rocker arms.. Had to swap back to my stock HO GT covers. Looked bad, sounded 👍 good though.. I hope it's not something deeper pal..
