Shadow was pretty decent in Forces. He didn't get much of a role, but he was himself.
06 Shadow is also an amazing character.
ShTH Shadow acts differently because he has amnesia. He technically is a different character from SA2 Shadow.
the ow the edge shadow is the same shadow from heroes. AND YET, he doesn't act like him and just hates humans for no reason.
So yes, shadow in his own game is worse than in any other in the series

That's definitely cool, multiple playable characters and they aren't boring to use!? Win win in my book. Shadow is a little underwhelming but that more than makes up with metal and sonic. Metal sonic alone is a better 06. And the future of the hacks of this game will look brighter than ever. Not as bright as Mario 64 rom hacks but still. Now all we need is to fix big the cat, and this game is essentially perfect.
seriously, the modders and hacker community of this game have literally made my dream as a child come true. They've taken this game and turned it into every sonic fans dream. Thank god for this community.
Although I would love Big's levels/gameplay to be fixed, I also want Amy's gameplay to be fixed. She is way to slow and her special ability either stops her in her tracks, or sends her flying. I honestly prefer Big's levels over Amy's.
His levels are still bad and need to be fixed though.

Shadow hypothetically should also have a boost. Shadow has shown to have a ton of different chaos abilities (chaos snap, chaos rift) in different games so itd be cool to see his full potential moveset... but this mod isnt done until we see super big
As someone who's played this mod a good bunch, it really is epic stuff tbh. Makes the game SO much more fun! Especially Hyper Sonic!

I love Sonic’s new maneuverability, and the fact that Hyper Sonic can fly. Shadow’s pretty cool too, but he’s definitely the most underwhelming. And Metal is just really interesting. One thing I’d like to see though, is the meter. I think it’d be a good idea for the meter to not deplete in the overworld, kinda like how the boost doesn’t deplete in Sonic Generations. It’d be fun to just screw around in Station Square to my heart’s content

This is why I love the Sonic community. Sure, we're goofy and strange, but you can just *hear* the raw energy and enthusiasm for these titles.
Thank you Garrulous for rejuvenating the raw spirit of *fun* and excitement I used to have for these games. And most of all to the mod creator themselves--you're doing great work! I can't wait to see custom levels utilizing the raw power of these mods!

Dude, you don't need a gaming PC to run SADX, your Smartphone could run the game (The original Dreamcast version was released in 1998 and the DX Re-release was released in 2003)
I could run the game with NO GPU and still get 60 FPS

@@luigines6457 You have to install SADX mod loader, simply put the mod in the mods folder and enter the mod loader
SADX can run on like a Laptop Tablet the games 20 years old and even on steam it's like 10$ normally

Now we need some custom levels to really utilize these powers. I'd like to see Sonic Adventure modded like Mario 64. Is this mod compatible with BetterSADX?
I don't think it is. The mod was a bit of a pain to get running. And yeah, the creator sounds like he's going to be making a large scale thing out of this! So new levels and stuff are on the horizon I assume. And if this game does get the Mario 64 treatment, we're in for quite the ride.

custom levels seems like it would be nice for this mod. a lot of these mobility skills seem like they'll just make the game too easy and some of these new abilities seem like they won't be that useful in the normal level design.

Honestly, mods like these really make me want to get Adventure on steam. I didn’t like it almost at all my first time around, but I’m thinking with mods like this it could definitely be more fun
I have a theory, metal sonic was originally going to have a super But they realized that he would be over powered with the Jems so they made hyper Sonic, that is why what I made of plays in the background
Or it was just to reference Final Battle themes of that era and What I'm Made Of was used because Super Sonic and Hyper Sonic can then feel distinct.

Shadow was never confirmed to being a hero, he just remembered Maria didn’t want a genocide or an extinction done in her name. A heroic act, but it doesn’t mean Shadow learned how to be a hero, he just learned his friend hadn’t wanted him to be a monster. Amnesia is also a decent reason for a “weapon” to be a shady “edge”-hog. Psychologically speaking, his slight moral and personality change, as well as his amnesia, are to be expected from the fall he took.
Metal Sonic is probably the best part so far.

Actually, Metal Sonic WAS in the original game as a completion bonus, though he WAS mapped over Sonic completely, aside from becoming super!
With levels adapted to the new mechanics, this would be a great experience, even better than some new game by sega!

3:55 actually is SA2’s Super Sonic, just look at Sonic in the FinalHazard battle in SA2, even the shoes are from SA2’s Sonic (even if the model used for Sonic in this mod is the SA2’s Sonic)

I think this mod is incredible because it's proof that the boost and adventure formula can work as one. A modern sonic game with open adventure style stages and this moveset for Sonic would be legendary.

Actually I honestly believe they ARE the Chaos Emeralds, and there's plenty of evidence to justify this; There are seven of them, they all match the exact colors of the Chaos Emeralds, and it was cut from the final release but there was an 8th gem called the Rainbow Gem which was unlocked by collecting all 7 gems and using it would have turned Sonic into Super Sonic for use in regular stages

1:42 yeah I know the mod which makes the game harder ("expert mode") and I also felt it was a little too spammy especially in certain areas. I am working on my own "hard mode" edits for stages in DX which are less spammy and imo, more authentic. I'll let you know when Emerald Coast hard mode is out so you can try it if you like :) Kudos to the guy who made that expert mod though because he did a lot of work, every stage, and he changed geometry not just sets, so big up even if the end product wasn't quite for me!

Love that they gave Super and Hyper sonic their own styles. Hyper doesn't nerf Super so for those people who dislike Hyper, you can still get unique experience with Super. Then those who do appreciate Hyper get something out of that too.

I kinda wish that these unlocks would bring in newer and harder stages lol; kinda like hazard stages where the sonic or said character has to retain their super state

Literally, the only requirements for the boost mechanic to work in an open-world environment are:
1. Finding the correct balance of power.
2. Designing the game to reward its usage.

Woah! Man, if child me was surprised by DLC for this game, their brain would *melt* from awe at mods of this depth! The only complaint i have is that i personally think Metal and Shadow should use their Sonic Adventure models, just to fit in a bit better with the game. (though, you did say that the mod maker said that this was part of a bigger mod, so maybe the bigger mod matches the modern models more? Dunno.)

SO much amazing stuff here. I've only recently become aware of the existence of a hacking COMMUNITY. And it blows my mind. It's so nice eto see people feel a similar way about this game as I do, and are willing to take it up to a level (or 20!) to do some cool stuff to it.
I think it's cool. I'm excited to see what happens in the future. I think that rings should be able to fill the special gauge and hyper shadow should be available

12:08 this was lit af.... But the coolest thing I've seen today has got to be... Well, I haven't watched MXR today so I guess this kind of seems like it.
I'd say that a Blender project I was working on was it, but I've got a clear conflict of interest for that so I don't trust my own opinion with regards to it.
I can't seem to get the OIT MOD set up correctly. Whenever I use it, it lags the game tremendously and makes a ton of elements disappear, but without it, Shadow, Metal, and upgradeless Sonic don't load properly, with Shadow and Metal specifically having really messed up textures.
Not going to mention the Sonic '06 HUD? Ok.
I like how all the gems work. Also that they actually do work, because in '06 they were all broken and didn't use energy.
I hope there's a brand new campaign to work with, all things considered. These new powerups will make the stages seem much too small.

I really want to see a mod for SA2 that completes the unused Super Sonic and Super Shadow in 2 player mode. It was originally supposed to be unlocked by A ranking Green Hill. They would be extremely fast, have better attacks and abilities, lose a ring every second, and die if they lose all rings.
