      Many people during the film may not have a first person experience of what Maquia feels, but they can get the idea if they ever outlived a family member or a long-living pet in a more mature age , especially if someone close to their heart died untimely. I had such experience not so long before watching and this movie left a gaping wound that nothing can fill.

      I'm truly sorry to hear about your personal experience, and I can imagine how Maquia's story might have resonated with you on a deep emotional level. It's incredible how certain films have the power to evoke such strong emotions and connect with our personal struggles. It seems like "Maquia" touched a chord within you, serving as a poignant reminder of the profound impact of loss and the enduring love we carry for those who've left us too soon. Movies that leave a lasting impression like this one are truly special. If you ever feel like sharing more about your thoughts on the film or your personal experiences, I'm here to listen. Sending you positive vibes and hoping you find comfort in the beauty of storytelling.@@angeltensey

      @@Juhnime time heals, thats it. also, i've just recently reconsidered my opinion about anime shows (unlike anime movies, i hated shows for cheap fan service and all the ridiculous things in them). and there are plenty of shows that can serve as a pill for depression, like "spice and wolf" and plethora of dumb funny, goofy romcoms. i'll cope, thats for sure.

      I agree! I also had a similar view regarding Anime when all I knew about it was the bandwagon hate towards it, but later realized that they dig deeper into a lot of different societal problems and constructs that captivated my attention instantly. And I'm glad that time is letting you heal. I had a similar situation with a friend of mine, and it's been hard, but time is definitely healing it for me. I watched this movie just a mere month before my dear sister was taken from me at the young age of 28 years old. Suffice to say this movie was still fresh in my mind when that happened. This movie literally changed my life because i got to see her one more time before she passed on due to the emotions this movie generated within me.

      I'm so sorry for your loss! ): I'm sure you're going through something that cannot be expressed by words or even sympathized for without actually having to go through a similar situation, but I do hope you really fight strong, especially through this difficult time. The stronger you are, I'm sure your sister is going to absolutely love you more and more. I recently watched a RUclips shorts video about someone discussing their loss of their mother and it touched my heart. This was the message that they said to the world (re-worded and simplified by me): "I know my mother won't ever physically come back, but I don't think about it that way. I just kind of think about it as a very long farewell. We're just staying away from each other for a long time, knowing that we'll eventually be together soon. We're just temporarily away from each other. We just can't meet right now because of circumstances that don't allow." Again, stay strong and remember hurdles and barriers in life are only challenges that make you stronger in the end. (:

    I totally stumbled upon this movie on RUclips, it was free to watch and the art style intrigued me. So I gave it a shot and I am so glad I did! As a first time mother it can really hammer home all the anxiety that comes with being a parent, and seeing how Maquia even though she made mistakes was still able to raise her son to live a loving and full filling life is so powerful! I think you're right even if you aren't a parent you can get a sense of what it is like through this movie! Thank you for this heartfelt video for such a beautiful movie!

      @@Juhnime actually I'm from Indonesia and the novel that I write right now using my national language (Indonesian). This will be little bit longer but hope this didn't bother you.
      Synopsis:
      An 19 years old boy escaped from prison on a murder charge.
      In his runaway, he reached the city that he never knew and decided to live as a fugitive. One day at dusk, he find a empty house which is "perfect" for him to hide. But he didn't know that the real person in charge on that house is an 16 years old high school girl which she live alone because she's orphan. She losing her parents when she still 10 years old due to accident that almost took her life too.
      They meet each other when the girl just came home from school. After the mourning of her parents, she was depressed until the age of 14, that was her first time to commit suicide but always failed. Until she meet him and he felt sorry for her, he (fugitive) decided to live together with her as a "siblings", which means he want her to call him "brother" since then.
      They didn't know that their encounters lies a "big incident" about what happened in the past.
      ---
      Why I said that Maquia and also Violet Evergarden become one of the influence for me? I really love their relationship. Maquia with Ariel and Violet with Gilbert. Eventhough (especially Maquia) didn't have blood connection with Ariel, she worked hard to raised him as his "mother". I think Gilbert do the same too with Violet. Both Maquia and Gilbert teach them how to keep survived through the hard times, how to keep stand with own feets, tell them about the meaning of life and also love. Yes. Love.
      My novel titled "Puzzle Fragments". When you read the synopsis, I know somehow this is dark and quite depressed story, yes I admit it but don't worry, I'll give you the antidote. With my novel, I can speak my voice that I really care about social issues like mental health, suicide, domestic abuse, bullying (include cyber bullying), etc.
      I also hope that my novel will have international release in the future but it have to translate it first. But now, I have to pending the project because I have to finish my thesis so I can graduate from university this year 🙏

    Just finished watching the movie and I wanted to look for a video/post to share my thoughts with, I'm glad I stumbled upon your vid on r/Maquia. Because I 100% agree with your words... it really is such a beautiful film with a beautiful message. To me, Krim embodies a person who holds onto the past too much; Ariel (during the battle) embodied a person who could willingly disregard his past for a future of his own; Leilia embodies a person who could have a new start even though she remembers the pain and teachings the past gave her; and then Maquia, a person who learns to live from start to finish and continues to live on carrying all the love she gained and gave to the people she met in this short span.
    I really do love the film. I'm hoping to watch it again alongside my rewatch of Violet Evergarden. Good video!
    slight criticism tho: maybe a few spelling errors but it never really bothered me. I'm still subbing.

    • @Juhnime
      @Juhnime  3 года назад +3

      Hey Penn! Thanks for taking your time to watch the video as it means a lot to me! I do understand that there are grammar/spelling errors here and there, which is still something I need to improve on especially while writing the essay as well as recording the audio.
      I also agree with everything you said! In the majority of my videos, I like to target a couple characters (usually the protagonists) to avoid majorly spoiling things (which is why I also like to keep my spoilers at the bare minimum), but again, if I were to mention more of the characters, I would definitely agree with you upon noticing that Krim is one who holds a lot of cruelty and pain through his past, especially losing Leilia. As for Ariel, he is one that represents life in the perspective of one who does not rely on the present or past, but rather looks up to the future (like you mentioned). Lastly, Maquia is one who embodies human morality when it comes to motherly love, love in general, and caring for those around you. Especially because Maquia never had a parental figure, her being able to manage such duties as a mother, is something very dear and special to me. I am very inspired by her! (:
      Again, thank you for watching and I hope you are excited for the projects that I have awaiting for this channel! hehe!!

    At the end of the movie, Maquia says she loves Ariel, and she loves, what does that mean? Do you love romantic love? And why not a ticket?

    • @Juhnime
      @Juhnime  2 года назад +11

      Hey! So based on my interpretations of the film, I believe Maquia said she loved Ariel in a parent-to-child way. Since Ariel was technically an "adopted child" of Maquia, she [Maquia] doesn't have the blood-related relationship as a mother normally would with her own bared child, yet Maquia's motherly instincts have brought her to love and really give her all for Ariel. Maquia learned the way of loving a child and being a mother to a child by experiencing the bare-minimums from its beginning to the end. Since Ariel had come so far by the gracious hands of Maquia's motherly teachings, her saying that she loved him was simply that itself: just expressing her love for her own child. I'm not so sure what you mean by ticket, but if it you mean a ticket related to romantic love, I doubt it since it was a mother-to-son love, not an actual lovers-love kind of thing (if that made any sense).

  • @hellomanul

    Didnt cry at all. Very weird movie on teenage motherhood. One adoption and one pregnancy. Would of been better if it was just the beginning and them weaving tbh.
