if your looking for new romhacks to try out id reccomend pokemon tectonic and pathways. pathways offers a unique choice system in a school setting, tectonic has the best use of the pokedex in any pokemon game, and it literally shows you every pokemons stats, moves, and level up changes from the start of the game which is essential since alot of pokemo received buffs and nerfs.
I found Lucbui's Discord account a little over a year ago. He has a different screen-name now. We talked about Glazed, what he's up to now, and etc. As for the takedown, I think he was kind of honored something he made was worthy of being taken down. As for what he does now, I won't disclose anything personal he told me, but he hasn't been in the Pokémon rom hacking sphere for about 8 years and won't be going back into it. It was a nice chat. I should get back with him. I kinda left him in the dust lol.
I find it wild that Nintendo views small scale fan games as competition when they have the biggest ip in the world and constantly make record sales That is, until I consider the quality of the recent games. It's almost as if they know they are going to release unpolished messes lol

The thing that sucks about pokemon brick bronze is that we were literally like a month away from getting the elite 4 before it got deleted. But hey, loomian legacy may not have as much content as pbb, but the quality of what's in the game is definitely WAYYY higher

Not to mention the awkward presentation that SV had Its easy to move on to a different RPG franchise be it monster collecting or not, I mostly go back to Pokemon to press A to win and shut my brain down for a couple hours as a form of break before moving to a more intensive RPG.
I wouldn't be surprised if Nintendo went after wizards or D&D fans for making homebrew Pokemon based campaigns for example I know someone who's basically doing a mystery dungeon meets mainstream pokemon d&d campaign

I've been trying to wrap my head around such websites for the longest time. It's like those Pokemon games in app stores that keep popping up. I've seen many of those websites come and go, but there are a few that I've known for years and they're still online without any problems. One of them even stole a thumbnail of mine to use as a banner on their website and they have never bothered to remove my logo from it.
Adam knows very well that after the takedown of his Pokémon Prism ROM Hack, that no fan game or ROM Hack is safe. And even now after he said he understands fully that it was causing direct competition with their products, deep down inside, he knows very well that both Nintendo and TPC are taking away every fan's creative thinking. We always forget that Nintendo and TPC have an authoritarian mindset, where they don't like anything that's not done their way and will actively go scorched earth to take them down. I'm well aware that Adam still hasn't got over it completely, he still feels for all the unfortunate devs who've had their ROM Hack eliminated by either Nintendo or TPC. And the sad thing is, there's nothing we can do to prevent it, it's only going to continue to get worse and worse, as Nintendo and TPC become more powerful. All anyone can do, is just try to stay hidden, to avoid a potential C&D.
The only romhack I’ve ever played was ash grey, a hack of fire red/leaf green. It was pretty good, it’s meant to follow ash’s story but as a game and it hits the nail on the head with it

There are already a lot of indie monster collecting games out there. Casette Beasts is one that's very good. If you want games that are made by bigger studios, then Dragon Quest Monsters or Shin Megami Tensei can fill the void.
That's what the Pokemon Brick Bronze devs are doing! It's definitely taking a while to get the main story, but there's already around 300 loomians and it gets updates anywhere from once a month to once every few months
I don't do patches, I just hack the rom and dm it to anyone who asks for it. Fuck Nintendo. Emerald rom hacks don't impede their profits at all and is essentially abandonware.

I prefer romhacks like Pokemon Coral or Orange, a game that's set in a new region but uses already existing pokemon. I've played Renegade Platinum and Blaze Black 2 however I wasn't very fond of them.

For me I moved on with Pokemon completely, fan game or main game, at least fan games that are based on Pokemon universe. Original games with the same gameplay seems to outclass Pokemon every time, with a fraction of what Pokemon Company has. Hard to support Pokemon in any capacity now, seeing how toxic they are to their fans.
What do you play then? I personally enjoy Persona and Shin Megami Tensei a lot. Digimon is also pretty good, especially Cyber Sleuth and Hacker's Memory. Some of the indie monster collecting games like Coromon and Casette Beasts are also very good.
@@Genoci For now, I got my eye on a combination of IPs kinda, Touhou but with their characters and all in Pokemon style gameplay, TPDP is the name, there were also more actually based on Pokemon regions or used Pokemon Essentials, but TPDP is an original game. In the end not that I played too many pokemon mainline games or similar games, Shin Megami Tensei kinda caught my eye as well, one day I will check it better. You should definitely try some others, that one is super dated.
I’d recommend Unbound or Gaia for GBA, and Prism or Crystal Clear for GBC.

I like both, but fakemon hacks slightly more. I do dislike games that put every existing Pokemon in it, unless it's up to gen 5 or 6.
