The damage to food prices, energy prices and other bills haven't gotten any lower, food prices are still on the rise. Doesn't help any of us!
Inflation on things that most people spend most of their money on, fuel, food, mortgages is closer to 20%
Exactly! It is all smoking mirror...try to buy a bottle of olive oil or butter and you tell me if "prices are coming down"...líes and more líes from Tories
How have we got a MP talking about inflation and real wages when she doesn’t even know what it means 😂🙈
MP's wages maybe but for everyone else ?
Oh rest assured their wages are going up above inflation 😅
Great thumbnail of two millionaires smiling when the rest of the country struggling still with the 3.2 %
No no, they are relatable! It doesn't matter that Susanna earns more than the national average in a week, she puts questions to MPs to stick it to the man!
Cant blame EU anymore...
The basic annual salary for an MP from 1 April 2024 is £91,346. MPs also receive expenses to cover the costs of running an office, employing staff, having somewhere to live in London or their constituency, and travelling between Parliament and their constituency.
Don't forget their food and amenities (and their _horses_ amenities in some cases, heating their private swimjing pools, etc.). So basically they "live" for free and their _measly_ £91K salary is basically pocket money for _sweets and comics._
Great work from Ed and Susanna - Susanna captures exactly what I think we were all thinking at 5:25
Best British comedy since Ricky Gervais’ 2022 comedy special. 🤡🤡🤡
She never said it directly but she basically implied that because wages have gone up and as such prices are going down, when it's nothing more than more money being spent on products still.
Really? Not seen it plus wages have been frozen
Translation: “You’re paying more because of us, but slower.”
They need to bring interest rates down now. Inflation was called by problems in supply not high demand because we had money to spend.
Interest rates being high is good for investors. Ie the rich.
Not so good on the 70% of us who have large mortgages and loans.
Liar, liar, pants on fire.
That’s an incredible figure.
Car insurance inflation is running at about 60%……is it a Rip Off Britain thing or are Car Insurance companies living in a parallel world?
Utter tripe. Water, CT, petrol, have all increased by 10% this month. Mortgage has doubled.
More lies.
Bless..edd schooled her..she panicked looking at her notes..out of her depth
If she blinked any faster when she got asked the difficult questions her eyes would have been permanently shut, which might have been appropriate because her brain is clearly fast asleep.
Who are these mps trying to kid? DO THEY NOT KNOW THEY HAVE LOST THE COUNTRY? or do they know that the silent majority want more torys 😩
Rises in wages is down to inflation and interest rates going up, people are asking for more money to pay their bills.
Boy listening to this pile of nonsense is effing depressing
I’m very glad that it was pointed out that inflation falling still means prices are going up, just slowly.
Nothing has decreased because we are not in a deflationary period (unfortunately). The only thing deflation harms is the rich peoples bank accounts and it benefits normal people because prices actually drop
The Tories can’t claim they are responsible for inflation dropping. It was bound to drop in the end irrespective of their actions (they’ve not really done anything to be honest, let’s be real. If they had, they’d not be doing dire in the polls)
Inflation a measurement of what. No housing costs in that inflation number and they are sky high so I wonder why….Inflation measurements are such BS
talking bolloks again..
So - is Trott 'trotting out' a line that she knows isn't true, or is she so thick that she doesn't understand basic figures whilst being a senior Treasury minister?
She has no idea!😅
Boy listening to this pile of nonsense is effing depressing
A couple of important things to remember here.
i) The way inflation is calculated has been manipulated and changed so many times, just like covid death numbers and climate data.
ii) Under Labour the situation would be much worse.
iii) Under the Globalist Socialist Tories, the situation is out if its control.
To put it another way, imagine water coming into you house from a broken pipe. You call a plumber, who turns up and tells you he or she has calculated the water volume using the latest government figures, and the actual rate of the water coming in is slightly lower, so you should actualmy feel happier and much drier.
When you ask the plumber if it can be fixed, he or she tells you there is no need to fix it because the rate is slowing, and by the end of the year there will be a new plumber.
Fantastic line of questioning, exposing the nonsense spoken by this MP and her colleagues
lying tory, what a surprise.
hey Laura, why the long face?
So entertaining!
