    Rent went from 1200 to 1950. Car insurance went from 300 to 600. We are being scammed by corporations. The pandemic was opportunity for corporations

      I assist with people's budgets. You wouldn't believe what people spend their money on while complaining about inflation. $300 cable, $100 in streaming services, $200 going out to eat and that's only because they can't put it on their maxed out credit cards anymore.

      I have a paid for mortgage so rents don't affect me but I do have homeowners and car insurance on a 2020 vehicle my rate increased 56 cents in January I prefer to pay my house in car insurance once a month so paying $114.83 State Farm

Study what inflation is it the relative price increase due to loss of real purchasing power.

      @@r44bb98 I signed a lease for $2,000/month (already too high btw), but I didn’t sign a lease for $2,200/month which is the new norm in rental increases per year in my area. My rent has increased by 30% in 2 years. We have to move each year? Inhumane af. Do you even understand the costs to move?? I’m being robbed by landlords. Literally. And soon the costs to move will be too high and I’ll wind up on the street with the rest of the unhoused in the US. When rents increase by 15% every year, that’s where all of your savings go. We are TRAPPED. 2 adults in a 1 bed 1 bath that’s already overpriced but the best we could afford before rental units went up by $200/month every year…
      At this rate renters will always be stuck overpaying and stay impoverished. We want to own our own properties!! But have no options to escape the lords.
      *What we need is rent control or a complete overhaul of the medieval era landlord system. Companies now hoard rental properties using computer programs like RealPage to jack up costs of living astronomically. This is a system issue the government needs to regulate NOW.*

The money sent isn’t just spent on US defense contractors, it goes to pay Ukraines military’s wages, food, humanitarian and a bunch of other really expensive stuff that is not just weapons related.

    I was laid off in February (2024). Business had been really slow for over a year. Gas prices are going up yet again and food prices have not been coming down and won't be. I am now on unemployment and FoodShare, but I am 65 years old. Who is going to hire an I.T. person with just over 40 years experience for I.T.? I am certainly willing to take a job in another industry, but when they see my background I either don't have enough experience in a certain area or over qualified. I am thinking I will take early retirement and just get the heck out of the working world. I've cut back on a lot of things and I will continue to cut back. Thankfully I am single. Never married and no children. That air-head in the White House HAS to go!

    Y’all are going to be very upset when your grocery bill doesn’t go down under Trump. You really think we’re gonna go back to the 2019 groceries/goods prices? That’s not gonna happen unless you want a serious economic depression. We might get gas down a bit, but it’s not gonna go down to 1.36 a gallon again! Inflation can definitely slow down, but these higher prices are here to stay! When this country suffered from inflation when Jimmy Carter was president, Did we have deflation on everything when Reagan was president? Nope!

    Gas in California goes up every year, it was written in by the governor a while now . Taxes on gas is about $2.50 per gallon. 🎊 😂😂 you just gotta laugh it so crazy . It’s $80.00 to fill my vehicle, when Trump was president it was $40.00 to fill up !!!

    In 2020 my weekly budget for food and household items for 2 people was $50-75. Now it's about $150. Every week I went to the store I was shocked at how prices were jumping, sometimes an item doubling in price. The only thing I noticed going back down was walmart french bread.

      It is dependent on which index you look at. Core CPI or consumer CPI. I believe the former doesn't include those and the latter one does.

    I remember when i worked at a grocery in early 2000s, those gravy packets were 89 cents and a store brand was 79 cents. Now we’re here 20 years today. We are in a different era in time today after the pandemic. I don’t see prices leveling off anytime soon.

    Prices of gas, rent, and groceries have nothing to do with keeping inflation high. Inflation is out of control, and as a result, gas, rent, and grocery prices are high. Not sure how you get that confused, but it's a fundamentally backwards line of thinking.

GDP was supposed to be 2.3 but came in at 1.6 - GDP growth is slowing. This is called Stagflation - low growth with high inflation. Google it and enjoy Biden's great works.
